yesterday when shopping I had to get birthdays cards for elliot, lovely mac nurse and MIL, blimey it was hard to find one for MIL. My dilema now is do I bother with a pressie?
I think I will get a very small something for Steve to give her thou she will know that I haven got it for her I am just hoping she doesnt chuck it at me, best make it something unbreakable

Give her a framed family photo of you, steve and the kids, a photo which shows a family full of love for each other, something she can't take away from you or spoil with her dispicable behaviour.

Steve slept well last night he woke up at 4.30 am but after some pain meds he went back to sleep, he has only woken twice since then and not woken for very long, i managed to stuff him with a cuppa and a trifle before he went back to sleep.

Mary i am liking the photo frame idea, but given that she may chuck it at me i would need to find one without sharp corners and unbreakable too

You could put the photo on a tea towel.. or maybe let the kids do some baking for her.. don't be too fastidious about the hygiene..

how about get the dcs to help make a frame? IKEA had some very plain wooden ones, which you could spread liberally with PVA, then sprinkle sequins on. Or paint. Or, if they like that sort of thing, wind wool round and round the frame. No reasonable GP could fail to be delighted as Valerie Singleton would say. Also, may be amusing for DCs, illustrates your family solidarity...you win all round.

steve not very good today been asleep most of the time and when he is awake he has been in pain a lot, will speak to Mac nurse to see if anything else will help

i think his morphine will need increasing or they may add something else to the mix, he is settled now for a while and 2 out of 3 kids are asleep, i can't go off to bed just yet cos i kbow steve will probably need more morphine before midnight

Good morning Oj, did you get any sleep, I hope so, I know what thats like, Harry for once was getting a reasonable night and poor Becca woke us up at 2am, crying her eyes out, said she had had a nightmare, but it must be all this on her lovely little mind. So, today life changes, Just got back from school, house empty, H went off at 8am and Becs and I managed not to cry until he was out of sight. Boys seem ok, they have already done two rounds each!! Time to keep busy!

a bit of a rough night last night, steve was late to settle down, i went to bed at 1am and Beth came and got in bed with me at 4am she has a cough so have kept her off school today, Steve has slept lots today again only waking for tea and morphine, he has had 5 extra doses today, his morphine has gone up over the weekend Mac nurse doesn't want to rush to increase his slow release morphine just yet but if he needs this much over a few days then they will increase the slow release stuff.
i have no carer tonight from 8-10 but have some mates coming over so should be ok as long as no unwelcome vistors turn up.
Triplets how did today go for your Harry?

OJ sorry Steve is having a rough time. Sounds like the Mc nurse on the ball though with the morphine. Hope Beth is better soon my dd just getting over a bad cough / sore throat took nearly a week!
