Not sure this is the right place for this...

Anyone else doing the Zoe Nutrition Testing?

My results were poor, so now I'm tackling my diet. I thought it was pretty good but it's clear it needs a major overhaul. So much information but finding it good.🙂

Has anyone who referred others have that show up on their account yet? I sent my referral link to a few people via MN and I know one person signed up, but it hasn’t registered on my account

I had this email, haven’t started the tests yet so can’t see much in the app anyway.

I haven't gone above 8 on anything yet including my muffins or the ice cream I had yesterday but I am worried that my morning readings are high - they are just over 6.

I was thrilled to see banana didn't make me spike :).

I do appear to have Covid now and have been asleep this afternoon so stress levels are low.

Flockameanie · 04/07/2022 19:45

Thanks @QueenofWhatever I haven’t even had that message. Hmmm…

FinallyHere · 04/07/2022 20:32

My sensor 'ran out' on 24th June, I was expecting my report four weeks later, within the 4-6 week timescale.

Fingers crossed it really does arrive on 15th June instead.

I enjoyed the sensor so much that I have ordered a couple more, so I can monitor once I get my results.

@lugeforlife hope you’re feeling ok.

my morning readings are also a bit high. I am hoping to start to see them reduce over the next few weeks.

MassiveSalad22 · 04/07/2022 22:22

Oh @lugeforlife hope you’re feeling better quick sharp!

lugeforlife · 05/07/2022 05:50

Thank you - feeling alright. Very woolly headed and full of cold. I am hopeful I stay like this and don't get worse but I'm not really sleeping great.

I have overnight oats for my breakfast which I am very excited to try. I've always struggled with oats, never found porridge filling etc so be very interested in seeing how this shows up.

chutneypig · 05/07/2022 05:58

Sorry to hear that @lugeforlife and that your symptoms don't get any worse. It'll be interesting to see what happens with the overnight oats.

Once I've got day 4 out the way, I'm looking to see how my breakfast smoothies go - I usually rotate four different ones and I expect some will be better than others.

ladyandthechocolate · 05/07/2022 06:30

@chutneypig i’ll be interested to know how you get on with your breakfast smoothies. What normally goes in yours? Mine is frozen berries, frozen spinach, flaxseeds, almond milk and protein powder. I am hoping it should be ok? I’m also day 4 today.

MassiveSalad22 · 05/07/2022 06:42

Ah shit my fasting bloods have been 6.0 2 mornings in a row which means prediabetes. But I guess that’s good to know and what this study is for!

ladyandthechocolate · 05/07/2022 07:15

@MassiveSalad22 mine aren’t far behind yours at around 5.7 for 3 mornings in a row. I am shocked actually because for all intents and purposes my lifestyle is generally healthy.

chutneypig · 05/07/2022 07:17

@lugeforlife DH got me a gut health book last year and they recommended cycling to get a wider range of foods in. The base is oat milk, cinnamon, banana and oats. I've added in chia seeds and protein powder. Then on top of the base I either have peanut butter or frozen berries or avocado.

lugeforlife · 05/07/2022 07:21

@MassiveSalad22 mine are the same mate. I'll be honest, no massive surprise in my case (obese, family history, too sedentary). Doesn't mean we can't work on them though.

MassiveSalad22 · 05/07/2022 07:38

Ok. Ok phew. God. Good to be in the know though, knowledge is power. I am obese too but I honestly do eat brilliantly except for chocolate and exercise a 5ish times a week. Obviously not enough! Just did my muffins and feel horrendous!!
Also I only just had 2x glucose tolerance tests in my pregnancy (baby 12 weeks old) and they were fine!
But hey that’s what we’re here for! We are going to improve things 🙌🏻🙌🏻

Flockameanie · 05/07/2022 09:05

@MassiveSalad22 and @lugeforlife do you follow the ‘glucose goddess’ on Insta? She has a book too (The Glucose Revolution) released a few months ago. She has loads of ‘hacks’ for getting blood sugar spikes under control and also reversing pre-diabetes. All evidence-based stuff backed up by scientific studies.

MassiveSalad22 · 05/07/2022 09:15

Yes love GG and already been doing all her hacks 😭😭😭😭 (well minus the ACV)

Wombat27A · 05/07/2022 09:31

Well, oats, protein powder & fruit was my favourite breakfast...

Looks like I dropped some weight. As I said at the start, I did this for health reasons & hasn't realised weight loss could be the point of the coaching, if you choose that option 🙁(there was that option, wasn't there? Menopause, memory is pants.)

I also wanted to figure out why I have a fab diet, iron willpower & I'm still as fat as fck & gaining. I lose weight at the speed of death usually as I just eat less of my normal diet as there wasn't any of the usual things to cut. I was always having this convo with medical people & you could see the disbelief, albeit less obv than a few years ago when they used to argue. 😁

Blimey...I'm really enjoying my cheese & walnuts. 😁

@Flockameanie I have had a quick look but need to consider properly I think.

What I am finding odd is that I am not really showing many spikes/dips at all. I did on day 3 muffin eating and I did a bit after some white toast yesterday but I had rice for dinner and a square of dark choc and not a tickle! I stay between low 5s and low 6s almost all the time with fairly gentle rise and fall. Even my oats for breakfast which I was expecting to see did nothing.

Flockameanie · 05/07/2022 10:16

@lugeforlife maybe it’s fat that you don’t process as well then? Will be interesting to see when you get your results

MassiveSalad22 · 06/07/2022 07:08

Morning! Day 4 for me. Wondering what these muffins are all about and how they tell anything from them - I assume the only way is they must be able to access our librelink app? Makes sense as they provided the log ins. How will they tell anything about blood fat from that though? The postal blood test yes, but today’s day 4 muffins…?

Also does anyone know what counts as a ‘big blood sugar spike’? Can it only be if you go out of range, or do you think this latest spike on my graph count as a big spike?
