For anyone who wants a boost to their general health. The suggested goals are:

EAT 10 PORTIONS OF FRUIT AND VEGETABLES EVERY DAY - if you don't usually eat much fruit and veg I would build up gradually or you could upset your digestion.

DO (AT LEAST) 10 MINUTES OF EXERCISE EVERY DAY - can be yoga, stretching or something more energetic. The plan is that the idea of doing 10 minutes is not too daunting, and having started you may well find you want to do more.

There are no restrictions on what you eat so long as you get your 10 fruit and veg as well. The focus is not on weight loss but on improving our energy levels and hopefully our general mood and well-being. Sign up below and post here to tell us how you're getting on and how you are feeling.

Basic guidance on what constitutes a portion of fruit and veg here and you can download more detailed information by following the link at the very bottom of the page

LL, you have to come, I am sure you have a 24 hour MIL bug, and will need restorative vegan/veggie food and cake by Sunday.

Zip, she doesn't want to meet us. She fears we will all be too earnest, and discuss macrobiotics and stuff.

ahundredtimes · 16/11/2007 20:04

I don't even know what macrobiotics is/are...I'm only in it for the cake and a room to myself for a whole night.

zippitippitoes · 16/11/2007 20:08

last thing i need is a room to myself for the whole night

fullmoonfiend · 16/11/2007 20:10

TooTicky · 16/11/2007 20:21

100x, listen. Dd1 wants you to come. In fact, she commands it. And she is wearing her best oh-so-straight stare.

FrannyandZooey · 16/11/2007 20:22

She's not coming. We're pissing her off, now.

TooTicky · 16/11/2007 20:23

Franny, you have been AWOL again. How are you?

FrannyandZooey · 16/11/2007 20:24

I've been at work. And lying down yawning. And eating potatoes. God I am a barrel of laughs at the moment.

lullabyloo · 16/11/2007 20:26

oh Toot
you poor thing

ds is so poorly...so not like him..he usually blusters through illnesses & raging temps etc.
He has been very pathetic & quiet this evening,no supper,no milk,no stories.. & fell asleep in my arms when I was singing to him...hasn't done that since he was about 15 months

I am very tearful hope he's ok

I also very much want to come & eat cake with you all in the rain

TooTicky · 16/11/2007 20:28

Can you manage to have a healing day at home tomorrow? At all?

FrannyandZooey · 16/11/2007 20:29

I think you are off the hook for tomorrow Lully - ds shouldn't go anywhere if he isn't well

I am sorry he sounds so off colour and that you are understandably so concerned - they often bounce back surprisingly fast at this age though, I hope he will be back to normal in a day or so

frothykindofadrink · 16/11/2007 20:30

I am very about you all and the cake

my lovely nutritional therapist mate's diet disallows cake or joy of any kind I can't even have any yogurt (I live on natural yogurt)

tbh I would probably waver between cake and a bowl of yogurt with maple syrup on

never mind on a brighter note I have felt so well today that I have washed 3 pans and put away the ironing my mum did for me

go me-e, go me-e

pointydog · 16/11/2007 20:30

don't work so hard, franny

rest your feet. take off your nose

lullabyloo · 16/11/2007 20:31

I told dh on the phone an hour ago that ds wasn't well & I was feeling off colour....his response was that he was too ,but that we were all going anyway, whatever because he wasn't going to cause his mother/stepfather to be disappointed

pointydog · 16/11/2007 20:31

I knowiknowiknow

couldn't resist

TooTicky · 16/11/2007 20:34

Froth, are you allowed soya yoghurt? I suppose it might taste odd to you if you're used to cow, but I love it.
