For anyone who wants a boost to their general health. The suggested goals are:

EAT 10 PORTIONS OF FRUIT AND VEGETABLES EVERY DAY - if you don't usually eat much fruit and veg I would build up gradually or you could upset your digestion.

DO (AT LEAST) 10 MINUTES OF EXERCISE EVERY DAY - can be yoga, stretching or something more energetic. The plan is that the idea of doing 10 minutes is not too daunting, and having started you may well find you want to do more.

There are no restrictions on what you eat so long as you get your 10 fruit and veg as well. The focus is not on weight loss but on improving our energy levels and hopefully our general mood and well-being. Sign up below and post here to tell us how you're getting on and how you are feeling.

Basic guidance on what constitutes a portion of fruit and veg here and you can download more detailed information by following the link at the very bottom of the page

It's not my cheese, it's Hunkermunker's!
I don't even eat cheese.

lullabyloo · 06/11/2007 12:45

oh good hunker
we are a nice ( if slightly ever so slightly eccentric and barking) lot

lullabyloo · 06/11/2007 12:46

where is franny? >
how far away is the docs?????

fullmoonfiend · 06/11/2007 12:49

I'd give me left eyebrow for a hunk of cheese right now...

lullabyloo · 06/11/2007 12:52
lullabyloo · 06/11/2007 12:53

TigerFeet · 06/11/2007 12:54

You OK FMF?

Good question, where is Franny?

fullmoonfiend · 06/11/2007 12:58

work, exam tomorrow, work, exam tommorrow. work. money. Did I mention exam tomorrow???

Tatties · 06/11/2007 13:13

Hello all

FMF good look for your exam (I'm here if you need a chat)

Hmm Franny, not sure about Kevin Spacey, he does have something doesn't he. I didn't realise he was gay. I think he reminds me of Robert Lindsay

We have had the heating on for AGES. And I use bleach.

Avi, ds goes through good and bad sleep phases. Atm he is not really wanting to go to bed in he first place, he is waking quite a lot, often going berserk if dp goes in to him (even if it's just to bring him to me), and he is waking quite early to feed non-stop until we get up, which bugs the hell out of me. I just cannot foresee a time when he will let either of us put him to bed without a feed, I can't imagine him ever not waking during the night...

ahundredtimes · 06/11/2007 13:25

Kevin Spacey? Friend, yes, because he seems quite clever and a little bit sinister and funny. Lover? No, no, no.

I can't see it at all. I shal resist his 10/10 pin up status and tear down Franny's posters at every opportunity.

hunkermunker · 06/11/2007 13:27

FMF good luck with exam. Did you cut the Brie up before you crammed it in, btw?

ahundredtimes · 06/11/2007 13:40

Yes good luck with exam FMF. What is your exam in? Also we need to discuss allotment commitment when you've stopped revising please.

No Hunker, it's really not necessary. You can peel back the wrapper, like an ice cream, and just eat, tip first.

lullabyloo · 06/11/2007 13:40

Hi Tatties
good luck fmf

100x...no I dont fancy him as in fancy him either....he is just simply kind of wonderful
he's far too young for me to fancy him

FrayedKnot · 06/11/2007 13:49

Last night I posted:

"If we don;t get extra members from that title I'll eat my fleecy blanket"

Good luck with the exam, fmf. is it the sort of exam where you have to answer lots of short questions, or is the kind where you have to write huge quantities of waffle?

I think eating mars bars when under exam pressure is admissable

lullabyloo · 06/11/2007 13:53

.
FK....we have hunker (i have handcuffed her...she's here to stay)
so worry not

IdrisTheDragon · 06/11/2007 13:55

Franny is back (she posted on her going to the dcotr when pregnant thread).

I have just been out for lunch. It was good (although not F&V like ).

lullabyloo · 06/11/2007 13:58

hurray!!!!!

I have had a huuuuuuge lunch >
lentil/onion/pepper/mushroom/chickpea/hazelnut loaf with houmus & cabbage,carrot,rocket,spring onion,tomato,cucumber,beetroot,cress salad

FrayedKnot · 06/11/2007 14:03

Ah ha, don;t let her escape, LL!!

If she stays for more than 24 hours I reckon we can call her a new member, even though she hasn;t strictly sworn her allegiance yet

I have been quite good today so far, I think I've had 6 portions.

I think I'm going to try PSW's aubergine bharta tonight if I can find the recipe

hunkermunker · 06/11/2007 14:12

What's the allegiance of which you speak (and this "she" business will have to stop as well, FK )?

lionheart · 06/11/2007 14:17

I don't get Kevin.

lullabyloo · 06/11/2007 14:20

hunker....we'll leave that to our great leader...when she finally returns

lullabyloo · 06/11/2007 14:21

FK.....wasn't it wombling's aubergine thingy?

lionheart · 06/11/2007 14:22

A series of short visits (which is what we appear to have here),

is the same as pulling up a chair and plonking yourself down.

FrannyandZooey · 06/11/2007 14:50

sorry I only had 1.5 minutes to post before going out again

doctor's was fine, they did that wheelie thing and the newest 10 / 10 er is due on July 6th

will read thread now

FrannyandZooey · 06/11/2007 15:01

zippi PAY ATTENTION I am going to the doctor because I am UP THE DUFF

took my blood pressure, was marvellous. I said "that's because I eat 10 portions of f+v a day you know" (I didn't really)

Hunker we don't really frown on anything. Well not so as you would notice. Only bleach, and the rape of the oceans [struggles manfully with snorting]

yes to Kevin Spacey looking like Robert Lindsay. In fact YES YES to both of them. Together or consecutively.

Tatties that day will come sooner than you think, honest. I thought ds would NEVER EVER wean. He was the most voracious feeder and the most passionate night feeder. It was - well, you know what it is like. Then one day - boom, it is gone.

100 - "quite clever and a little bit sinister and funny" Sounds perfect to me. What's not to like?

at brie being eaten like ice cream.

Lionheart I think the mystique is part of the allure

I had carrot and lentil soup with granary bread at gallery cafe, then kept pestering ds to have bits of his salad and cheese roll. He didn't co-operate much.
