For anyone who wants a boost to their general health. The suggested goals are:

EAT 10 PORTIONS OF FRUIT AND VEGETABLES EVERY DAY - if you don't usually eat much fruit and veg I would build up gradually or you could upset your digestion.

DO (AT LEAST) 10 MINUTES OF EXERCISE EVERY DAY - can be yoga, stretching or something more energetic. The plan is that the idea of doing 10 minutes is not too daunting, and having started you may well find you want to do more.

There are no restrictions on what you eat so long as you get your 10 fruit and veg as well. The focus is not on weight loss but on improving our energy levels and hopefully our general mood and well-being. Sign up below and post here to tell us how you're getting on and how you are feeling.

Basic guidance on what constitutes a portion of fruit and veg here and you can download more detailed information by following the link at the very bottom of the page

if anyone has any spiritual beliefs could they please say a little prayer for the successful ripening of my 2 mangoes which are currently on my windowsill

I don't like to speak too soon but it looks like they may actually become edible at some point

we all know how deceiving looks can be as far as fruit goes though

I have spiritual beliefs but possibly not much influence
will send ripening vibes
i thought one put them in a drawer like avocadoes.. do they need light

stuffitllama · 20/04/2008 21:26

fishie -- i'm of your toast tomorrow

fishie · 20/04/2008 21:28

have you got a brown paper bag? i think mangoes do ripen, not like the awfully disappointing melons i have had. ds had a scream in waitrose yesterday and i had to buy strawberries. they are a bit grim.

fishie · 20/04/2008 21:29

it is wholemeal sourdough rockbread, not nice for toast. v good for sandwich in handbag though.

stuffitllama · 20/04/2008 21:31

sounds like it would be lovely torn up and dipped in olive oil
by the way ate loads and loads of brazil nuts today
nul points but masses of selenium

FrayedKnot · 20/04/2008 21:38

Lol fishie I thought for a minute you were going to use the loaf as a handbag

Could you hollow it out and add a little rustic woven handle?

Franny coleslaw is 2, of course, a good start

How long before bed?

stuffitllama · 20/04/2008 21:40

ages.. too much coffee

TooTicky · 20/04/2008 22:04

stuffitllama · 20/04/2008 22:07

TooTicky · 20/04/2008 22:13

No no, it's a dangly bit of gum or something.

stuffitllama · 20/04/2008 22:25

oh dear, should you join the finger biting and cheek chewing quiche?

TooTicky · 20/04/2008 22:29

Quiche? Heaven forbid! I am vegan

I shall set up a twiddlers society.

BBBee · 20/04/2008 22:30

stuffitllama · 20/04/2008 22:31

OsmosisBanana · 20/04/2008 22:31

I couldn't stay away.

Can someone explain the quiche thing? I know it's some MN thing of old. I must be too new. I'm guessing its a clique play on words thingy?

Oh dear god, I thought having beers would make me more fun, but I'm actually boring myself.

Don't explain the quiche thing, it's more fun tormenting myself not knowing.

Off to have unreasonable sex with DH (I thought you'd want to know Franny)

stuffitllama · 20/04/2008 22:32

definitely can't join the diddlers' quiche then

OsmosisBanana · 20/04/2008 22:33

I was alarmed to see them making stuffed peppers with tofu and cous cous on 'Big Cook Little Cook' today. Is this what childhood has become?! FFS.

OsmosisBanana · 20/04/2008 22:34

I am going now. Honest. Night.

i think he already knew cos i said he is the little boy in my photos and he said i guessed as much

UnderRated · 21/04/2008 01:30

Elevator man is not so nice so not slow-burning romance, I'm afraid.

He was gentlemanly and opened the car door for me and took me to a very fancy restaurant. He seemed a bit disappointed when I said I didn't eat meat. Or fish. "Not even chicken?" Nope. Lunch was ok, and I warmed to him slightly but he seemed reluctant to let me go me home afterwards. He asked if I wanted to go for coffee and I said I didn't. Then he took me home but went the wrong way and started looking for a parking space. I said, "Oh, I thought we were going back" and he said, "Well, have you been to this place before?" I said yes, so we drove to another place where I still did not want coffee. In the end I said I was cold and could we go home. So we did. On the way he said, "UnderRated, I know you were bored today but let me make it up to you" I thought I had been quite nice until being locked in the car. I said we could talk in the week. But in the elevator, he refused to get out at his floor, ignoring my protests that I did not need to be escorted to my apartment. When we got to my apartment, he sort of grabbed my arm and did a weird cheek brush thing so I leapt inside and locked the door.

Now I have to tell him that I am not interested in a very clear way but politely as I have to see him in the building and he knows where I live. Aargh. HEEEELLLLP. Please.

Then the man who I have been chatting with online called me. He was lovely and made me laugh and sounds intelligent and nice. He wants me to visit him. And I'd like to. But having had 2 dates where I got locked in a car by a man who did not want me to go home when I asked to, I am a bit concerned.
