For anyone who wants a boost to their general health. The suggested goals are:

EAT 10 PORTIONS OF FRUIT AND VEGETABLES EVERY DAY - if you don't usually eat much fruit and veg I would build up gradually or you could upset your digestion.

DO (AT LEAST) 10 MINUTES OF EXERCISE EVERY DAY - can be yoga, stretching or something more energetic. The plan is that the idea of doing 10 minutes is not too daunting, and having started you may well find you want to do more.

There are no restrictions on what you eat so long as you get your 10 fruit and veg as well. The focus is not on weight loss but on improving our energy levels and hopefully our general mood and well-being. Sign up below and post here to tell us how you're getting on and how you are feeling.

Basic guidance on what constitutes a portion of fruit and veg here and you can download more detailed information by following the link at the very bottom of the page

Oh well I can't help you then. I like to confront and know all my fears and worries, I like them written down in black ink with doodles beside them, and sometimes footnotes too, or arrows sometimes linking particular anxieties to either the To Do List or Back of My Mind.

For instance, on the Back of My Mind list is written 'there is the distinct possibility that the upstairs loo is a hygiene hazaard and we are all going to get dysentry, and I am an awful person because it stinks and doesn't work and when people come round they must wonder about this awful cess pit at the top of the house and what it says about my general level of competence in life' and then that is linked to 'Call the Plumber' and 'Make a sign saying 'Loo Out of Order'.

See?

fullmoonfiend · 09/11/2007 10:10

lol. Would it be a misuse of my time then, to sit down and make Toxic Waste signs for all my room doors then? And just have a beautifully tidy hallway?

Someone said sneeringly to me in the playground ''oooh, you're always on the go , you,'' (I was handing out the cake stall forms) and I wanted to just grab her by the shoulders and say
''don't you realise, if i stand still too long, I suddenly become aware of the fact that I have no pension plan, my children are growing up into a world of global warming, my son will end up working in Macdonalds because he hates school so much he wants to leave NOW, my husband is having a mid-life crisis, my other ds needs to go to the dentist for a check up and I keep forgetting to book him in, I have no clean underwear left because I have done no washing and I have an important funding review meeting at work which I have forgotton to write reports for!!!''

My whole life is one (cunningly and carefully-crafted) distraction technique!

ahundredtimes · 09/11/2007 10:13

Ah you see, there you go in that one hysterical declaration in the playground you have To Do, Back of My Mind, Middle of the Night/Awful Fears.

I should say though, that not all these are NOT supposed to have answers or resolutions. Oh no. There are NO links to Awful Fears or Middle of the Night at the moment, but there they are, all written down with stars next to them.

You should get your dp to make one too. They are v. good mid-life I think.

fullmoonfiend · 09/11/2007 10:15

I am going to hairdresser in a couple of hours

TooTicky · 09/11/2007 10:53

100x and Fmf, I love you both

I am cold. I am making toast and drinking hibiscus and ginger tea. The wind is moaning but the sun is shining.

gizmo · 09/11/2007 10:59

FMF, you make me laff. I think I may have to nominate that little outburst for quote of the week.

fullmoonfiend · 09/11/2007 11:06

I heart you all.

TT - will you talk music with me next weekend? We have similar tastes according to your profile...
We can get tipsy on organic beer and sing ''Don't worry, 'bout a thing..'' slurrily to each other

Gizmo, 100, i wish you were coming too

Tatties, when I next manage to stay awake past 9pm, I will ring you...

littlerach · 09/11/2007 11:14

FMF, people say that to me too, and i have similar toughts to you.
But mine go along the lines of
"Yet again the boiler has broken and i ma too much of a coward to call the plumber who obviously hasn't fixed it (again), and dd2 will never be dry at nioght, or sleep through the night, and dd1 is so clever am I spending wnough time with her, and I still need to call County about pre school, and are all the policies crrect, and ooops, I should also think about my paid work, and also dh."

He shouldn't really be bottom of the list though.

But insrtead I smile and say
"I know, but soemone has to help out, and do blah blah blah"
And grit my teeth!!!

Tatties · 09/11/2007 11:37

Franny I have something funny to tell but I am going to wait until you are here

Lully so sorry about the bunny, poor ds

FMF I shall be sitting by the phone

Hello everyone

ahundredtimes · 09/11/2007 11:51

People NEVER say things like that to me.

This is because I am lazy and languid and spend my days staring out the window and compiling lists of Dark Thoughts.

However, all this will change when I get an allotment. Won't it FMF? People will applaud from the pavement and shout over the hedge 'How do you manage to fit it all in? What with the lists and the staring and NOW carrots too!'

FrannyandZooey · 09/11/2007 12:00

100 I love you having an allotment. You are very brave, I am too scared

Tatties I am here I am here

Tatties · 09/11/2007 12:11

Ok. This is going to be a huge let down probably but I thought it was funny

We were shopping the other day, walking down the magazine aisle, when ds spotted a TV guide with Daniel Radcliffe on the front (as some WWII character) and shouted, "DADDY!"

ahundredtimes · 09/11/2007 12:12

Oh I haven't GOT one yet. I put my name on the list, and the lady did this sniffing thing, so I think I'm quite a long way down the list because apparantly I don't look like a gardener.

I am going to eat a large steak for lunch. I'm sorry, but I am.

I want to tell you this because it has made me snurk all day. Last night dh had to go to a curriculum evening at the school, where they had to go round from classroom to classroom learning how to do subtraction, or something. Anyway dh walked into one classroom and the teacher said 'Where have you come from?' and dh was a bit surprised and said 'Coventry' and the teacher frowned at him and said 'No I mean have you come from the art room?'

See what I mean about him making me laugh every day?

fullmoonfiend · 09/11/2007 12:16

Ah Tatties!!

(we had a similar one years ago with Mr Motivator!! (dh is white. And not a fit man....)

100x, yes, you will have to practise that slightly smug, nodding-in-agreement-while-attempting-to-protest-smile (a la Nigella) to recieve all the admiring glances and comments you will recieve when people find out that in addition to having a clever, amusing husband, dramatic hair, children and being a World Class Neurotic, you find time to shovel shit, and produce a grand total of three, worm-eaten carrots a year. It is quite an achievement....

Tatties, did anyone spot your DS's outburst?

Were there heartbroken 16 year old girls throwing themselves at you going: 'He said he was mine, the callous toad!'
