For anyone who wants a boost to their general health. The suggested goals are:

EAT 10 PORTIONS OF FRUIT AND VEGETABLES EVERY DAY - if you don't usually eat much fruit and veg I would build up gradually or you could upset your digestion.

DO (AT LEAST) 10 MINUTES OF EXERCISE EVERY DAY - can be yoga, stretching or something more energetic. The plan is that the idea of doing 10 minutes is not too daunting, and having started you may well find you want to do more.

There are no restrictions on what you eat so long as you get your 10 fruit and veg as well. The focus is not on weight loss but on improving our energy levels and hopefully our general mood and well-being. Sign up below and post here to tell us how you're getting on and how you are feeling.

Basic guidance on what constitutes a portion of fruit and veg here and you can download more detailed information by following the link at the very bottom of the page

Bourbon could be vanilla. Or a biscuit. Would thinking of it this way appal you less?

100x, I say things like that to her but I suspect she needs somebody else to say them. It might make her think. She keeps being pitiful and it drives me MAD because I know she can snap out of her tiredness/misery/whine/minor injury distress at will. I am probably a bad mother.

MrScarRot · 30/10/2007 22:11

Bourbon is whiskey

I am having people over for some drinks next weekend and I thought we might have cocktails. I am not very adventurous though, we might just have margheritas because I like them.

ahundredtimes · 30/10/2007 22:11

Well tbh TooT, we'd probably be fine because I'd just whine and moan louder and MORE and eventually she'd be stilled into silence.

TooTicky · 30/10/2007 22:12

Don't make anything nice FK. Trickortreaters should not be encouraged. Thank goodness we don't get them here. Dd1 and ds1 think I am very mean for not letting them do it.

FrannyandZooey · 30/10/2007 22:12

LOL don;t be silly "talking about drink"

I just thought amaretto sounded swoonsome and I love lime and then BOURBON [ugh] very odd

I am sorry you are feeling down 100, i should think you must be exhausted after the party and Venice and everything, never mind a load more stuff to do

Franny, I have found this and this and this for you to read. Now sit down with your feet up here have a cushion Shall I bring you a drink? Or some green leafy veg?

MrScarRot · 30/10/2007 22:13

I have lots of stuff for trick or treaters. They are mostly littlies from the school and we wave at the frozen parents at the end of the path.

FrannyandZooey · 30/10/2007 22:13

Oh I love trick or treaters! They are so sweet round here and they stop when I put a sign on the door saying ds has gone to bed

I always give them healthy boring stuff like fruit and then odd things like glowsticks and they are terribly polite and try to look pleased

We have just carved our first ever pumpkin, he looks very smiley and has been glowing in the window all evening

And we toasted the seeds with cumin and they were lovely

Ds says we are all going to dress up as fairies for Hallloween

Why can't we talk about drink?

ahundredtimes · 30/10/2007 22:14

Oh gawd, that sounds awful Franny. Being down after the terrible strain of going to Venice.

I sound terrible. I don't think it's that. It's just the phone goes all the time, and I have had uncomfortable email correspondence with interested party re 'work' and then the phone goes, and then something else happens, and I'm meant to have done this and that, and I feel like exploding or crying, or both, possibly at once, when I have finished this cocktail.

MrScarRot · 30/10/2007 22:15

Oh, we can, it's um, medicinal!

Night Franny, sleep well.

FrayedKnot · 30/10/2007 22:16

It's only our neighbours, and I make DH answer the door if anyone knocks later than 7

Now I really am going to wash my hair

MrScarRot · 30/10/2007 22:16

Can't you make another one?

pinkspottywerewolf · 30/10/2007 22:16

Nobody liked my 'sling woven from lentils' idea

I'm going to bed

100x, you need a rest. Early nights, hot water bottles and good books.

MrScarRot · 30/10/2007 22:17

I did, PSW, I lke patchwork

MrScarRot · 30/10/2007 22:18

She doesn't need bed, Toot, she need more cocktails..

and then she needs to tell me how to make them

ahundredtimes · 30/10/2007 22:18

Everyone's going to bed MrsC.

I'll make you one too, you have to admire the slice of lime though.

TooTicky · 30/10/2007 22:19

Pink, I dream secret dreams of discovering lentil fibre.

MrScarRot · 30/10/2007 22:19

I love lime
