For anyone who wants a boost to their general health. The suggested goals are:

EAT 10 PORTIONS OF FRUIT AND VEGETABLES EVERY DAY - if you don't usually eat much fruit and veg I would build up gradually or you could upset your digestion.

DO (AT LEAST) 10 MINUTES OF EXERCISE EVERY DAY - can be yoga, stretching or something more energetic. The plan is that the idea of doing 10 minutes is not too daunting, and having started you may well find you want to do more.

There are no restrictions on what you eat so long as you get your 10 fruit and veg as well. The focus is not on weight loss but on improving our energy levels and hopefully our general mood and well-being. Sign up below and post here to tell us how you're getting on and how you are feeling.

Basic guidance on what constitutes a portion of fruit and veg here and you can download more detailed information by following the link at the very bottom of the page

lol - we plump for first place that looks decent but I am always tormented by the feeling that everyone else is somewhere much nicer...
AND I am rubbish at making decisions!

filthymindedvixen · 15/02/2008 18:19

oh I want to come down and paint it for you! How very lovely and thoughtful you guys are.

FrayedKnot · 15/02/2008 18:20

Oh no I can;t bear that

Have to have everything researched and planned to the nth degree before we depart in case we end up not finding the right place or thing

Although MrsC it sounds like this was more bad luck

DH hates planning stuff but I can;t bear it, I have nightmares about things like that

ahundredtimes · 15/02/2008 18:23

April! Is it well hidden in the garage?

I do the trailing still Zip. I need to move on to where you are. I go in and come out and say 'Nope' and everyone groans, and I say 'I think I spied something about a mile back. I think it had a nice colour door' and everyone groans again.

It's not good. I am trying to compensate by researching. I now do research to try and stop the trailing everyone around.

In Lyme I will say 'I KNOW the place with the freshest fish is X. I KNOW the best fossils will be found there.'

It is not impulsive. It is annoying and my family hate me. But I am trying. [rustles lists and maps]

FrannyandZooey · 15/02/2008 18:24

FMF I think getting you down here to paint it is probably beyond the call of friendship, but if you could tell us what we should be doing with it we would be extremely grateful
I assume it does need some kind of weather proofing? I think it may have to stay tatty but we had better not let it rot I suppose. How do we do it? We obv need something very non toxic?

ZippiBabes · 15/02/2008 18:26

tho exh used to have huge rows with waiters and stuff which always ruined any potentialy enjoyable occasion as we all sat mortified

FrannyandZooey · 15/02/2008 18:27

yes it is hidden well behind all our other bunch of crap prized belongings in the garage

also neighbour has super kindly said we can put it in theirs if we want

FrannyandZooey · 15/02/2008 18:27

rowing with staff during an event in inexcusable

send a revoltingly rude letter afterwards and never go back

ZippiBabes · 15/02/2008 18:28

i am clearing out ds bedroom

and i can't believe that the turkish guy who went to turkey and whom i have been chatting too for months and he came back is now going back to turkey just as we are getting round to meeting up

FrannyandZooey · 15/02/2008 18:29

LOL dp and ds just went out for a 'star walk'

they lasted 2.5 minutes before coming back saying "gosh it's cold"

ZippiBabes · 15/02/2008 18:29

red balloon guy

ZippiBabes · 15/02/2008 18:30

lol it is cold im sure cos it feels cold in here

zippi reminds herself not to think about swimming next week

filthymindedvixen · 15/02/2008 18:32

my sister used to do that - no matter where we went, or how posh it was she would find faults, carp about it and start a row...she is very bolshy anyway

I'll join Control Freaks Anonymous with you chaps. DH was laughing at me because when he sprang this boat trip on me, in between packing I was on here researching things to do and places to go - even down to cafes in stratford.

I saw one which billed itself as serving 'Tradtional English Fayre' which put my teeth on edge - especially as they were serving panini's (sic)

ZippiBabes · 15/02/2008 18:34

ha bolshy tick short fuse tick downright aggressive tick

whoops better stop that

ahundredtimes · 15/02/2008 18:42

Well it's sensible really.

Because if you do find the place with egyptian cotton sheets then that is great. And if you just pitch up and sleep on nylon sheets then that is annoying, especially as you will see the egyptian cotton sheet place on your first day out, and it will have pale blue shutters and an apple tree in the garden and you will cry.

ahundredtimes · 15/02/2008 18:46

[brings out french holiday photographs]

TooTicky · 15/02/2008 18:46

Hope it all goes well MrsC.

Fmv, I suppose you couldn't go and live in the boat?

100x, my dad had a bus when I was a baby. A double decker.

Got to go. Apparently I'm not allowed to sit down for a bit.

ahundredtimes · 15/02/2008 18:48

AND thick linen napkins.

And gingham bread baskets.

And a spare room.

But I'm SO OVER that experience now, as you can probably tell.

filthymindedvixen · 15/02/2008 18:51

TooT - it has been discussed

But it is too small

ahundredtimes · 15/02/2008 18:53

And then you come back and people say 'Oh did you go to X? It's just close to where you were staying. They are so nice there, it's run by a husband and wife and they grow their own vegetables and took the baby in the kitchen while we ate. She's a famous artist and showed us around her studio, and he's fascinating. And the food was amazing'

and you say,

'No, we ate at Happy English Pub in the harbour'

And then if you are me, you grind your teeth about it.

ahundredtimes · 15/02/2008 18:54

[bows]

FrannyandZooey · 15/02/2008 18:58

oh arrgh
I may need counselling for that now you have told me about it 100

Boco · 15/02/2008 19:17

Tenerife was a bit like that - we found the authentic Spanish tapas place with the amazing food on the last night - and it was fully booked - and instead we had to eat in the italian restaurant run by german people where their version of tapas involved jam.

Dp just made the worst dinner i've ever had, which may be very ungrateful, but really, it was baaaaad. Some kind of gammon broth. I feel like i should be wearing rags and huddling up to my goat for warmth from the harsh siberian winds. It was very dry gammon, with barely cooked cabbage in a watery broth with bits of uncooked bean and potato and lead to a big row which somehow lead into mortgage deals and how we have to tighten our belts and this is what we're going to be eating from now on! Jeez. Dp is feeling dramatic and miserable. He's gone to the shed.

Luckily, we had a mango and thank god it wasn't cunting.

filthymindedvixen · 15/02/2008 19:21

Agh I habve to write a poem by tomorrow night. I thought I could just read a good poem but no, I have to WRITE something.
There was a young hippy called mooney

All these people with boats We had one when I was little. A big blue one. My parents used to sail around the coast with me tied to the mast For some reason, I thought Franny's was going to be an old wooden rowing boat rather than a pedal one. Not that it matters if it is for sand anyway.

Sorry about your bad day, MrsC Will be thinking of you on Wednesday.

I used to be much less decisive when I was with my ex. Not sure why but it is much easier this way. I do spend hours researching stuff though and when it comes to ordering food, I am terrible. I can pick what I want but no matter what it is, someone else's food always looks better. I feel for you, ahundred, I have been there too! And Boco's story about jam tapas just goes to show - one must research.

We've been swimming today - was lovely. I just try not to think about all the yuck that is in the water.

My blueberries were rubbish this week. Even DS didn't like them and I've never seen him refuse a blueberry.

Spilt pea soup so far. Raspberries later. It doesn't look like we'll make it to 10 today.
