Mouth has felt weird today. Just a bit wrong, so just glanced in the mirror with my torch and it's quite disgusting!
The picture does not really show how big the lumps are but anyone got any ideas?

From a quick look on Google images, maybe inflamed papillae or lymph nodes (apparently we have some there)?

Might be worth making a dentist apt if they're bothering you (cos I'm guessing a dentist might be easier to see than a gp)

You could try gargling with salt water- if there's any infection a day or two of salt water will see it off.

I'm no tongue expert either but am I the only one who thinks the lumps at the back don't look quite right??

@FunForMe I know!!! 🤣 they look spiky and big in person it turns out it's hard to get a phone down your throat for a decent picture lol

Have you tested for Covid? A couple of friends had terrible bumps and sores in their mouths, it's quite common with the latest variant apparently.

Normal, mine looks like that sometimes. The bumps get a bit swollen if you have a bit of an infection ie a cold.

Covid test not a bad idea but also just as likely it's something ordinary and minor.

I feel fine I wouldn't normally post about something like this I just felt very grossed out when I saw it. Thanks for replies to all

The only time I've ever had lumps like that on the back of my tongue was when I had Covid. Not as many as you, but then I also had them around my uvula. Within a few days they turned into pustulous zits. Yucky.

Dymos yours looks like there is slight white film on the tongue? I get this when I have gum infection. I have sensitive gums and they get infected easily. I have to make sure to floss daily to keep them in good condition and use a softer toothbrush. My dentist said "Don't clean your teeth like you're scrubbing the kitchen! It should be a gentle massage to the gums".

I also use a water pik (cheap version) as a one off clean once a week or so to clean inside the gums, this helps a lot.

Daily waterpick is better!

I’m going in now to doctors. Recently had vitamin c deficiency we will see what’s up. Tongue not suppose to look like that. It’s suppose to be flat all the way down.
