For anyone who wants a boost to their general health. The suggested goals are:

EAT 10 PORTIONS OF FRUIT AND VEGETABLES EVERY DAY - if you don't usually eat much fruit and veg I would build up gradually or you could upset your digestion.

DO (AT LEAST) 10 MINUTES OF EXERCISE EVERY DAY - can be yoga, stretching or something more energetic. The plan is that the idea of doing 10 minutes is not too daunting, and having started you may well find you want to do more.

There are no restrictions on what you eat so long as you get your 10 fruit and veg as well. The focus is not on weight loss but on improving our energy levels and hopefully our general mood and well-being. Sign up below and post here to tell us how you're getting on and how you are feeling.

Basic guidance on what constitutes a portion of fruit and veg here and you can download more detailed information by following the link at the very bottom of the page

Some pavlova left if you want LL...

littlerach · 23/03/2008 17:57

We've been t wagamamas fo rlunch - delicious veggie food actually. Sweet pots, squash, aubergines and other salad veg.

TooTicky, if I'd been on line i oculd have helped, not far from me at all.

Mixture of snow and rain and hail all day, then bright sunshine hwre my sister lives. Very odd.

Boco · 23/03/2008 18:09

Oh no Lully, your poor foot - are you ok?

We have had an Easter egg hunt, then the girls wanted to hide the eggs for us, then we had to hide them again, etc etc - I think my mum's dog sneaked a fair few as each time there were less in the bowls and the dog was standing in corners looking sheepish. Sheepdogish.

I feel like i'm getting flu as have that skin crawling feeling and aching bones. My mum cooked nice big lunch so at least no cooking this evening and can go to bed early. Dp has already gone to bed not really sure why but he beat me to it so I am on skipping rope turning detail.

BBBee · 23/03/2008 18:36

hello

we went to my sister's in cambridge for easter adn was lovely and snowy and we made snow men and had fights.

Sorry you are ill boco, if he is in bed does that mean you get the lie in?

Whilst distracted I told the children they were allowed to sleep downstaris because it was easter I am a wanker sometimes in the parenting stakes.

MrsC - am glad you posted and feel the same as everyone in the kind of good but not way. I throw love in your direction (I think east from here).

I am in crush with wandering trolley - she makes me laugh and I want her on 10/10.

Boco · 23/03/2008 18:42

Hmm, Littlelapin said that she'd removed me from pedestal spot and put WT there instead. And now she has stolen the heart of Bee too. I need to hatch evil plan. I'm going to dig another pit and cover it with leaves and twigs and wait.

lullabyloo · 23/03/2008 18:56

Pah...who is this WT person
I love you Boco

UnderRated · 23/03/2008 18:56

Oh Lully, I feel very and for you. I hope your evening is better than your day has been. How is your foot?

Nice and sunny here but rather cold. Brunch was yum, zoo was good and off out in a while for egg hunt and dinner. My cake is looking wrong though and we had a bit a bit of trouble as one of mum's cases has disappeared. With all her Easter stuff in.

UnderRated · 23/03/2008 19:09

Has the snow cleared up?

What a morning Toots. Glad DP & DD got back ok eventually.

DS has conned mum into taking a nap with him.

filthymindedlurker · 23/03/2008 19:48

just checking in to thank you for your weather vibes - what a fantastic day we have had! Very heavy snow last night but we decided we were committed to going whatever. Anyway, the snow cleared after the boys had had an 8am snowball fight...and though it was cold, we had a fine day, punctuated with rather magical light dry snow mini-showers. I sold 50 masks (and so covered my costs and a tiny profit) and I didn't see my boys for around 5 hours as they blagged free train rides, free ice cream and ran riot on the adventure playground with the other'crew' members' boys....Dh has been voice of an automaton pirate all day and is hoarse and I had my picture (as Molly Roger) taken rather a lot by admiring children.
So. very, tired. now...

filthymindedlurker · 23/03/2008 19:50

I like the idea of throwing love. I'll throw some too, at MrsC, lully, TooT and anyone else who needs some.

FrannyandZooey · 23/03/2008 20:01

Lully your toe! Is there anything you can do when you injure your bad leg?

