I woke up this morning completely blind in my left eye, the vision is coming back now, I’m terrified. My husband and I car share and he’s going to work in a minute and we have a young baby and don’t have any family nearby. Should my husband stay home? I’m really worried and feel I need to see a doctor but hour doctor surgery is too far to walk so I won’t be able to see anyone if he takes the car

He wants to go to work and for me to keep an “eye” on it

Update added by MNHQ - the OP HAS gone to A&E

So glad you are getting checked Thanks

Tillow4ever · 28/02/2022 09:00

Glad to "see" (sorry, crap pun) you are at A&E getting checked out. Fingers crossed it is nothing serious!

Really really wrong thread sorry op

MrsSkylerWhite · 28/02/2022 09:03

What?

He needs to drive you to A&E, now.

justasking111 · 28/02/2022 09:07

You're in the right place good luck

starfishmummy · 28/02/2022 09:10

Good luck OP. I had this 111 told me to go to a&e. They didn't exactly handle it well and told me to go back when eye casualty was open (over 24 hours as it was weekend). The doctor there was very angry about it as it might have been visual migraine or it might have been a TIA. By the time I got tested for the latter it was too late to tell.

tribpot · 28/02/2022 09:25

So glad you're at A&E, fingers crossed it proves to be nothing too much to worry about.

MissMarpleRocks · 28/02/2022 09:27

Good luck Flowers

Ghastlyghoul · 28/02/2022 09:30

Thank goodness you’re getting checked over. That sounds so frightening. Hope you get some answers soon.

JoeMaplin · 28/02/2022 09:31

Go to a and e or your nearest eye department - they will have an eye casualty there. I work in this field, please go straight away.

SirVixofVixHall · 28/02/2022 09:31

Very glad you are in A and E OP.

Noname1999 · 28/02/2022 09:32

I'm glad to see your update! I hope everything is ok for you. BrewCake

sueelleker · 28/02/2022 09:37

Go to A&E now! Suppose the other eye went as well, and you were on your own and blind with your child? You probably couldn't even call for help.

ferretface · 28/02/2022 09:43

You obviously need to seek urgent medical advice - just to say that among the very troubling possibilities it can also 'just' be migraine. My husband has been diagnosed with retinal migraine after a battery of tests - he's on an epilepsy medication now which helps slightly (he is not epileptic!)

orinocosfavoritecake · 28/02/2022 09:46

A&E surely?

Momijin · 28/02/2022 09:47

Hope you're ok op. I had partial sightloss a few times about 10 years ago and they said it was asymptomatic migraines.

RampantIvy · 28/02/2022 09:49

Can people please read the OP's update before posting. Just click on See All at the bottom of her first post.

THE OP IS AT A & E

Sorry for shouting.

Lobelia123 · 28/02/2022 09:55

So glad you are getting medical help! Sending you best wishes, hopefully its sorted and youre back with your baby at home very soon.

strawberryapricotpie · 28/02/2022 09:59

Glad you got it checked out OP, hope they can give you some answers soon.

Twitterwhooooo · 28/02/2022 10:00

Well done OP.

I think sometimes shock makes people go into 'auto-pilot' mode ie 'I must go to work' and it helps to have other people's perspective.

You did the right thing by posting, and I hope that your eye problems are nothing serious.

FantasticFebruary · 28/02/2022 10:01

I'm glad you've been seen & I hope it's nothing serious, but be prepared.

I cannot believe your DH had even considered going into work, you need serious words. I'd feel completely unloved & abandoned by him AND disgusted he could leave his baby with someone having a serious medical episode.

Take care 💐

Pernot165 · 28/02/2022 10:08

Hope all is ok OP.

It could be migraine, I have aura that completely batters my vision for 20-30 minutes. Fingers crossed you've had something similar and it's nothing serious. Let us know how you get on.

Changechangychange · 28/02/2022 10:12

Definitely A&E now, and your husband is an incredibly selfish little shit for prioritising work over your safety. If he found you unconscious would he step over your body to get to work too? What an arsehole.

Hankunamatata · 28/02/2022 10:15

Glad for update your in a&e.
