For anyone who wants a boost to their general health. The suggested goals are:

EAT 10 PORTIONS OF FRUIT AND VEGETABLES EVERY DAY - if you don't usually eat much fruit and veg I would build up gradually or you could upset your digestion.

DO (AT LEAST) 10 MINUTES OF EXERCISE EVERY DAY - can be yoga, stretching or something more energetic. The plan is that the idea of doing 10 minutes is not too daunting, and having started you may well find you want to do more.

There are no restrictions on what you eat so long as you get your 10 fruit and veg as well. The focus is not on weight loss but on improving our energy levels and hopefully our general mood and well-being. Sign up below and post here to tell us how you're getting on and how you are feeling.

Basic guidance on what constitutes a portion of fruit and veg here and you can download more detailed information by following the link at the very bottom of the page

Yes, she wasn't sure if she was meant to colour it in so she hasn't yet. She is very fond of seahorses.

Obviously by the time we got to the minor injuries unit she was fine and able to play with the toys.

FrannyandZooey · 28/02/2008 22:00

oh lord TooT

MrsC you can tell her from me she has full permission to colour it
I imagine it was pretty ruddy squashed to fit it into the envelope though

I hope everybody is well. I haven't been able to keep up properly recently.

lullabyloo · 28/02/2008 22:04

hmmmmmmmm
what is everone doing for their mothers?

I have found out where mine is now & was going to order flowers...but I am guessing she would prefer money..as ever....& a six page poetic sloppy hallmark card full of spew

lullabyloo · 28/02/2008 22:06

oh Toot...poor dd
How did she do it?

Ds went to bed in a sulk because the boiler men wouldn't let him help.

TooTicky · 28/02/2008 22:09

Ds2 was holding onto her arm and leaping up and down. Just high spirits.

I don't actually do anything for my mum
She does for hers but I think she feels a bit obligated. It's a guilt thing, isn't it? I don't expect anything either though.

Tatties · 28/02/2008 22:10

Oh dear TooT!

Mothers Day - I think like birthdays, dp gets a card and present from ds. They will go to the supermarket so ds can choose some "biscuits" for me (chocolates) then ds will tell me what is is before helping me open them and saying, "Can I have one or two?"

But thinking about it, Mother's Day may just be a card (which I am perfectly happy with) and if there is a present just something small.

Tatties · 28/02/2008 22:13

God there is crashing in the kitchen. Dp has broken stuff. Do I dare go in?

Boco · 28/02/2008 22:14

Dp is making his mother a card right now. I should probably find that quite touching, but have been doing

lullabyloo · 28/02/2008 22:15

I just want to to spend the day with ds
I have planned a nice lunch out & then a walk in the woods ds loves...rather than visit his mother & spending all day in the car, eating plastic sandwiches & drinking stewed tea & having to bite my tongue while she insults me & barks at ds.

or am I mean?

MrsCarrot · 28/02/2008 22:16

he is making his mother a card and he won't take the girls to the shop to buy you your favourite treat/tipple/triple choc wotsit?

Shame on him

You must inform him of the correct procedure.

lullabyloo · 28/02/2008 22:16

wow Boco
making his mother a card?

lullabyloo · 28/02/2008 22:17

quite Mrs C

perhaps we need a mother's day etiquette round robin to all the males

MrsCarrot · 28/02/2008 22:19

I must visit my mother, which is always an experience, and then I will feel guilty that DH's mother is dead and that I should be grateful mine is alive, and of course I am, but, she is annoying.

lullabyloo · 28/02/2008 22:21

oh woe
I havn't seen mine for two years

Boco · 28/02/2008 22:22

Yes. Making one. For HIS mother.
It's a bit weird isn't it?

He just said 'are you coming to bed?'
and I said snippily 'i'm just finding out about correct mother's day procedures actually'
and he did eye rolling and sighing.

lullabyloo · 28/02/2008 22:23

lol Boco
good for you

shall I write him a list?

Boco · 28/02/2008 22:25

Ah, he won't listen Lully.

But it's fine because dd1 has written me a story for mothers day about 5 sisters called 'Jennifer, Lovey, Housey, Broonstick and Mrs Caroline.' So that's fine.

lullabyloo · 28/02/2008 22:28

ahhhhhhhhh...well that's the lovliest present

IdrisTheDragon · 28/02/2008 22:31

Hello. I am sad because DS and DD's lovely childminders can only look after them for another month as the mother childminder's sister is v ill and she has to look after her.

This is obviously sad but as I only found out today I am still sad (and also worrying about finding new childcare etc).

Have eaten broccoli and cauliflower.

IdrisTheDragon · 28/02/2008 22:32

I need to post a card to my mum tomorrow or it won't get there in time. I keep meaning to post it and keep forgetting.

ahundredtimes · 28/02/2008 23:07

I am just popping in to say that dh does NOT buy me things for mother's day. The DCs make things usually, I don't think anything happened before they made a card, or a bit of paper, and last year ds1 brought me breakfast in bed.

Just so you know Boco. But I shall be listening with interest to the correct proceedure when it is outlined.

I never do anything for my mother. She also thinks it is marketing hype and has always flatly refused to partake. But that is my mother, and perhaps not the best guide.

FrannyandZooey · 29/02/2008 08:06

There was a whole MN email about this, did you not get it? My tip was the best OF COURSE

ds and dp both being arses

oh ds slept through till about 5.50 am before needing a wee. This is quite good. I was already awake as dp had been SNORING for about an hour. So I lay there planning every detail of Greeny's visit next week in triplicate. She will be pleased

banana, pear, melon, grapes, raisins
