I think the National Gallery is nearby, isn't it?

ahundredtimes · 11/11/2007 21:46

Oh yes, tell us EVERYTHING. Was it lovely?

Boco · 11/11/2007 21:46

lionheart you are so evasive and mysterious!

ahundredtimes · 11/11/2007 21:47

hair colour, lionheart, please.

Boco · 11/11/2007 21:47

At once! We're going to see it next week anyway - we need to be prepared.

lionheart · 11/11/2007 21:48

Very dark brown indeed.

Boco · 11/11/2007 21:49

Hmm. You might need to swap with fmf for the world to make any sense actually lionheart.

What about hunker?
I have no mental image at all, just a naughty mouse type person.

FrayedKnot · 11/11/2007 21:49

I feel the need to in a kind of hyperventiliatingly panicky "don;t know if I'm laughing or crying" way at the thoguth of meeting everyone and then everyone running back and sending Aitch hyperventilating e-mails about everything

Oh deary me, it's going to be...funny, isn;t it...

I'm going to disguise myself and just sit and spy on you all instead....

MrsCarrot · 11/11/2007 21:50

I hope there won't be competetive healthy food ordering

not from me...I need big portions with carbs and stuff.

ahundredtimes · 11/11/2007 21:52

Well Franny will be ordering off the children's menu for some reason, so that will be, erm, diverting.

MrsCarrot · 11/11/2007 21:54

you know what I mean, there's healthy cake and then there's a plate of starched blackeyed beans with a sniff of lemon.

hunkermunker · 11/11/2007 21:55

Ooh, I wasn't being rude (for once!) - I was just going to post about driftwood, then got to thinking about flotsam and jetsam (I read a book where flotsam and jetsam were donkeys giving rides on a beach when I was five. It was dull).

Ahem.

Wedding was lovely, properly fab. VVV is gorgeous, her DH is perfect for her, her children are adorable. VVV's dress was delicious, Whizzz made beautiful jewellery for the bridesmaids - necklaces, bracelets and earrings, all twinkly and pearly - really pretty. Miaou made a bag for VVV's DD to carry, which matched her dress perfectly. And HOW cute do toddler boys look in frock coats and waistcoats?

DS1 was most impressed with the necklace too - I asked him if he liked it and he took a deep breath and said, "Oh, Mummy it is beautiful!" He was also impressed with the chicken in parma ham - he said "Mummy, it's chicken and bacon at the same time!"

And when DH told him he was going to VVV's wedding, he said, "Will they have a party afterwards to cheer them up?"

DH was approached by two 4yo girls at the reception - one said, "Are you married?" to him. He said, "'Fraid so. You're too late," and the one nudged the other and hissed, "You see? I told you you were too late!"

MrsCarrot · 11/11/2007 21:55

Oh, god, a children's menu. DD will refuse all the home made houmous and ask for chips and show me up. I can feel it.

hunkermunker · 11/11/2007 21:57

Btw, I have had asparagus, sweetcorn, cabbage, peas, carrots, tomatoes, onions, lettuce, red pepper, orange juice and apricots today.

MrsCarrot · 11/11/2007 21:57

Lol at your ds, Hunkermunker, chicken in parma ham sounds lovely. Now that is something DD would eat a lot of. I don't think it will be on the menu though.

FrannyandZooey · 11/11/2007 21:59

what? what? there isn't a children's menu

there definitely isn't any chips

fullmoonfiend · 11/11/2007 22:00

Mrs C, that is exactly why I am not bringing my children. They worship at the altar of pig-products

lionheart · 11/11/2007 22:00

No chips.

ahundredtimes · 11/11/2007 22:01

Are you having the meet-up with your children? Why? I want you all to go out late at night and get drunk on organic wine and for MrsC to dance on her damaged feet and for F&Z to stand on the table and then burst into tears and for Lionheart to talk at length and for Avi to smoke cigarettes and tell dirty jokes.

I feel all disappointed now.

But I like the sound of that wedding! Did she have a good time. Oh I like a wedding. Did you cry Hunker?

FrannyandZooey · 11/11/2007 22:02

oh don't start teasing me I will take it all personally

I am wobbly about this and need bolstering not teasing

I must go to bed

Ew, FMV, what a horrible expression

Sometimes DD eats extremely well, other times, like tonight, she picks all the pasta out of her vegetable and declares she doesn't really like pepper and tomato like that
