For anyone who wants a boost to their general health. The suggested goals are:

EAT 10 PORTIONS OF FRUIT AND VEGETABLES EVERY DAY - if you don't usually eat much fruit and veg I would build up gradually or you could upset your digestion.

DO (AT LEAST) 10 MINUTES OF EXERCISE EVERY DAY - can be yoga, stretching or something more energetic. The plan is that the idea of doing 10 minutes is not too daunting, and having started you may well find you want to do more.

There are no restrictions on what you eat so long as you get your 10 fruit and veg as well. The focus is not on weight loss but on improving our energy levels and hopefully our general mood and well-being. Sign up below and post here to tell us how you're getting on and how you are feeling.

Basic guidance on what constitutes a portion of fruit and veg here and you can download more detailed information by following the link at the very bottom of the page

LL - girls are generally quicker at drawing 'things' than boys. Round about 3 they 'ought' to be able to do a circle with dots for eyes and a smile. But is does vary a lot from my preschool experience. Some of the girls were writing their names at 3 while the boys were more interested in trying to insert pencils into orifices....

TooTicky · 09/11/2007 17:35

Dd2 drew a dog the other day, with features, but in strange places. She is 2. Dd1 and ds1 were doing faces from 3ish. Ds2 had a drawing breakthrough with faces and monkeys and things when he was 4.

lullabyloo · 09/11/2007 17:35

ds can spell his name...but not write it

ahundredtimes · 09/11/2007 17:36

Great, she's in then. She can come round with TooT's dd1, who I suspect does good cutting remarks too, and we will all sit and colour in at the table and raise our eyebrows at one another in a sceptical way and it will be good.

Things have settled down now, and dd has recovered herself somewhat and stopped showing off so much. They are upstairs, so I'm guessing this is what happened. QF's mother on-her-way.

TooTicky · 09/11/2007 17:36

Boco, your dd1 sounds like my dd1. God help you
Glad you're not flooded anyway.

Hello LL

fullmoonfiend · 09/11/2007 17:39

LL - that's brillinat if he can spell his name.

see I can't even spell brilliant and I am 34 years older than he is.

Boco · 09/11/2007 17:49

dd2 is good at drawing, she could do faces before she was 2. Now shes 2.10, and she does people with bodies and arms coming out of their heads and very very long fingers and legs. And they have big googly eyeballs. And she signs her pictures with a big letter E. Dd1 didn't draw faces as early i'm sure.

Boco listen to Lully's post because it was fab. When you don't come on and vent I worry about what is happening so please do. Have a ventathon if necessary.

Lully sent me the most extraordinary chocolate amongst other things. It is called Conscious Chocolate and I haven't ever tasted anything quite like it before. Lully I had to share with ds as I wanted to eat some straight away! I was thinking today, this thread is just like a front for sending each other chocolate. Hoorah.

fullmoonfiend · 09/11/2007 18:26

Can you bring some of your lovely chocolate next weekend??

Another thread title -
Keep young and fruitiful, if you want to be loved...

FrannyandZooey · 09/11/2007 18:27

No it is a small and perfectly formed bar and have already felt obliged to share with ds and dp. Geddoffit.

Hello Cod, i love the diary thank you again - you are NiceKindCod. Yes, dd is sick with croup - at my feet today in fact. The bathroom steam thing is so annoying at 3am, we never actually get that much steam, and it's boring.

Thanks Franny, about the being ok to moan a lot thing. I will. Dp going away in the morning and i get 2 nights with the bed to myself so if it wasn't for dds croup there would be the possibility of actual sleep, that is cheering.
