For anyone who wants a boost to their general health. The suggested goals are:

EAT 10 PORTIONS OF FRUIT AND VEGETABLES EVERY DAY - if you don't usually eat much fruit and veg I would build up gradually or you could upset your digestion.

DO (AT LEAST) 10 MINUTES OF EXERCISE EVERY DAY - can be yoga, stretching or something more energetic. The plan is that the idea of doing 10 minutes is not too daunting, and having started you may well find you want to do more.

There are no restrictions on what you eat so long as you get your 10 fruit and veg as well. The focus is not on weight loss but on improving our energy levels and hopefully our general mood and well-being. Sign up below and post here to tell us how you're getting on and how you are feeling.

Basic guidance on what constitutes a portion of fruit and veg here and you can download more detailed information by following the link at the very bottom of the page

dd is playing hide and seek. She is hiding under a blanket on the sofa next to me shouting "you can't FIND ME HERE Mummy"

FrannyandZooey · 02/03/2008 09:43

ds is standing in the back garden in his pyjamas blowing bubbles

I love him a lot more than I did 5 minutes ago when he was waving a big stick at me and playing a kazoo in my ear

TooTicky · 02/03/2008 09:43

I love that sort of hide and seek. Much more fun and less hassle than actually having to roam the house checking cupboards.

TigerFeet · 02/03/2008 09:46

THere is a hand poking out from under the blanket which is attempting to do my typing for me and a little voice shouting "This isn't [dd]'s hand"

She has never seen the Addams Family but perhaps she ought to

Kazoo on a Sunday morning... far, far worse than discussions about polygamy

Bbbee · 02/03/2008 09:47

TooTicky · 02/03/2008 10:16

That sunshinme is deceptive. It is FREEZING out there. Well, the wind is. Have just hung washing and now my toes are numb.

ladywombling · 02/03/2008 10:26

Happy mother's day to all our beautiful vtiman-enriched veggie munching mummies...may sunshine and sparkles abound!

The boys' cake was a triumph and they are horribly proud of themselves. Though it was kind of hard to swallow at 8 am, lavishly enrobed in too-much icing and marshammlows as it was

I overheard my eldest yesterday talking to his girl friend who had come round to admire his kitchen prowess. ''oh yeah, I've been baking my whole life...I've actually invented 2 puddings you know....''

I am very envious and excited by the Raven thing!

Franny those shoes are a thing of beauty - practicality and quirkiness abounding!

100 please don't worry about the clothes, it was a long shot. I have been to every charity shop in town, posted on freecycle and everything. It rather amuses me that scummy old clothes for such trips are at such a premium - I have seen 4 other freecyclers all seeking similar things for similar trips recently

MrsC, if you are around though, I am seriously interested in your trainers - do you have my email?

TooTicky · 02/03/2008 11:58

Anybody want to borrow an 11yo and an 8yo?

FrannyandZooey · 02/03/2008 12:37

Avi the uncontained sandpit is quite full on heuristic business isn't it? Having just spent the best part of 2 days tidying my house I am wibbling at the thought of a pile of sand being spread all over it. The toy tidying thing - you just do it when they are not there. You put a large percentage of it in charity bags and then if you are feeling KIND you can put these in a holding bay, where they can be rescued from when sad dc says "but where is my ???" However IME they never do so I just take them straight to Oxfam. Then you get the remainder into some kind of order, which they stay in for about 2 mins until your child comes back.

When you next have friends round and they STILL say "my GOD ds has got a lot of toys!" then you can cry. But this won't happen to you as I bet you only have about 3 pieces of bark and a Steiner doll anyway [aaaargh at my house STILL full of broken plastic emoticon]

I really like "I've actually invented 2 puddings you know". Was she impressed?

Ds invented a pudding once but it involved marmite and so never got past the planning stages

OP posts:
filthymindedvixen · 02/03/2008 13:30

rofl at marmite pudding...

filthymindedvixen · 02/03/2008 13:37

Toot - have considered your generous offer
of the 11 and 8 year old, but regretfully must say no - have just entertained single friend's 2 boys for a couple of hours to give her a little vestige of 'me' time
and I rapidly lost any veneer of patient lovely Auntie FMV and resorted to barking and screeching ''OFF the furniture, OFF!'' while we tried to play Cadoo [Yawn].
why do they need to bounce and climb and jump constantly while playing a board game FFS!

Sigh. Will go and drop huge hints to dh about park I think
so I can lounge and read papers and nurse tiny hangover sugary-cake induced headache.

FrannyandZooey · 02/03/2008 14:40

calling Boco here are the shoes which are not that exciting but may go with a tea dress type outfit if you decide on one? I couldn't photograph the ring decently, but it is a cocktail ring with several stones in pale greeny colours and goes nicely with the shoes (which are probably a shade greener and lighter than they look in the photo)
anyway you would be welcome to borrow either if it would save you some money

anyone else feeling nosey there is a fab photo of ds wearing his prince costume on there also

FrannyandZooey · 02/03/2008 14:43

FMF how fab of you to give your friend a break
I have been cleaning and tidying and just had a nice lunch inc salad
dp is going to take ds to the park - I think I am coming for a token gesture
