For anyone who wants a boost to their general health. The suggested goals are:

EAT 10 PORTIONS OF FRUIT AND VEGETABLES EVERY DAY - if you don't usually eat much fruit and veg I would build up gradually or you could upset your digestion.

DO (AT LEAST) 10 MINUTES OF EXERCISE EVERY DAY - can be yoga, stretching or something more energetic. The plan is that the idea of doing 10 minutes is not too daunting, and having started you may well find you want to do more.

There are no restrictions on what you eat so long as you get your 10 fruit and veg as well. The focus is not on weight loss but on improving our energy levels and hopefully our general mood and well-being. Sign up below and post here to tell us how you're getting on and how you are feeling.

Basic guidance on what constitutes a portion of fruit and veg here and you can download more detailed information by following the link at the very bottom of the page

I've missed MrsC and her soulfulness. Can we put that on the banner?

What does a gardener look like?
I am not a vegetarian, not even a lapsed one.

LL you gave a very nice speech and you are very kind, and I keep forgetting to say things to people because I have to always get on with the urgent, pressing, all-important matter of talking about myself.
Who else? Zippi, you're hair is lovely I'm sure, erm, FMF talked to her, erm Boco, done that, erm . . . .TooT! Well done on everything, and same to Lionheart, FK and Tatties, and Gizmo and all other industrious and marvellous veggies.

Shall we do portions?

ArrogantCod · 09/11/2007 18:45

IdrisTheDragon · 09/11/2007 18:49

I am lurking here while DH is doing bedtime type things. Like bath and running around like a wild thing .

DS is 3.11 and has only started doing faces in the past couple of months. It was as if a switch suddenly turned on and he realised how to draw.

fullmoonfiend · 09/11/2007 18:49

Look! I have made Mrs C a Birthday Cake!!!

Happy Birthday Mrs Carrot

Boco · 09/11/2007 18:49

Oh i like Bobo, it's like a small bear sidekick kind of a fella. Better than wanker and nonce, although i'm charmed by those affectionate nicknames too obv.

Yes, done towels and kettle. I'm putting hope in the steroids, but she's coughing like a crazed sealion already.

zippitippitoes · 09/11/2007 18:50

I hate lying awake in bed lsitening to people coughing i am ver selfish with that it makes me very grumpy specially when it is dds bf

ahundredtimes · 09/11/2007 18:51

Wasn't Bobo Top Cat's side kick? Was he? There was a rather small dim blue one, and a very plausible pink one in a white waistcoat, but I can't remember their names.

FrannyandZooey · 09/11/2007 18:55

I am going to talk about fruit and vegetables.

I have had a bit of salad and lots of beetroot with my dinner. Not very good is it. Dinner went a bit wrong actually, it was meant to be pizza wraps which sounds odd but I think it would have worked. I was defrosting pizza sauce and I was going to heat it up and put it in wraps with cheese. But when the sauce defrosted I found it was actually a child's portion of parsnip stew. It all went downhill from there really.

gizmo · 09/11/2007 18:55

Yes I remember Bobo 'smarter than the average bear'

In fact maybe this has legs for a new title:

'smarter than the average pear'?

[Hopeful]

gizmo · 09/11/2007 18:58

Pizza wraps sounds quite good actually, I'm rather partial to a spot of calzone.

Today has been salad x2 bananas x2, fruity couscous (cranberries, red onion, chickpeas) caramelised pear, walnuts and muesli.

Dunno about dinner yet, it will involve prawns, pasta and a baked apple.

But no exercise beyond standard bike ride to work - rest day for gizmo.

FrannyandZooey · 09/11/2007 18:59

ahundredtimes · 09/11/2007 19:03
FrannyandZooey · 09/11/2007 19:03

can I go and just speak to him and not actually do a workout while I am there? Because I may die if he tries to make me actually do anything

also can i just turn up in ordinary clothes? I can't be arsed otherwise, i am going to be like some sort of quick change artist tomorrow
