You and your family are in my thoughts. Love to you all, Snowbird xxx

VaginaShmergina · 29/04/2008 16:02

OJ, you should be so proud of yourself, you are doing an amazing job of looking after Steve.

Me thinks, maybe the penny is slowly dropping with the MIL, she'll prob prove me wrong but maybe she can redeem herself a tiny bit even if it is for Steve.

LilRedWG · 29/04/2008 16:16

So sorry OJ. xxx

CarGirl · 29/04/2008 16:18

Much love to you all OJ xx

cositjustisok · 29/04/2008 19:26

So pleased kids got to cuddle Steve before he fell asleep. If all the 3 cakes are not eaten you could make Steve a choc orange trifle with the left overs hope you have a nice restful evening OJ...xx

NotABanana · 29/04/2008 19:34

Oh love.

Please tell us if there is anything at all you want.

currantbunmum · 29/04/2008 19:55

Onlyjoking, you are an amazing inspiring woman, your family are so lucky to have you to hold them together, and of course to make chocolate orange cakes.

I'm so glad to hear the children managed to have a cuddle with their dad this evening, just what they need at the end of the day. Hope you get yours too.

trulymadlydeeply · 29/04/2008 20:07

So sorry to hear that Steve is deteriorating. I hope his pain is well managed.

He is so lucky to have you, OJ. You are just the BUSINESS when it comes to being a fantastic wife, mother and maker of chocolate orange cakes.

I keep hoping that MIL will finally wake up and smell the rum coffee, realise how lucky Steve is to have someone who loves and gives so selflessly and see far enough outside her own bitter life to be able to thank you and offer some support before it really is too late.

Lots of love - wish I could do more than that, but think about you and check in every day, humbled like so many others, by your dignity and positivity in the face of such loss.

XXXXX

ChutneyMary · 29/04/2008 20:09

Oh darling, I am so sorry to read about today. I hope you and Steve have a peaceful night. Sorry too that MIL is at large. It must be doubly difficult for you to have her looming as well. I hope you can get some good answers from the Mac nurse when she is back

Is there anything any of us can do to help? I wish I lived nearer so I could pop a cake over - can I do an internet shop for you? Or an oddbins delivery ? I know you have lots of RL support but would happily do anything which might make the next few weeks easier from a practical point of view.

Much love to you all XXX

lilyloo · 29/04/2008 20:10

OJ x

onlyjoking9329 · 29/04/2008 20:56

support is all we need really. Thankfully we have had loads of that from MN and RL mates, it's just a shame that family can't do that.
i do have a wish list but i know that the things that are on is are not going to happen. Maybe i should have a chocolate and rum list instead

OJ - you amaze me, chocolate orange cake - you truly are an angel you know - i know it sounds silly, but all those little things you do (as well as the big ones) it just humbles me - if ever anyone doubts that true love exists, they should read your story OJ. I only wish it had a happy ending
