For anyone who wants a boost to their general health. The suggested goals are:

EAT 10 PORTIONS OF FRUIT AND VEGETABLES EVERY DAY - if you don't usually eat much fruit and veg I would build up gradually or you could upset your digestion.

DO (AT LEAST) 10 MINUTES OF EXERCISE EVERY DAY - can be yoga, stretching or something more energetic. The plan is that the idea of doing 10 minutes is not too daunting, and having started you may well find you want to do more.

There are no restrictions on what you eat so long as you get your 10 fruit and veg as well. The focus is not on weight loss but on improving our energy levels and hopefully our general mood and well-being. Sign up below and post here to tell us how you're getting on and how you are feeling.

Basic guidance on what constitutes a portion of fruit and veg here and you can download more detailed information by following the link at the very bottom of the page

I have been feeling quite bad about still not managing to do proper exercise
(have been feeling loads better but still quite knackered most of the time)
just realised today I do virtually 2 hours of (albeit gentle) sport every Saturday morning and also work doing physical stuff two other days a week
I am sure shaking a parachute vigorously must count towards my 10

anyway am knackered and had to walk home at snail's pace as too windy to cycle and my tummy was aching, like a stitch feeling

lovely to see everyone here

Oh no, Franny, you are exempt if you don;t feel up to it, and of course you are doing exercise with work etc

I did an antnatal exercise class for a few weeks, we mostly sat on those big round balls or rolled aorund laughing at the pelvic floor exercises

Teacher used to say "imagine you're inhaling a fag up your fanjo"

She was funny

FrannyandZooey · 01/03/2008 14:06

I think I am up for it though, and I think it would help me feel more energetic, but I have to go and lie down urgently after even a couple of hours at work, so the thought of shagging myself out voluntarily has not appealed

I feel unfit though, and breathless, and tired, and porky

Ooh Saturday morning delight

Mrs C, were your raspberries from Peru from the garden nice?

Titles... I don't know, I am crap at titles

filthymindedvixen · 01/03/2008 17:20

TooT and 100 - (and anyone else who has/knows an older boy ) this is a looong shot -

I am desperately in need of an old pair of trainers for ds to wreck when he goes on an outward bound holiday. I don't suppose anyone knows anyone with a pair of size 2.5 or size 3 ready-for-charity-shop? I also need old jogging bottoms/tracksuit trousers.

The kit list says minumum 4 pairs and I only have 2...he is 10 but quite slim...

I have posted on 'wanted' but no response so far probably as I don't want a bogeypoo zapata with a quinny muff

MrsCarrot · 01/03/2008 17:48

I have some size 2.5/3 Adidas trainers ds1 has just grown out of. They are blue and green.

MrsCarrot · 01/03/2008 17:49

not sure about joggers though, he still wears his slightly too small ones for athletics. Will have a look.

ahundredtimes · 01/03/2008 17:51

I have joggers but no trainers.

Have weird shell-suit like ones which someone gave tall ds2 which he never wears because of the 'rustling'. I also have some Gap grey jogger things.

This is going to sound mad - but can I have them back after? DS1 and DS2 are going on similar in the summer term, and I know they will need them. I don't care that they are muddy or torn or whatever, because they need them to get them filthy.

filthymindedvixen · 01/03/2008 18:15

Oh Mrs C, Please could I have the trainers - I will pay postage!
100, I'd rather not take your joggers as I really couldn't guarantee they'd make it back home in one piece - or at all...
But you can glady have any of the items I cobble together if they do come back, for your ds's summer trip.

They (school) assume that the children have a veritable Marcos-ian collection of shoes, including a spare pair of trainers which 'don't matter'. Well my dc have school shoes, wellies and 'a' pair of trainery shoes for weekends and er, that's it!
Ditto with the other stuff.

I mean, the kit list for the ativities - not including 'mufti' for evenings - states as a minimum
4 pairs tracksuit bottoms/joggers
3/4 fleeces/
an anorak
A kaghoul
3/4 thermal style vests/tops
4 pairs extra thick socks

well, bloody hell, that is my son's entire wardrobe! And these are all clothes which we are expected to not worry if they get ripped/wrecked. Gah!

filthymindedvixen · 01/03/2008 18:22

And franny, did we ever use your vegtastic Kinks title? can't remember it but was the village green appreciaition society one. I loved that title....

FrannyandZooey · 01/03/2008 18:26

oh
ah well
oh if you INSIST

Bbbee · 01/03/2008 18:26

filthymindedvixen · 01/03/2008 18:33

I've had an unexpextedy nice day. After our delightful start to the day , read a book, bimbled round house, went out for lunch, bimbled round nice market town, came home, went to allotment, dh has made pizza for dinner and then I am round to friend's to drink mucho wine and to create one of our famous decorated cakes for her ds's birthday. Tis to be a castle

filthymindedvixen · 01/03/2008 18:34

my keyboard is p,aying up, scuse rando spellings

Tatties · 01/03/2008 18:39

I have had a nice day too
Something to do with it being sunny when I woke up and dp voluntarily taking ds out for a couple of hours I think

Tatties · 01/03/2008 18:40

Oh and FMV will you email me with vague measurements of your teapot please when you get chance?

Bbbee · 01/03/2008 19:09

why does 'vague measurements of your teapot' sound a bit ?

or it could be the title of a kinks song..
