Embarrassing problem

Bumtrouble · 07/03/2021 18:12

Name changed for obvious reasons Blush

For the past month or so I've had diarrhoea on and off as well as left sided abdominal pain. Embarrassingly I have actually soiled myself twice while out walking & unable to find a toilet. It's got to the stage where I'm constantly uncomfortable and worried about being able to find a toilet if I need one.

I've phoned my gp & have blood & other tests booked for a couple of weeks time but im just really scared. Im early 50s.

Hope all goes well op x

kissmelittleass · 12/04/2021 09:33

Op I had the bowel scan with contrast dye two weeks ago honestly it was fine don't worry very slightly uncomfortable but not painful it's ok 👍

Justilou1 · 12/04/2021 10:04

Hi - hope scan goes well. I’m assuming (and hoping) you have irritation from anti inflammatory drugs. Best to get scans anyway and check everything.

Bumtrouble · 12/04/2021 12:10

The hospital just phoned & cancelled. The scanner is broken Sad

It is crappy. I had followed the no food rules & been drinking loads. Now all I've done is run to the loo all afternoon!!

Good luck op.

Bumtrouble · 20/04/2021 14:23

Well that was a weird experience. When they injected the dye I felt like I'd wet myself Blush Thankfully the nurse had warned me that it may feel like that. Just got a pounding headache now. Results in 48 hours they said so 🤞

Workinghardeveryday · 20/04/2021 16:13

Really! I didn’t know it would do that!
Sure you will be fine, have a glass of wine, you’ve had a stressful day!

Justploddinhalong · 20/04/2021 16:33

Hope all went well. Fingers crossed for the results x

Orchidflower1 · 20/04/2021 22:25

That must have felt very weird! Try and rest now and as much as is possible out it to the back of your mind ( or at least to the side) and relax.

Orchidflower1 · 20/04/2021 22:25

*put it

needadvice54321 · 20/04/2021 22:35

Everything crossed for you OP

DS regularly has MRI's with contrast and says it feels really weird!

lljkk · 21/04/2021 06:09

x fingers hope they get you a quick effective treatment, OP

TangerineGreen · 21/04/2021 07:12

That’s good the scan is done, a big step forwards, thinking if you OP and hoping for an easy fix 💐

Vebrithien · 21/04/2021 07:24

Sending you a big hug/cuppa/tankard of gin deleat as appropriate

I hope you get good news as soon as possible.

I completely agree about the contrast dye and feeling like you've wet yourself. Such a bizarre feeling, I ended up checking my knickers just to be sure I hadn't wet myself!

Arbadacarba · 21/04/2021 07:27

I've had a scan with that dye that makes you feel like you've wet yourself - the nurse warned me but it was still weird.

Hoping you get reassuring results as soon as possible Flowers .
