For anyone who wants a boost to their general health. The suggested goals are:

EAT 10 PORTIONS OF FRUIT AND VEGETABLES EVERY DAY - if you don't usually eat much fruit and veg I would build up gradually or you could upset your digestion.

DO (AT LEAST) 10 MINUTES OF EXERCISE EVERY DAY - can be yoga, stretching or something more energetic. The plan is that the idea of doing 10 minutes is not too daunting, and having started you may well find you want to do more.

There are no restrictions on what you eat so long as you get your 10 fruit and veg as well. The focus is not on weight loss but on improving our energy levels and hopefully our general mood and well-being. Sign up below and post here to tell us how you're getting on and how you are feeling.

Basic guidance on what constitutes a portion of fruit and veg here and you can download more detailed information by following the link at the very bottom of the page

MrsCarrot · 23/03/2008 08:34

I definitely can't sleep if I eat good dark chocolate late at night. I got a maya gold egg from DH, I love that one.

Dc's are meticulously counting out the basket of little foiled spotty eggs and bunnies, there are too many I think, now that they are all in one place. How do you limit the amount yours eat? We were allowed to eat everything in one go when I was little wheras DH had to have a small pice after breakfast so they lasted unil June. There is a balance I guess.

It is snowing here too, it does feel quite Christmassy.

Pink - Thank you, but I am ok for chocolate at the moment, I expect I will help them with theirs!

MrsCarrot · 23/03/2008 08:35

Oh, no, Toot!

FrannyandZooey · 23/03/2008 08:37

well i don't see wtf you can do from there TooT, I think they will have to sort themselves out (possibly walk home in snow from sound of it )

I wish I could think of sensible suggestion but you've no way of getting petrol to them and you can't contact them, so they'll just have to get themselves home I think

MrsC we bought one packet of the tiny foil eggs to be shared between ds, friend's ds, and whatever the adults eat during the hunt
other presents are non-edible
my giant egg is another matter of course

ladywombling · 23/03/2008 08:38

Oooh Toot, sounds v cold and horrid. Hope someone can help you, we unfortunately, are too far away.

Mrs C, I am glad that they have been able to catch the cancer so early, but am so sorry that the treatment has to be a hysterectomy. Please shout if you want to talk/need anything at all.

TooTicky · 23/03/2008 08:43

Do you think it would be too big a favour to ask a neighbour?

FrannyandZooey · 23/03/2008 08:46

no I don't think so
what would they have to do? drive how far to get them? (with a siphon presumably)
do you usually do each other favours?

OP posts:
TooTicky · 23/03/2008 08:48

I feel as if we probably ask favours more than we are asked - not oftenb though - and usually just borrowing a loo roll or something

TooTicky · 23/03/2008 08:50

problem is, if a local has taken pity on them, it would be pointless sending somebody out....but I don't know what's happening

I would have asked our old nextdoor neighbour,

TigerFeet · 23/03/2008 09:33

MrsC - I'm glad there is treatment for you but sorry it has to be a hysterectomy. Hope you are OK.

Hope dp & dd are OK Toot - I felt such a spanner when I rang Green Flag when I ran out of diesel but they were kind and hardly laughed at me at all

There's about 4 inches of snow here and it's still snowing. DD is ridiulously excited but I am trying to persuade her to eat more breakfast so I can mn a bit so she has energy for playing before we go out and play.

The easter bunny brought her 3 small Lindt bunnies (?ethical status of Lindt? I have no idea) and some deely boppers (another pair) with easter eggs as the dangly bits. I am a sucker for tat that I know she will love

TooTicky · 23/03/2008 09:38

AA on the way - I'd forgotten dp was a member. So had he apparently

Ds1 and ds2 are going wild - desperater to go egg hunting. DD2 miserable - runny nosae and lots of requests for mummy milk. Didn'#t help that when I was on the phone top the AA and the boys were fighting and annoying each other, ds1 pushed ds2 who fell into dd2 who fell into some shelves

TigerFeet · 23/03/2008 09:45

Are you cross that dp ran out Toot? I was furious with dh when we ran out once in the middle of nowhere (pre dd thankfully) because he kept saying it was fine and I knew it wasn't [fume]. We had to walk 2 miles to the petrol station, just to find that there were no petrol cans there, so we had to get a bus to the next petrol station 5 miles away, then a bus back, then walk the 2 miles back to the car. Thankfully it was summer and the weather was nice. I have never let him forget . Such a shame when I ran out myself last year and I lost my superiority in the ability-to-keep-the-car-going stakes.

TooTicky · 23/03/2008 09:48

No, it's just exasperating. Especially today!!!
Your experience sounds like a nightmare!

lullabyloo · 23/03/2008 09:57

oh Toot
what a miserable morning

Heavy snow here...no Hop farm today I guess

left ds's little book & rabbit at the end of his bed & left little easter basket & egg hunt trail outside his bedroom door.

Put his wigwam up in the sitting room & filled it full of cushions, little chicks etc

We had an easter breakfast on his whittards easter set...hardboiled,dyed eggs with our names on & toast...strawberry,banana smoothie & hot cross buns & blueberries.

He has his bunny ears on over his dressing gown hood & is painting daffodils

Boco · 23/03/2008 10:03

MrsC, I'm glad that the appointment was good and he spent time explaining everything so thoroughly - that's so important isn't it.

Sorry that it has to be a hysterectomy, but it's great that soon this will all be over with and you don't have to worry about it coming back or have chemo or anything.

Toot glad AA have gone to the rescue.
