Hi, it's me.

I am quivering and can hardly move for fear.

Need some calming words.

Glad you posted OJ - I just couldn't believe that the trite old line of "there are other people suffering worse things, pull yourself together" was used by Paws to justify being really unpleasant.
Downright nasty if you ask me.

pinkbubble · 01/11/2007 14:12

Hi DG, how are things today? Has DD gone to school?

Ignore Paws, I know exactly how you feel, but it still doesnt help!

Thinking of you, I will be around on MSN later if you want to drop in for a chat!

Take care

DumbledoresGirl · 01/11/2007 14:47

I know Paws' offensive posts have been deleted, and I was just going to let this thread lie, but I found this thread and was to see that she has an entirely different response to emetophobia there. Why pick on me?

OP posts:
pinkbubble · 01/11/2007 14:52

How odd! perhaps she thought she was trying to help!

zippitippitoes · 01/11/2007 14:53

think she must have ishoos..that is odd

onebatmother · 01/11/2007 14:57

How amazing! do you think paws1 knows what paws2 is doing?!

onebatmother · 01/11/2007 14:57

Erk just realized that was in rather poor taste sorry

Elasticwoman · 01/11/2007 17:42

I still think you have been a lot ruder to Paws than she was to you, although she was rather forthright.

There is knowledge about the subject of phobias, and there is belief.

How is your little girl, now, DG?

zippitippitoes · 01/11/2007 17:43

eh...belief?

DumbledoresGirl · 01/11/2007 18:28

I am afraid it is not a matter of belief. We are not discussing religion.

My dd is fine now thank you. It was a false alarm.

elesbells · 01/11/2007 19:28

ruder to paws? i must have read the wrong thread

becaroo · 01/11/2007 19:28

Hope you are feeling better DG....glad your dd is fine.

onebatmother · 01/11/2007 21:14

DG just to confirm you were IN NO WAY ruder. Hope things are calm tonight for you.

haychEebeeJeebees · 01/11/2007 21:21

No you wernt ruder.
It was the comment about the postage of something to you in a bag that started all the trouble. That was just the most awful thing ever to say to anyone, even your worst enemy who isnt an emetophobe.

DG, missed all this but hoping you are ok today x

onebatmother · 02/11/2007 10:23

Hello DG, hope you're feeling ok today.

GunpowderDragonsAndSoup · 02/11/2007 10:28

'Frau, if you can swipe a load of airline sick bags it works even better as they're opaque and still fit in the beach bucket. DS1 got sent home from school with a bag once and it was fabulous (in a foul kind of way!) which gave me the idea.

NBheebieGeebies · 02/11/2007 10:29

Morning DG.

Missed this yesterday but just wanted to say even though it was a false alarm, you got through it!!

DumbledoresGirl · 02/11/2007 11:06

Thanks everyone (well all you nice people anyway ) You are such a fabulous bunch of people. It is because of you that I posted in the first place - just to hear some friendly (and possibly understanding) words. I just wish those people who can't resist saying something negative would type it all out and then forget to press the post button. Life would be much more pleasant then.

Anyway, just to reiterate: dd fine (false alarm), other kids fine, me...well...not fine but nothing to do with illness or this, weekend nearly upon us, sun shining, so all in all, life could be worse!

OP posts:
Ellbell · 02/11/2007 11:19

DG, NBG makes a good point. You coped. You got through it. OK, so 'the worst' didn't happen, but the stress and fear was still there... and you dealt with it.

We need a big round of applause emoticon... but for now I'll just send you one of these . Hope you have a good weekend.

BurrrrrrrrrrningNbg · 02/11/2007 11:23

I'll second that Ellbell!

I have to say I spluttered a bit when I read the post about "not thinking about it".
DG you are right, its not something you really have control over and thats what sparks the emotions and fear.

As you know I'm not an emetophobe but have a different phobia and know all too well how it makes you feel.