Boco ds did exactly the same and made us hide the eggs about 7 times. As I had loads of teeny eggs and about 30 fake ones bending down and stretching up to hide and find them every time was really starting to get a bind. My stomach muscles are hurting most of the time, and I am worried about my back. I am enormous at the front just like last time and am not even 6 months pg yet. I am worried how I am going to cope, in general, when starting to feel rather challenged by every day stuff, and in particular, if my back plays up

ds was quite awkward all day actually and was very pleased to see him go to bed I'm afraid. 5.30 am start coupled with not enough lunch and then chocolate in the afternoon a BAD mixture.

have eaten some of my fabulous egg. It was very good but I was conscious each bite was about a quid's worth (it is gorgeously packaged and very good quality but not actually huge, despite appearances in the photo)

I think I am going to cry off whatever is happening tomorrow and do lounging. I am feeling slightly petulant - you know when you feel like you should be being taken care of and nobody is actually noticing? that kind of thing

FMF very glad it was not a wash out
glad to hear about happy days
hope Boco feels better soon

UnderRated · 23/03/2008 20:05

So glad the day went well, FMF.

Lindt is ok - they do not use Cocoa from Ivory Coast

Boco · 23/03/2008 20:08

Thanks Franny. I know exactly how you feel and am being similarly petulant. I've been in a hot bath for an hour trying to stop that shivering feeling and having got the girls ready for bed I really hoped they'd have been directed TO bed, but no. So now I'm ignoring everything and they are on a crashing sugar low and are fighting about personal space in the other room.

FrannyandZooey · 23/03/2008 20:10

ah well yours is justified Boco but I don't think mine is
dp has been very helpful and kind etc but I just need FUSSING OVER and LOVING and I never get that, really

OP posts:
Boco · 23/03/2008 20:14

You need a granny rather than a dp I think. When I feel ill I often think of my grandma - she used to be fab for fussing over, I saw her today - she's 87 now so it's not really the same, but she still does that lovely comforting hand patting and stroking and is kind and adoring. We leaned on each other today, and she said how wonderful everyone was and did smiling and squeezing.

FrannyandZooey · 23/03/2008 20:18

ah no grannies
have never had a relationship with anyone that was like that Boco, I am glad you have
sorry that sounds very woe is me LOL!
are you less shivery now? can you have a very early night?

OP posts:
Boco · 23/03/2008 20:26

Sorry Franny. My gran would give you a squeeze if she could reach, she's very nice. My step dad is supporting Hawkwind tonight at a biker bash. He's a bit scared. He was telling my grandparents today that some of them walk around with their girlfriends on leads and my granddad said 'goodness, what a marvellous idea!' and my grandma made a lunge for him and they roared with laughter, it was sweet.

Am feeling a bit better, have had paracetamol and am wearing several layers. Will go to bed in a little while, when the girls have stopped singing.

lullabyloo · 23/03/2008 20:32

Franny you can share my grandma, she is 91 and my rock
just an incredible soothing prescence in many peoples lives

ds has the same relationship with her that I do which is simply the most wonderful thing.I just wish she was nearer

If i were near I would fuss over you franny
& look after you Boco

I need a wishing chair to fly me about
and a new toe

FrayedKnot · 23/03/2008 20:33

Does anyone have a partner that does do tea and sympathy?

Mine doesn;t, he is absolutley crap at it.

Both in regard to health and emotional ishoos.

Wraps fleecy blanket around 10/10ers and passes the hot water bottles

and chocolate

lullabyloo · 23/03/2008 20:34

ummm....no

stared at me crying with bad toe & said 'ah well a horse stood on mine once...it'll be fine

FrannyandZooey · 23/03/2008 20:36

thanks chaps
dp will do virtually anything if asked (albeit occasionally grumpily ). I know I am v lucky indeed. But you can't say "please will you sit next to me and put your arm round me. Then say nice things to me and cuddle me. Then blah blah blah blah." Well you CAN because I have even done it But it isn't the same somehow.

FrannyandZooey · 23/03/2008 20:36
