To ask you to tell me a site for ordering urgent antibiotics for my tooth

I've got an problematic wisdom tooth. It's flared up and gone away again over the years, with the dentist not recommending extraction, but I haven't been seen since before the pandemic (though it hasn't flared up during that time, either).

It suddenly started up the day before last, was managing it with paracetamol and clove oil but last night it deteriorated. Awake overnight, more of a sharp pain which is unbearable when painkillers run out, feeling generally ill rather than just toothache.

The dentist cannot see me until next week. I tried my doctor for antibiotics and they totally dismissed the idea, even though I said I have been hospitalised with an infected tooth in the past and I can recognise that it is the same situation and I am feeling worse fairly rapidly, and I wouldn't even need to see a GP, just the prescription over the phone would be fine. I phoned 111 but am still waiting for a call back. Even so, I have used them in this area before and they didn't get me a dentist appointment.

I am running out of time, I can feel myself getting in more and more pain and feeling more unwell. My left hand is tingling and my face is a little swollen on the affected side.

I need antibiotics tomorrow or the day after. A simply amoxycillin prescription that I've had many times before. Can anyone recommend me one of those sites where you can order them directly? I would really appreciate it as I am desperate.

You could also try push doctor
my other half used them for antibiotics for a chest infection

it’s a video call with an online doctor who assess you and then prescribes

you book a time that’s convenient to you
there is an initial assessment I think that’s free to see if they can help you

if they can you pay online for the face to face consultation
if prescribed they send it to your nearest pharmacy
you pay the prescription fee and the the cost of the appointment and the treatment

I think about a year ago this cost £60 for everything including the prescription

I used to get recurring infections from impacted wisdom tooth. Corsodyl mouthwash or spray was very good at controling the infection if I got it early enough.

I agree I don't think Amoxicillin is the best antibiotics for dental infection.

Totally understand your despair and hopefully 111 will deliver for you.

Irresponsible thread

Idiotic even

It's idiotic to leave people in pain for a week. Desperate times call for desperate measures.

OP have called round all the dentists in your area? I know it's a massive chore when you're not well but my OH had a painful infection tooth. The local dental hospital wasn't taking walk-ins and he wasn't registered with a dentist. We ended up ringing every dentist within 10 miles and eventually found one that had an emergency appointment for the next morning. I hope you manage to get something sorted soon.
