For anyone who wants a boost to their general health. The suggested goals are:

EAT 10 PORTIONS OF FRUIT AND VEGETABLES EVERY DAY - if you don't usually eat much fruit and veg I would build up gradually or you could upset your digestion.

DO (AT LEAST) 10 MINUTES OF EXERCISE EVERY DAY - can be yoga, stretching or something more energetic. The plan is that the idea of doing 10 minutes is not too daunting, and having started you may well find you want to do more.

There are no restrictions on what you eat so long as you get your 10 fruit and veg as well. The focus is not on weight loss but on improving our energy levels and hopefully our general mood and well-being. Sign up below and post here to tell us how you're getting on and how you are feeling.

Basic guidance on what constitutes a portion of fruit and veg here and you can download more detailed information by following the link at the very bottom of the page

What did you do well? Was it your wondrous eating so far this morning?

SauerKraut · 01/11/2007 08:49

That sounds like a lovely day. We are going to the playground and then the dentist. I have been having a very un- 10/10 time. My mum came from Dublin and brought shedloads of crap, which , of course, I am eating.

IdrisTheDragon · 01/11/2007 08:49

Hello zippi. Sorry, I forgot to say hello which is a little remiss of me.

FrannyandZooey · 01/11/2007 08:50

I have asked him what it is I have done so well

he said "doing that computer job"

so I am getting rewarded with chocolate by my own son for ignoring him and going on MN

I am going to get hounded off this thread aren't i

hi idris and 100 and franny and everyone

IdrisTheDragon · 01/11/2007 08:52

I am being at work. DS and DD will have a lovely time with the childminders. This is obviously good.

We all had a lovely time on Tuesday (a day I don't work) and greatly enjoyed cleaning the kitchen. I have discovered DS has a talent for washing up (he was very careful and diligent). He was also very good at getting crayon off the floor (and said to DD "you reaslly shouldn't colour on the floor DD).

Hello SK .

I am just about managing to talk to eveyrone else as well as talking about me .

IdrisTheDragon · 01/11/2007 08:53

at the computer work

zippitippitoes · 01/11/2007 08:53

hi idris and 100 and franny and everyone

AND SAUERKRAUT

SauerKraut · 01/11/2007 08:54

Heehee, for once it's not for me, it's for dd2. She has some stuff which needs to be scraped off, not plaque, I don't know what you call it. And yes, she is a very nice Polish lady with a good chair-side manner for pathetic panickers.

IdrisTheDragon · 01/11/2007 08:56

My dentist is all right, although I think he wonders how anyone can have such useless teeth . I wonder it too tbh.

IdrisTheDragon · 01/11/2007 08:56

I might be forced to do some work .

SauerKraut · 01/11/2007 08:57

Helloo, Idris and Zippi, sorry, my manners are crap today! And everyone else too.

FrannyandZooey · 01/11/2007 08:59

HELLO EVERYONE

it is like there are two separate threads on here, the after dark version with cocktails and stuff, and the morning goody two shoes version with Idris and me talking about fruit salad

You can send me your ds when you've finished with him, Idris, my kitchen is full of washing up which I am ignoring. The dcs have no school today and we are slobbing around in pjs and the shutters are down to discourage doorbell ringers. Which are frequent at early hours here. My pjs don't even match.

IdrisTheDragon · 01/11/2007 09:02

I ahve no idea why he likes washing up. I will have to leave more for him to do I think .

IdrisTheDragon · 01/11/2007 09:03

I think my tomorrow night going out may include cocktails. Just to bring the two threads together .

SauerKraut · 01/11/2007 09:04

I miss the after dark one, I wuss off to bed too early, and we are an hour later before we even start. I might daringly visit it one night only I hope there would be a cup of tea or some grape juice instead of cocktails, they scare me.

TigerFeet · 01/11/2007 09:19

I am poorly sick and off work

Clearly the 4.6 Tonnes of satsumas I have eaten this week have failed to do the trick [huff]

Anyway, I have just spent a lovely 15 mins reading this thread guilt-free as I am not supposed to be doing anything else.

I am now watching Nick Knowles on the tellybox

lionheart · 01/11/2007 09:22

Pina colada has coconut in it.

ghoulmoonfiend · 01/11/2007 09:45

morning beautiful fruitful friends.

I am so busy this week it is unreal and i am on here illegally.

Have lived off pumpkin soup for three days no >.
We had our firepit lit last night aand our trio of punpkins which ranged from 3 inches high to about a zillion inches in circumference, We trickedandtreated around the local estate where ''people may not have much but they now 'ow to 'ave a paaaaaarrrty'' and all the houses were much bedecked with fake cobwebs and creepy music. It was quite fun. Then we had our fellow trickortreaters back to the home where i hoped very much the dim candlelight would disguise quite how grim and dirty my house is at the moment.

Must go, I have to do some work before my scheduled nervous breakdown....

Sorry, that's the pumpkin soup again...

ghoulmoonfiend · 01/11/2007 09:46

tiger feet - hope you feel better (well, better enough to enjoy being home sick IFKWIM) soon
