For anyone who wants a boost to their general health. The suggested goals are:

EAT 10 PORTIONS OF FRUIT AND VEGETABLES EVERY DAY - if you don't usually eat much fruit and veg I would build up gradually or you could upset your digestion.

DO (AT LEAST) 10 MINUTES OF EXERCISE EVERY DAY - can be yoga, stretching or something more energetic. The plan is that the idea of doing 10 minutes is not too daunting, and having started you may well find you want to do more.

There are no restrictions on what you eat so long as you get your 10 fruit and veg as well. The focus is not on weight loss but on improving our energy levels and hopefully our general mood and well-being. Sign up below and post here to tell us how you're getting on and how you are feeling.

Basic guidance on what constitutes a portion of fruit and veg here and you can download more detailed information by following the link at the very bottom of the page

I used to live in Putney

OverRated · 26/11/2007 00:09

Thanks for the help with portions.

Today I have managed Juice, Raisins, Dried cranberries, tomatoes, black beans, pumpkin, apple, blueberries. So only 8 and perhaps not a full portion of each, but not bad for my first day & I haven?t done the shopping!

Boco, I can?t see your picture but it sounds uncomfortable. Have you tried Oilatum? That?s used to help me.

Lovely tat zippi!

OverRated · 26/11/2007 00:13

And Boco That's awful. I used to teach and just can't imagine how this started. Your poor DD

manchita · 26/11/2007 00:13

Well done Over Rated, here's to 10 tomorrow

lionheart · 26/11/2007 07:29

There was a pearly man near where we had the meet-up.

I tried to explain it to DS but then realised I couldn't remember why the man was decorated with thousands of little buttons so we moved swiftly on.

FrannyandZooey · 26/11/2007 08:03

Yay for everyone getting their 10 or near their 10

I think you are going to have to make me a star chart or something as I have been so crap

have had orange, pear, apple, melon, raisins so far. Small portions though, not one of each.

Ds up at 5.40. why oh why oh why oh why.

filthymindedvixen · 26/11/2007 08:48

oh I saw pearly men Lionheart too, in convent garden. But I was trying too hard to not look utterly lost and provincial and muggable so I pretended not to see them...

Boco · 26/11/2007 09:08

And i saw them too, and wanted to pretend to be a local Lunnoner, so i high fived them and then gave them a wedgie and rubbed my knuckle on their heads and then I sang roll out the barrel.

zippitippitoes · 26/11/2007 09:11

i didn't see them..i saw some nice trousers in zara

and when i went to that yuk brum on sat and went in zara it was horrid like a complete jumble sale and no sign of anything nice

zippitippitoes · 26/11/2007 09:14

i am going to drink coffee and stress...exh comes in a week

apparently he has told ds that ds and dd2 and dgs should all come back and live in my house

er i don't think so

as dd2 puts it she will take the piss and ds certainly fing will that is why he isn't here

i dread to think what interfering in my life he is going to do..hopefuly he is not going ot suggest a relationship of any kind

or strings attached money lending

TooTicky · 26/11/2007 09:45

Can you help me out please? The St John Ambulance group have asked for jam jars filled with "various items" (meaning sweets, I think) for their stall at the Christmas fair. What could I conceivably put into jam jars that will be acceptable, appealing, not too expensive and NOT compromise my principles?

zippitippitoes · 26/11/2007 09:46

beads
buttons

zippitippitoes · 26/11/2007 09:46

straws

TooTicky · 26/11/2007 09:46

I would like to do something because they are a lovely group and I want to be supportive.

TooTicky · 26/11/2007 09:47

Really?

zippitippitoes · 26/11/2007 09:47

wool

zippitippitoes · 26/11/2007 09:47

fabric scraps

zippitippitoes · 26/11/2007 09:48

pompoms

zippitippitoes · 26/11/2007 09:48

playdough

TooTicky · 26/11/2007 09:49

They are probably looking for child appeal. And pompoms take yonks to make!

zippitippitoes · 26/11/2007 09:49

childs will like those things

TooTicky · 26/11/2007 09:51

The problem is, they are expecting glossy sweets. I've got a feeling that whatever I take will come across as a hippy offering.

TooTicky · 26/11/2007 09:52

Sorry, I am grateful for your suggestions
It's the sort of Christmas fair that virtually revolves around sweets.

zippitippitoes · 26/11/2007 09:53

well then if you make something different it will be sought after..trust me kids like that stuff

frothykindofadrink · 26/11/2007 09:56

hello am back from pils they coped very well with exclusion diet surprisingly and cared for us very nicely

today I am a bit nervous - I do feel better on this diet but one of my friend's theories is that I might be reacting to yeast

YEAST!!! There is not a single alcoholic drink that does not contain yeast!

I do not think that I could live like that. Please could you all help by start chanting now

"Frothy's body loves yeast. Frothy's body loves yeast."
