Dependent Drinkers and Alcoholics (recovering or active) Support Thread II?

1000 replies

kokeshi · 28/11/2007 12:14

Welcome to the thread, the purpose of this is to give anyone, who is having any trouble with their drinking, to come and post about it honestly and without judgement.

There are many of us that use the thread for support and encouragement: some in recovery, others just needing a place to share about their worries. It's been going on in one form of another for a while now and has helped many people.

Everybody's welcome, no matter what stage your drinking is at.

Jump right in, the water's fine

noone is as bad as me!

kokeshi · 11/01/2008 03:02

What do you want to talk about? I think you may have better luck in the morning, not so many people up at this time.

You can start a discussion about whatever you want, just go to the topic list and follow the instructions. All the stuff is at the top of the page.

hedonia · 11/01/2008 03:03

what are you reading?

kokeshi · 11/01/2008 03:03

I can guarantee you won't surprise me, I've heard it all and been through it as well.

hedonia · 11/01/2008 03:04

so why you still up?

kokeshi · 11/01/2008 03:05

I have slipped into a really bad sleeping pattern and it's difficult to get back to normal. I've always had difficulty sleeping. Used to use drink to help me pass out.

kokeshi · 11/01/2008 03:08

Yeah I have pretty much experimented with everything (excluding heroin), but drink was my preferred drug.

It's anonymous, don't worry. Anyway, all of the people who post on this thread have issues with drink so you're not alone.

Does it impact on the rest of your life? Family? Work? Relationships?

you both gone?

kokeshi · 11/01/2008 03:18

How do you see you? Are you happy with your life as it is? And more importantly how do you feel when you aren't drinking or doing drugs?

Here's a question for you. Do you think that people really see you in a positive way? Good time girl isn't always a compliment. Just going from my own perception of myself when I was drinking. I thought I was the life and soul of the party, but the reality was I was unpredictable and embarrassing to be out with.

OP posts:
hedonia · 11/01/2008 03:19

I'm extremely happy - I've got it all..kids, house, job an amazing husband but I like to feel high - simple as that!

mehdismummy · 11/01/2008 03:20

no just on a crap connection. You say people see you as a good time girl. Have you got anyone who sees just you?

hedonia · 11/01/2008 03:20

who am I?

Avizandum · 11/01/2008 03:21

How can you be happy if you think you have a problem?
