For anyone who wants a boost to their general health. The suggested goals are:

EAT 10 PORTIONS OF FRUIT AND VEGETABLES EVERY DAY - if you don't usually eat much fruit and veg I would build up gradually or you could upset your digestion.

DO (AT LEAST) 10 MINUTES OF EXERCISE EVERY DAY - can be yoga, stretching or something more energetic. The plan is that the idea of doing 10 minutes is not too daunting, and having started you may well find you want to do more.

There are no restrictions on what you eat so long as you get your 10 fruit and veg as well. The focus is not on weight loss but on improving our energy levels and hopefully our general mood and well-being. Sign up below and post here to tell us how you're getting on and how you are feeling.

Basic guidance on what constitutes a portion of fruit and veg here and you can download more detailed information by following the link at the very bottom of the page

lullabyloo · 09/11/2007 12:35

fmf......gosh but you are speedy
thankyou lovely....do you think 3 lemons & less sugar would be excessive/awful?

IdrisTheDragon · 09/11/2007 12:36

I am having a hair cut and colour tomorrow. I feel like doing some dramatic .

fullmoonfiend · 09/11/2007 12:36

less sugar is fine (I always use less, think 3 lemons might be bit too sharp though..)

fullmoonfiend · 09/11/2007 12:37

idris, i have haircut in 20 mins. Want dramatic, will probably settle for less manic

Tatties · 09/11/2007 12:47

LOL Gizmo, no-one was throwing themselves at us! I don't think it happens to dp either (except maybe when I am not there and he doesn't tell me... doubt it though) I just thought it was funny that ds noticed the resemblance when it has been commented on by people before

FMF you do not look like a gardener

TooTicky · 09/11/2007 13:08

Are you all getting your hair done for the meet-up?

LL, what have you been sending Franny? I am intrigued...

TooTicky · 09/11/2007 13:15

Fmf, of course I will talk music with you. Probably not over beer though as I will be in sole charge of 4 dcs and we aren't doing the evening/overnight bit so I will need to drive home from the train station later. Anyway, I prefer cider these days

TooTicky · 09/11/2007 13:59

Oh, sorry LL

Conscience chocolate sounds interesting. Does youir conscience trouble you if you don't eat it? That would be fun. Sorry, I was being nosy, but the vague references to chocolate in combination with rose otto were fascinating.

lullabyloo · 09/11/2007 14:04

Don't be sorry.....I shouldn't even mention it ...it is becoming really hard to deal with on a daily basis though...I just wish it would hurry up & drop out & be done with it....the shedding thing is uggggghhhhh.

Toot.........email me your addy again & I shall feed your conscience

Boco · 09/11/2007 14:21

Hello Veggers.
You won't believe this, but now dd2 has croup again. I didn't really believe it at 2 am. Did the steam in the bathroom thing but wasn't really working, so tried to do wet flannels on the radiator in her room. Had a shouty row with dp at 3am who decided it's too costly to have the heating on at night for more than an hour, but he couldn't work the timer on the boiler either so stood staring at instructions in the kitchen for half an hour rather that just switching it on!!.

Another trip to the GP who i was worried would think i had munchausen by proxy as i seem to live in his surgery. But he said croup before i'd even got into the waiting room as he heard her barking. She's got steroids this time so i hope they work soon.

Feeling a little bit last straw about a sleepless night of coughing after a bad few weeks. Had to walk around the village to avoid friends at toddler group until i could be sure i wasn't going to do messy crying. Was fine and went for nice lunch with new friend which was cheering and now dd asleep.

Is it only my children who are always ill?

Boco · 09/11/2007 14:23

Oh i'm sorry Lully, what a self indulgent post I've written after all you have to cope with. You're always so positive and lovely! Sorry you're having to go through such a horrible thing.

gizmo · 09/11/2007 14:32

Boco

You've had a sht night and a sht couple of days, from the sound of things. I think you are well within your rights to vent: isn't that what we all use Mumsnet for?

Boco · 09/11/2007 14:55

Thanks Gizmo, I just maybe vent too much atm as we all seem to be constantly ill in some way or other and i do hope i'm not annoyingly self absorbed with all my moaning.

ahundredtimes · 09/11/2007 15:13

We all heart Boco, and that's an end to it, and everyone is thinking of you and hugging you whilst chewing on celery stalks.

God, I've done well today. My house is transformed. It has suffered months, literally months, of neglect. DH came down and said 'It's really making a difference what you're doing, everything looks nice' and I said 'what do you mean what I'm doing?' and he said 'what are you doing?' and I said 'cleaning' and he said 'well that's whats made a difference then.' We have conversations like this all the time.

I went to band with new friend. She texted me saying 'You are a great date.' This has pleased me enormously. I want to be a Great Date very much.

House is full of other people's children this weekend. Starting with dd's friend - who is quiet and colours when you speak to her. I am nervous. I don't do well with these kinds of children, but I shall think of Boco's dd1 and pretend it is her and then I'll love her. Then, oh countless children, all weekend. Is quite a shock, after ds1 and his no friends thing. Though, he's had a helluva week. He's going to a sleep over tonight. Isn't that nice? He's Made a Friend! Ra ra ra ds1.

Must go. Kisses to Boco.

ahundredtimes · 09/11/2007 15:14

Oh sorry, and kisses to anyone else who might want one, and you should all want one, because I am a Great Date, it is official.

lullabyloo · 09/11/2007 15:19

Boco.....((((((huge hug))))))))
