For anyone who wants a boost to their general health. The suggested goals are:

EAT 10 PORTIONS OF FRUIT AND VEGETABLES EVERY DAY - if you don't usually eat much fruit and veg I would build up gradually or you could upset your digestion.

DO (AT LEAST) 10 MINUTES OF EXERCISE EVERY DAY - can be yoga, stretching or something more energetic. The plan is that the idea of doing 10 minutes is not too daunting, and having started you may well find you want to do more.

There are no restrictions on what you eat so long as you get your 10 fruit and veg as well. The focus is not on weight loss but on improving our energy levels and hopefully our general mood and well-being. Sign up below and post here to tell us how you're getting on and how you are feeling.

Basic guidance on what constitutes a portion of fruit and veg here and you can download more detailed information by following the link at the very bottom of the page

yes well i am either pregnant or it is to do with phantom periods and the peri/menopause

FrannyandZooey · 09/01/2008 20:51

that is reminding me of a toblerone for some reason OR

TooTicky · 09/01/2008 20:52

Isn't the rhubarb terribly thin if it is grown through straws?

There has just been an odd situation which necessitated me saying, "GIVE him his piece of poo NOW!"

OP posts:
FrannyandZooey · 09/01/2008 20:52

Zippi have your periods been irregular before?

I should think you are probably having a cyber phantom pregnancy in sympathy with me as we were in synch before. Definitely.

FrannyandZooey · 09/01/2008 20:53

TooTicky oh dear [appalled]

ZippiBabes · 09/01/2008 20:55

not as a general rule no

but i did miss one around may which I put down to stress

which this could aslo be of course or most likely my age

with the third possibility being rather too ironic to contemplate

FrannyandZooey · 09/01/2008 20:56

yes I did type the question then deleted it

do you think is a possibility?

TooTicky · 09/01/2008 20:57

It was a piece of ds2's pretend poo which ds1 was kicking around, but the comedy of the situation struck me as I was saying it

OP posts:
TooTicky · 09/01/2008 20:58

Could it really be a possibility?

OP posts:
ZippiBabes · 09/01/2008 21:09

lol at an exciting possibility

i might pass on that one

I am going to tescos

FrayedKnot · 09/01/2008 21:27

Evening

Hello LL sorry ot hear you have been so poorly

Zippi

Perhaps you ought to have a thyroid test however - that could cause similar symptoms..unless you think it might be peri-menopause type thing

Unbelievebale to say but I have been ill again today with the mohter of all migraines - got to work but left again straightway and came home to bed, DH took the afternoon off to keep DS occupied, thank goodness as I was not up to much

I don;t know what is the matter with us all at the moment

Anyway I can;t stay as the PC not good for migraineyness,

Tomorrow is another day

pinkspottywellies · 09/01/2008 21:59

You're all mad

Lully, sorry to hear you're feeling so rubbish Hope you find something that makes you feel ok.

TooT, you missed me out of your round-up. I have been running again today. I can't believe I'm managing to do it! I just hope I can keep up with the programme. I've been trying to eat well but also to eat less so the 10x f&v would mean I wouldn't be eating anything else so I probably won't do that! Just to clarify... does chocolate orange count?

Did I tell you that dd held her breath and passed out last week?!

I went away for the night - first time I'd left her! She stayed with mil, so didn't see us from Wed morning to Thurs afternoon. She was fine when they picked me up from the station and we played at home and she had her tea and was fine. When dh came home from work we went up to get her ready for bed and she got all silly and cross and I picked her up and she threw her head back and arched away from me and stopped breathing and flopped onto my shoulder. I used to do it from about 6 months old apparently so I wasn't too shocked or scared because I'd heard about it before. I think she had been been so fine about us not being there but then realised when we were all back together and freaked out a bit. She was fine though and went to bed ok.

Sorry, a bit waffly. I'm not really a story teller

pinkspottywellies · 09/01/2008 22:17

Avi, have you lost our Scrabble game? I know you've got a lot on at the minute so don't worry if you're busy!

TooTicky · 09/01/2008 22:30

PSW, sorry! I knew I was missing people but my brain is a bit feeble atm. Glad dd is okay!!

OP posts:
ZippiBabes · 09/01/2008 22:35

don't let it put you off going away psw

I am sure it is some sort of woman thing I have

I didn't put on any weight over xmas and then the last week i suddenly seem to have added 5 lbs

i have had an apple and grapes now

i am hopeless at the veg part cos it never seems worht making food

I occasionally have a bowl of broccoli or caulifour but unless i make a roast for the fa,mily which is about max once a month then it just doesn't happen

and i used to be like you loit baking bread and terry nappies and wholefoods

ZippiBabes · 09/01/2008 22:36

Hello hello

More ailing folk - seems a right epidemic atm. Hope you all feel better soon.

Have had mixed nuts & dried raisin, berry smoothie, salad with lettuce, tomato, red pepper, mixed bean sprouts and blue cheese. Dinner roast salmon roast spuds and carrots, mashed swede, cabbage and gravy.

My sister arrived from the UK last night to stay with me for two weeks and brought me the Superfoods book - I'm very interested to read about these and see which ones will help me recover from cancer.

Apparently the 14 superfoods are beans, soy, blueberries, spinach, broccoli, tea (green or black), oats, tomatoes, oranges, turkey, punpkin, walnuts, wild salmon and yogurt.

OverRated · 10/01/2008 02:54

Oooo toberlone...

TooTicky's poo story made me lol. It reminded me of one of my first days of teaching where I suddenly heard myself bellow "I already asked you: STOP PLAYING WITH YOUR BALLs" much to the amusement of the caretaker who was walking through my PE lesson.

Have fun with your sister, Anorak.

FrannyandZooey · 10/01/2008 10:17

sorry about dd Pink glad you have some knowledge about it already. I expect that helps

have had mango (JUST ripe) raisins and banana

persuaded ds to go to nursery hoorah (refused yesterday, is always nervy after the holidays), but dp is at home poorly with a fluey sort of thing. He says he may not go in tomorrow either! So I think he may be dying, is normally v dull conscientious type in fact I don't think I ever remember him taking two days off together in living memory. It's his birthday on Saturday so I hope the poor bugger is ok by then

FrannyandZooey · 10/01/2008 14:32

put me down for two more satsumas

a slow f + v day evidently

ZippiBabes · 10/01/2008 15:31

TooTicky · 10/01/2008 17:57
