onlyjoking9329 · 22/02/2008 22:51

thanks for all your kind messages SalVolatile that was a beautiful post.
have had a battle at the hospital, the hospice consultant wants steve admited to the hospice tomorrow, the hospital doctor was saying if blood test ok then he has to come home, i used the hospital phone to talk to the hospice consultant and then passed the phone over to the senior nurse and stood well back.
the senior nurse said if blood results were ok then steve had no medical need and would be discharged home, the consultant said if they did that then they were being negligent.
i spoke to consultant afterwards and she advised that i refused to take steve home, she says she will be complaining.
anyway blood results are back and things are not good with steves liver so they have kept him in
Steve of course wants to come home. i would love to have him home but i know i can't keep him safe here

Bless the mac nurse..... what an absolute angel on your shoulder.

You stand and scream at the top of your voice on the ward if they try and send Steve back home.

What complete incompetence.

The hospice is the best place for Steve where he can get the care he deserves and you will hopefully get the support.

Goodnight OJ, take comfort in the fact that we all walk with you.

xxxxxx

Hello Oj,
Been away since last Sat but even though I can hardly keep my eyes open I needed to know how things are with Steve, you and the kids. So much has happened in the last few days, I am so desperately sad for you, so angry for you, the unfairness of all this. I too got home to some news, my friens in Holland has just found out she has breast cancer and is already scheduled to go into hospital on the 12th March to have the breast removed. I am devastated for her, we have known each other for 30 years, she and her son spent the w/end with us three weeks before my Matthew died(how I hate typing those words), the last photo taken of Matthew was taken by her. In 2003 her son, her only child, committed suicide, he jumped off the highest building in their town, he was 24. She only has her mother, she has had a severe stroke and has dementia, so my friend at this time, is very alone and frightened. Why? The question I have asked myself so many many times.

Remotew · 23/02/2008 00:36

Dont know you but have seen a couple of threads and would like to say hugs to you and stevexxxxx

theheadgirl · 23/02/2008 07:30

Morning OJ - just logged on to see how your night went. Stay strong, don't be bullied into letting them discharge Steve home. You are right, its the hospice he needs, and I'm pleased you have the backing of the nurse and the consultant.
Lots of love, have been thinking of you all xx

ChutneyMary · 23/02/2008 07:48

Hope you got some sleep OJ. Stay strong and hope today is kind to you. AM thinking of you and sending lots of positive vibes your way. Big love XXXXX

[Triplets, am so sorry to read your sad news too. I hope you are OK]

Sorry to hear that you have to battle with the hospital on top of all your worry about Steve. Thank God the consultant and the Mac nurse are supporting you. And you know that thousands of MNetters are here to give you a virtual shoulder to lean/cry/rage on.

Triplet
{{hugs}} for you too, sorry to hear your friend is having such a shitty time.
