For anyone who wants a boost to their general health. The suggested goals are:

EAT 10 PORTIONS OF FRUIT AND VEGETABLES EVERY DAY - if you don't usually eat much fruit and veg I would build up gradually or you could upset your digestion.

DO (AT LEAST) 10 MINUTES OF EXERCISE EVERY DAY - can be yoga, stretching or something more energetic. The plan is that the idea of doing 10 minutes is not too daunting, and having started you may well find you want to do more.

There are no restrictions on what you eat so long as you get your 10 fruit and veg as well. The focus is not on weight loss but on improving our energy levels and hopefully our general mood and well-being. Sign up below and post here to tell us how you're getting on and how you are feeling.

Basic guidance on what constitutes a portion of fruit and veg here and you can download more detailed information by following the link at the very bottom of the page

Sounds lovely Mrs C. I miss mince pies. I will have to make some pastry later but I only have silicon muffin tins. Not sure how well they'll work. I miss English baking tins!

zippitippitoes · 16/12/2007 21:02

wasnt cranford on earlier

TooTickyDoves · 16/12/2007 21:15

MrsC, are you still there? I need to make festive gingery biscuits or something similkar but wheat-free - can you helkp?

pinkspottywellies · 16/12/2007 21:16

Ooh silicone muffin trays I suffer a lot from this!

Franny! Yay!!!!!!! Glad little one is ok I drank the exact water to the exact timing they told me and I was so uncomfortable I could hardly lie down so I went and weeeeeeeeed for so long that she came to find where I was! Then when I went back in she said there was still plenty in my bladder! Sorry, a little late with my scan/bladder/uncomfortable story but I've just read through from yesterday!

FK our Christmas was lovely thanks! We had a lovely meal and my sister stayed over too and I worked at the sweet shop all weekend Oh and I got crying chocolate and the peppermint and vanilla milk chocolate. Yum.

Thanks for all your teething advice and support. She has been better today but keeps having moments like it's just all too much and keeps hanging her tongue out like she doesn't know where to put it!! We went to a Christmas drinks party at my friends house
this afternoon and she charmed everyone! She's sleeping alright at night mostly so can't complain!

We had broccoli and stilton soup for lunch. I've been making quite a lot of soup lately! It's very comforting and wintery but it feels odd giving dd something that is effectivly baby puree!

TooTickyDoves · 16/12/2007 21:16

The extra Ks aren't obligatory.

TooTickyDoves · 16/12/2007 21:18

pinkspottywellies · 16/12/2007 21:21

OverRated · 16/12/2007 21:38

What's Cranford? Should I have seen/ read it?

Sounds like a lovely christmas. I still don't know what to cook for ours. I wish I worked in a sweet shop.

FrannyandZooey · 16/12/2007 21:48

pinkspottywellies · 16/12/2007 22:33

Chestnuts roasting on an open fire.

Bocohohoho · 16/12/2007 22:37

Glad it went well Franny You must be relieved, it's nice to get it out of the way and relax and enjoy the pg now.

I'm covered in oil based relief printing paint, and so is everything else. Including my hair and cheek. And coat as it was on the back of the chair when i accidentally flipped the roller off the table. And now i've lost momentum and can't be bothered to clear up. Been reading the HD and NB thread with total confusion instead.

pinkspottywellies · 16/12/2007 22:42

hd and nb? paint sounds like a nightmare but you know it will be easier if you clear it up now!

TooTickyDoves · 16/12/2007 23:12

Oh Little Bowl of Vegatables, How Will I Eat Thee in Pie.

Crudite, Crudite, Carrotus est Nice-us,

OverRated · 16/12/2007 23:27

Very good Tooticky. I'm rubbish at this sort of thing.

I've just read the NB & HD thread too and am

FrannyandZooey · 17/12/2007 08:10

LOL at crudite

I think needs some work

shall we stick with this one for the present and hope for inspiration during the day?

OP posts:
MrsCarrot · 17/12/2007 08:45

What's the nb and hd thread?

Toot - I'm afraid I don't have a recipe, could you just replace with wheat free flour and add slightly more liquid.

I have a sodding cold again. I'm not the greatsest ad for cider vinegar after all.

Did you watch Cranford? Ah, it''s so satisfying and avoids being too cloying by the fact that they all seem to die every episode.

How about...'I spy with my 10/10 eye, a snifter of currants in a fat mince pie.' There's that's my offering.

FrannyandZooey · 17/12/2007 08:54

ooh a fat mince pie my god that is a good one

will wait to see if everyone else swoons as well

OP posts:
ahundredtimes · 17/12/2007 08:55

Good morning. Good morning.

How are you all? Franny has had a scan I see, that's lovely and reassuring and now you can announce it loudly all over Christmas. Though it's actually very awkward telling people you're pregnant I think, don't know why.

I like the fact they all die in Cranford too, though last night they all got married. Which made a nice change.

FrannyandZooey · 17/12/2007 08:57

100 I was not expecting to feel shy about it but I have felt very awkward so far. I feel I should be hiding behind my fan and murmuring something about being a little indisposed

what do you think about a snifter of currants? Did you swoon or gag?
