ZOE NUTRITION NEW THREAD- anyone want to join in?

LisaLovedUp · 20/11/2022 08:37

I've started a new thread as my previous one was titled for techie stuff.
If anyone is fairly new to this please join in and we can share!

I am now on Day 4. All tests done and now recording my food each day. It takes me ages as my phone is slow (needs replacing) and some things I eat aren't listed (it relies a lot on packaged foods.)

eg yesterday I made a veggie curry and the only options were branded readymade ones so I just had to pick one I felt was close enough, rather than itemise every veggie in the one I made.

I noticed this as some 'negative' feedback on another platform.

Has everyone/anyone done the advanced health questionnaire? I started it but gave up. I felt it was more for their data gathering (which is fine to an extent) but also very intrusive and I didn't want to give my personal medical history when it may not be 100% safe from hackers.

I'm going to feedback on this to them.

My blood sugar readings so far are in the 4 - 5.4 range mainly although on a couple of mornings it was below 4. The highest was 7.3 after a sweet dessert ( a one-off for me - out with friends) plus ice cream.

Any tips from more experienced users welcome!

Thanks - spoke to online GP last night and they want me to do a blood test. Getting one is another thing! Hopefully it’s nothing sinister and just normal for me. Went down to 3.1 at about 11 last night!

Does sound sensible to get it checked out. Good luck!

ModeWeasel · 15/05/2023 12:36

If anyone needs a Zoe referral code feel free to PM me. I have three.

Madcats · 18/05/2023 12:00

HELP!

Can somebody remind me how to add online recipes? I am sure it was really obvious as I have added a few but can't seem to figure out how I was able to add them. Thanks

redrobin75 · 18/05/2023 14:17

@Madcats , did you get this email yesterday from Zoe?

ZOE NUTRITION NEW THREAD- anyone want to join in?
Madcats · 18/05/2023 16:44

Oh brilliant. Thank you redrobin75. I KNEW that I had seen it recently (and swear that button wasn't there this morning) but I assumed that it was in a lesson in the past week.

It's really useful BTW

Madcats · 18/05/2023 16:50

Oh I wish I could edit.... I've just imported a recipe from MOB kitchen and Zoe have subbed some of the ingredients (in this case garlic and ginger paste was replaced by garlic powder). So it is best to follow the original recipe, not what Zoe imports for you.

Has anyone who signed up for June got their kit yet? A friend got hers weeks ago and Zoe said mine would be sent maybe end of the month!! Not impressed at all.

Reereeree · 04/06/2023 09:56

Morning all, so today is finally my test day! Monitor successfully applied yesterday and I’ve been obsessively looking at the Libre app since 😂 …not a fan of having a big yellow Zoe sticker over it with this weather mind.

Just finished my breakfast muffin challenge - did anyone else find these absolutely revolting? Very difficult to try and eat within 15 minutes and I feel sick 🤢 not looking forward to lunch but hoping they are more edible. Do I start logging my food from dinner onwards in the Zoe app? Not sure how difficult this will be as I have Gusto meal kits but we’ll see. Time to start reading up on how to do my next 2 tests 🤞🏼

Reereeree · 04/06/2023 10:04

…also some articles online mention having three packs of muffins, I only have 2 but I’m not complaining 🙊

Madcats · 04/06/2023 10:43

Those muffins were grim. When I tested a couple of months back it was definitely just the two lots of muffins on day 1.

I started logging food immediately, but I don't think you had to.

tennissquare · 04/06/2023 11:29

@Reereeree It's definitely 3 muffins for breakfast and 2 muffins for lunch. Read the blood test instructions really carefully.
The Facebook page is really good, it has lots of traffic and quicker to ask there than the chat function. (It's answered by other users, not Zoe).

tennissquare · 04/06/2023 11:32

@Reereeree the food you log for the first 3 days help calculate your results. It's good to be mindful over the 2 weeks of the wearing the monitor and the challenges are optional.
The hardest time to log is between taking monitor off and getting results because you don't have any scores and the results are just for you. Once you get your results the app backdates the scores so you can see good food combinations etc during that time.

Reereeree · 04/06/2023 11:47

@tennissquare I don’t have Facebook but thanks for the info re logging 😊 would love to see a QR code in these leaflets to a video walkthrough, might have a quick look on YouTube…

tennissquare · 04/06/2023 16:57

@Reereeree , I hope the blood test went ok, I ended up doing it 3 times over 6 weeks!
Best of luck and don't hesitate to ask any questions because the app isn't that straight forward and the chat function can be very slow.
Also I didn't do the challenges as dont eat the suggested foods. If I had the monitor again I would try out more of the "glucose goddess" hacks to flatten your sugar curves. Glucose goddess is on Instagram!

Reereeree · 04/06/2023 17:11

@tennissquare thank you, I’m not sure if I’ve done the test right - the strip itself said to add drops until the blood reaches the first line, but the leaflet said to fill up the square and not overfill it. After leaving an hour, it didn’t travel any further but I’ve posted it off anyway 🤞🏼 Looking forward to dinner now after a day of muffins 😂 oh yes, I follow her on Instagram, I’ve tried the vinegar hack a few times but it hasn’t become part of my routine yet. Have you tried any of the hacks?

tennissquare · 04/06/2023 17:43

Yes I try the vinegar one and I try and eat fibre first in a meal.

You can always send the chat a photo of your posted blood card and they can advise as if it's no good they can send you another set of muffins/ blood test.

Reereeree · 05/06/2023 12:05

@tennissquare yes they said via chat that my card was no good so they are sending out a new test… luckily I don’t have to eat the muffins again though 😅

Icannoteven · 20/07/2023 19:09

I’ve started Zoe this week and my cgm results have been pretty illuminating. My blood sugar has ranged between 2.9 and a 12.1, with a big spike after meals followed by a crash. Very spikey around midnight too. I think I have had around 8 low glucose events over the past 4 days.

I clicked on this thread to find out if other people’s ranges were so extreme but the posts I have read so far suggest not 🫤 I wonder if I should see a GP?

HouseofRisk · 21/07/2023 07:29

Hi folks,

I have just received a new code from Zoe. This one gives 10% off to new subscribers, which is unusual, so thought I’d share for anyone who is thinking about the joining the gang! 😂

Get 10% off at ZOE

I recently used ZOE and they gave me a special offer to share with my friends. I’m treating you to an exclusive 10% off your ZOE programme. I’ll also get a reward, so it’s a win-win!

HouseofRisk · 21/07/2023 07:33

Hi,

I had almost the same readings as you, and got it checked my GP. My thoughts were, better safe than sorry. They reassured me about the fluctuation (mine was worse during the night).
however through diet changes via Zoe, I took a retest with the doctors and mine have improved (less highs and lows).

Hope this helps!

Cheeesus · 30/07/2023 14:00

Hi everyone. Just thought I’d say hello in case anyone is currently doing this. I am on my test day. Just about to drink a bit more water in advance of the finger prick.

Looks like I’m better with fat than sugar:

Cheeesus · 30/07/2023 15:06

Argh I think I have too much blood in my test. Had to little, stabbed another finger and now I think it’s too much.

tennissquare · 30/07/2023 15:32

If you go in the Facebook group UK Zoe nutrition chat (unofficial) there will be other people starting today too.
