For anyone who wants a boost to their general health. The suggested goals are:

EAT 10 PORTIONS OF FRUIT AND VEGETABLES EVERY DAY - if you don't usually eat much fruit and veg I would build up gradually or you could upset your digestion.

DO (AT LEAST) 10 MINUTES OF EXERCISE EVERY DAY - can be yoga, stretching or something more energetic. The plan is that the idea of doing 10 minutes is not too daunting, and having started you may well find you want to do more.

There are no restrictions on what you eat so long as you get your 10 fruit and veg as well. The focus is not on weight loss but on improving our energy levels and hopefully our general mood and well-being. Sign up below and post here to tell us how you're getting on and how you are feeling.

Basic guidance on what constitutes a portion of fruit and veg here and you can download more detailed information by following the link at the very bottom of the page

good morning, is every still in the land of the living I hope?

I have the sniffle but just had 4 hour lie in which has considerably perked me up

I like boxing day, no rushing around for us this year (have put off all rellies till later in the week) and lots of nice things to eat and play with. It is sunny here so we are wondering about braving the woods, but it'll be sodden after yesterday, won't it?

I am eating absolutely tons of f+v and I went for a squelchy walk in the woods today but I can see there is no-one here to appreciate my efforts

I shall appreciate.

We went on a walk up a hill to a community woodland project and someone had put up loads of signs about a 'low life moron' who had tried to start a fire in a rubbish bin. My dcs were fascinated 'LOOK' they kept shouting 'it's another low-life moron sign,'

Don't you love how things enter the family lexicon?

SantaBabyBeenAnAwfulGoodGirl · 26/12/2007 23:24

well done babe

FrannyandZooey · 26/12/2007 23:27

my ds kept saying 'wang' and 'wanger' for no apparent reason on Christmas day

he just liked the sound of it and of course people fell about every time, so I was expecting it to become a vocabulary staple

fingers crossed it has not been heard of since, if it reappears I shall try to substitute low life moron

ahundredtimes · 26/12/2007 23:28

Yes low life moron is quite pleasing isn't it? Mine all think so.

TooTickyDoves · 26/12/2007 23:33

Hello everybody
We have been having nice stretchy days. I have even done some sitting down!

TooTickyDoves · 26/12/2007 23:33

Meant to go for a walk but haven't as we ALL seem to have colds.

TooTickyDoves · 26/12/2007 23:47

100x, have you ever been to Rocks East Woodland?

ahundredtimes · 26/12/2007 23:48

No. Do they have low life moron signs there? I think that is a must now. Where is it?

TooTickyDoves · 26/12/2007 23:52

No, but they do have a wooden sculpture trail. It's...um... if you were coming from Wilts direction, towards Bath, just after Box there is a turning for Ditteridge and Middlehill, follow that along its wiggly bits, then you come to a mainish road I think - go right (I think) then v. v. soon left, then it's just on the left. The first time we went I took the Batheaston route and got utterly lost.
See?

ahundredtimes · 26/12/2007 23:57

[nods] Right, erm, yes, I think so. [shrugs]

A wooden sculpture trail huh? Shall keep it in mind TooT [vague]

TooTickyDoves · 27/12/2007 00:11

Wooden animals and things. And a big chap. And a man carved into a tree. Nice place, nice atmosphere. Oh, and an old gardeny bit that's being restored, with watery bits. And a couple of hooge Redwoods. And a cave with bats. And an enchanted bit. Peaceful and non-touristy. Well, we like it
Obviously, for those with a taste for moron signs, it might be a little bit tame...

BBBee · 27/12/2007 09:21

hello

happy apres christmas!

f&v has not been so bad over xmas but has been supplemented with lots of chocolate and cheese (not together obviously).

The floor is festively crunchy with lego and plastic. I am doing that thing where you waft around saying under your breath 'oh i must do something about that...' and then wander off to listen to the radio and fiddle unprodcutively with piles of things.

We are off to Holland early tomorrow so must stop wafting and start actually working out what to take. My in laws don;t speak English which is a mixed blessing - hey cannot upset me with snidy comments but after intial hugging and smiling it becomes a bizarre game of cross cultural charades. Also DP will regress to grumpy 16yr old and I won;t be able to understand the arguments.

I can say 'grandmother' in Russian so they quite like that - but you know - only so much mileage in that.

BBBee · 27/12/2007 09:22

oh that is confusing read back - in laws are not dutch or russian.

FrannyandZooey · 27/12/2007 09:24

what are they then

OP posts:
FrannyandZooey · 27/12/2007 09:25

I am going to B&^r tomorrow. I might try speaking Russian while we are there.

OP posts:
BBBee · 27/12/2007 09:26

SantaBabyBeenAnAwfulGoodGirl · 27/12/2007 09:27

climber is learning russian by listening to a dvd

yep what are they then

BBBee · 27/12/2007 09:32

they are georgian
(as in ex-USSR)
(not come here in a time machine from 1714-1837)
(not from America)

FrannyandZooey · 27/12/2007 09:32

It begins with B and ends in Ognor. I grew up there but I don't want it searchable

George V liked it lots
