For anyone who wants a boost to their general health. The suggested goals are:

EAT 10 PORTIONS OF FRUIT AND VEGETABLES EVERY DAY - if you don't usually eat much fruit and veg I would build up gradually or you could upset your digestion.

DO (AT LEAST) 10 MINUTES OF EXERCISE EVERY DAY - can be yoga, stretching or something more energetic. The plan is that the idea of doing 10 minutes is not too daunting, and having started you may well find you want to do more.

There are no restrictions on what you eat so long as you get your 10 fruit and veg as well. The focus is not on weight loss but on improving our energy levels and hopefully our general mood and well-being. Sign up below and post here to tell us how you're getting on and how you are feeling.

Basic guidance on what constitutes a portion of fruit and veg here and you can download more detailed information by following the link at the very bottom of the page

No wine? I hadn't had any in months but have had some this week. I think it's not very good for me. I have been drinking copious quantites of peppermint tea. I thought I didn't like it but I realise I actually do And no coffee for ages. [dull]

UnderRated · 27/03/2008 01:40

I seem to have been invited on a date to somewhere that doesn't exist. I mean, if it isn't googleable, surely that's bad?

zippitippitoes · 27/03/2008 01:41

invited on a date? sounds interesting

i mean that if i am up at this time it often menas i have had wine but today i havent

UnderRated · 27/03/2008 01:51

Yeah, not sure about date. Am putting it off for now.

Is no wine good?

I'm eating unethical chocolate and watching persuasion.

FrannyandZooey · 27/03/2008 08:19

LOL about the date to somewhere that doesn't exist

morning fruity types
strawberries, raspberries, grapes, raisins

am too ashamed to say the petty things that ds is doing to annoy me
he is just being nearly 5 but it is getting on my wick
and tiredness doesn't help

Mornin all.

Nothing healthy to report so far but the beer rage has totally subsided. Amazing how quickly a physical addiction can ease. I almost feel efficient, but I only work in the NHS so such things are frowned upon .

Getting the fear about going to uni in Sept.

Hope everyone has a better day today!!

BBBee · 27/03/2008 09:32

hello

I am 34 - can you see my new found maturity? Does it come across in my posting?

Zip - hope you have a good day with dgs and you didn't dream it. Hope everyone is healthier and same for children and spouses.

franny - the being 5 thing becomes a bit wearing at times but don;t worry - if they misbehave it is a sign of deep down security in your love - apparently!

ahundredtimes · 27/03/2008 10:16

Happy birthday, BBB.

ladywombling · 27/03/2008 11:09

Happy Birthday BBBee!

Thanks for all your kind messages, I love Wobblingalong as a name Franny, in fact, it is probably v appropriate, as I feel like I wobble along the periphery of my life, both literally and metaphorically.

I have just read my previous posts back, and I need to apologies for my spelling, I can spell, honestly, I evidently can't type though.

DS is much better, although does not want to be put down. DH is with him as he had holiday booked this week, and I am at work. DH has said he will not be put down to sleep, and is curretly chewing his shoulder as a breast substitute lol!

Went out last night, believe it or not, to incredibly posho restaurant, booked before DS became ill. When we tried to cancel they wanted to charge us £180 cacellation charge, and would not waive it despite the hospital situation.

We couldn't get anyone to take our place, and because DH and I are bloodyminded and could not let them have £180 for nothing, we went. The service was poor, the food was average, with some outstanding dishes, but the markup, extra surcharges for everything, and drinks prices were extortionate for the quality provided.

We had planned to complain about our treatment after the meal, but I was so tired we just paid and left, hoever I am going to write a letter, post a review on restaurant websites and copy in the local papers.

It was v crap, and left me so annoyed, I can't tell you. When they asked us how we had found the meal, and DH started to express his disappointment the Front of House manager and co owner talked over him and walked away!

Any other ideas on how to complain oh wise fruity ones?

zippitippitoes · 27/03/2008 11:14

for future reference with poor restaurant meals you are entitle to only pay what you think the meal was worth

and they can then dispute it with you after

zippitippitoes · 27/03/2008 11:14

and that sounds totally crap wombling

eternalstudent · 27/03/2008 11:15

You could complain to foodie magazines? Olive or the Good Food mag?

zippitippitoes · 27/03/2008 11:33

its a civil offence not a criminal one to not pay for the meal so they take your name and address and then have to let you go and file a claim against you for the money

of course you need to give them the opportunity to rectify things during the meal but if they ignore you then you are within your rights to eother pay what you think it was worth or pay nothing and let them sue you

prorriage oats and raspberries and coffee

zippitippitoes · 27/03/2008 11:35

also i think you could have just refised the cancelation fee and they would have had to sue you for that....did you know they had a cancellation policy? anyway it was clearly unfair/unreasonable so wouldnt have stood up in court

Tatties · 27/03/2008 11:44

Happy Birthday BBBee!

Deary me I am sorry people have been having a crap time, I hope everyone is feeling better.

Wombling I would be furious about the restaurant thing. Word of mouth is very powerful so tell everyone you know

FasterPussyCatGrrrl · 27/03/2008 13:03

wombling- that's disgraceful treatment

well, i've been for a 20 min walk and had a huge tuna salad with rocket, spinach, peppers, cucumber and tomatoes.

also bought a notebook to keep a food diary. i know it's a bit anal but it stops me eating really badly.

eternalstudent · 27/03/2008 13:38

I'm going to do the dreaded Davina DVD later. I'm dreading it.

grapes, tomato salsa, 2 x clementine.

eternalstudent · 27/03/2008 13:39

Urk, dreaded and dreading in the same sentence. My teeth hurt looking at it.

BBBee · 27/03/2008 14:02

agree that is really awful wombling - esp. after all that has happened you could have done with a treat.

IdrisTheDragon · 27/03/2008 14:05

Happy Birthday BBBee .

Your new found maturity shines out from your posts today .

zippitippitoes · 27/03/2008 14:17

well no dgs...i don't know why i fall for this stuff with dd2
