For anyone who wants a boost to their general health. The suggested goals are:

EAT 10 PORTIONS OF FRUIT AND VEGETABLES EVERY DAY - if you don't usually eat much fruit and veg I would build up gradually or you could upset your digestion.

DO (AT LEAST) 10 MINUTES OF EXERCISE EVERY DAY - can be yoga, stretching or something more energetic. The plan is that the idea of doing 10 minutes is not too daunting, and having started you may well find you want to do more.

There are no restrictions on what you eat so long as you get your 10 fruit and veg as well. The focus is not on weight loss but on improving our energy levels and hopefully our general mood and well-being. Sign up below and post here to tell us how you're getting on and how you are feeling.

Basic guidance on what constitutes a portion of fruit and veg here and you can download more detailed information by following the link at the very bottom of the page

and you are all very welcome and thank you for coming!

Boco · 20/11/2007 10:02

That's funny about the pirates wombling because i met friend for lunch yesterday before catching the train, and there was a woman with a black eye patch sitting behind us, and dd2 shouting 'why does that lady have an eye pit?' and i explained quietly that it was a patch, not a pit, and she called over to the lady 'are you a kind of pirate?'. The lady just sipped her coffee and looked away.

Doctor just called and will see us at half eleven.

ahundredtimes · 20/11/2007 10:05

I'm coming in to say hello. I've been going about being v.bossy on MN this morning. Next I shall be impatient. I should stop.

I like the fact you all loved each other. I love the fact you are all beautiful. It's nice. I feel rather proud of you all for some reason.

Now does anyone need some bossing done here?

Yoo, hoo, DP back tonight for handover and then it is my turn to work.

Although, I seem to remember a couple of you offered to do the work for my and volunteered the other 10/10ers to do the rest.

Should be done in no time. I will supervise, of course.

lionheart · 20/11/2007 10:11

Boco, what a shame about your poor DD.

ahundredtimes · 20/11/2007 10:13

Actually being bossy is marvellous! Someone wants me to be their parenting guru and someone else has said 'good post 100x'.

It's easy being bossy isn't it?

Poor dd Boco. Hope the doctor sorts her out. The coughing at night sounds like asthma?

lionheart · 20/11/2007 10:15

I sometimes wish I were bossier and assertive. It would avoid a lot of fuff.

SauerKraut · 20/11/2007 10:19

Fantastic descriptions! I love the bit about the cafe being an oasis of calm and serenity and quirkiness like the thread! I would love to read a thread with all your dhs and dps discussing it...
I would love to see pictures too, if I'm allowed.

Boco · 20/11/2007 10:29

When i got back yesterday my mother met us from the station. She said there was something different about me, so i assumed it would be that i looked relaxed and happy after a lovely weekend away, but no, 'you look fatter in the face'. Thanks mother.

ahundredtimes · 20/11/2007 10:29

Oh I don't know Lionheart. I think sometimes it can create an awful lot of fluff too.

frothykindofadrink · 20/11/2007 10:34

good morning I am very pleased for you all at your good time

I am a bit sad this morning I have woken up after two quite good days feeling as bad as I ever did - the day before yesterday I really did think that recovery might only take a couple of months

never mind I have had watermelon and kiwi smoothie, half an apple and raisins so far

Boco · 20/11/2007 10:46

Oh frothy Things could still get better, sorry you're having a bad day, really hope that tomorrow is a good day.

womblingalong · 20/11/2007 10:56

Frothy,

I only just twigged that you're Capp .

Sorry that you're feeling so awful, I have missed the detail on your illness, do you mind reminding me?

I am sure that recovery is a stop/start thing. Did you do too much yesterday? When I had post birth infections, I rushed around on the days I felt better, and then re-lapsed into sepsis repeatedly from overdoing it.

FrannyandZooey · 20/11/2007 11:03

Capp I think it is often 2 steps forward 1 step back; don't despair yet

Boco hope the doctor is helpful

SK I am just waiting for everyone to say yes I can send the photos around. Nobody has said no yet (if they do I could pixellate them out haw haw)

I am cooking a vegetable stew with all the things that were looking scary in the veg crisper

MrsCarrot · 20/11/2007 11:14

Boco- I just sprayed muesli everywhere at your mother's comment, I'm sorry to laugh but it's so dreadful it's funny. You do not look fat in the face!

Just been to GP as well with Lo. He had bad temp and cough yesterday and last night. His chest isn't too bad but he has a viral wheeze? Might be criup because of barking cough but it doesn't sound as bad as our dd, Boco, but we have to watch for the sucking chest thing as then they may need help with breathing.

There are three things it could be apparently, viral wheeze, croup, or bronchiolitis, this would be bad though, it isn't that at the moment.

He also said it was tricky to diagnose asthma in under fives as they so often have a cough/wheeze that is related to the virus and will go when it does. He has given us an inhalor for him which will help (he says) with whatever of those three things he has.

He is not having it for now - we will see. I asked if they were steroid and he said no, they were just bronchiodilators that work on the nerve endings in the bronchioles. That's ok then.

Your dd, Boco, I am not trying to claim her as my own

MrsCarrot · 20/11/2007 11:16

I like Sauerkraut

SauerKraut · 20/11/2007 11:22

Gosh, you too, MrsC. Poor ds. Do you have a humidifier?

fullmoonfiend · 20/11/2007 13:23

After a shameful 24 hours which included odd cheese and chips and a fried breakfast, I have improved Veggie stirfry last night, a melon, grape, mango and pineapple medley for brekkie and a very mustardy tomasto, avacado and spinach sarnie for lunch.
I'm at work and it's all horrible.

TooTicky · 20/11/2007 13:33

Is it a ventolin inhaler MrsC?

gosh...what an absolutely stunning lot you are...just beautiful
It's probably just as well that I couldn't come...I would have had to sit in the ugly corner.

I have sussed a few of you...but some remain a complete mystery......& who is that most handsome chap?

FrannyandZooey · 20/11/2007 14:08
