Gross tongue photo

Mouth has felt weird today. Just a bit wrong, so just glanced in the mirror with my torch and it's quite disgusting!
The picture does not really show how big the lumps are but anyone got any ideas?

It’s normal human anatomy for sure, I was just sick at the time.

since I learned about those bumps I look at my throat more often, and yes they are there all the time, sick or not sick, just a little investigation causes worrying that is not necessary. It’s actually nothing and a physical part of your tongues anatomy.😌 I hope this gives you some piece of mind that you are not dying. And you’re more than likely perfectly healthy!

I just had COVID( fist positive test was 12/24 & my first negative test was 1/7 and this is what my tongue bumps still looks on 1/8

Dentist here. Perfectly normal tongue. We are specialists in this area. We know how to diagnose and treat all common oral medical conditions. My doctor colleagues had one lecture on oral medicine when we were students. We studied it for several years. We continue to study it as part of our continuous professional development.

We also know when it is appropriate to refer to an oral medicine or oral
Surgery colleague.

Hi. I have the same lumps at the very back of the tongue. Not painful. I noticed them yesterday and have been paranoid and anxiety ridden since thinking it's the C word. I don't smoke but drink on weekends. I woke up today with a fever and still have these lumps. Rest of the tounge looks normal underneath/sides etc. Hard to take a photo. Are you sure these lumps are normal..? My Mrs has then too. We've both got a sore throat as well. I've never seen this condition before.

Perfectly normal. You're just feeling miserable with a fever.
If you still worried after a couple of weeks, I would book an appointment with your dentist just to get reassurance.
