For anyone who wants a boost to their general health. The suggested goals are:

EAT 10 PORTIONS OF FRUIT AND VEGETABLES EVERY DAY - if you don't usually eat much fruit and veg I would build up gradually or you could upset your digestion.

DO (AT LEAST) 10 MINUTES OF EXERCISE EVERY DAY - can be yoga, stretching or something more energetic. The plan is that the idea of doing 10 minutes is not too daunting, and having started you may well find you want to do more.

There are no restrictions on what you eat so long as you get your 10 fruit and veg as well. The focus is not on weight loss but on improving our energy levels and hopefully our general mood and well-being. Sign up below and post here to tell us how you're getting on and how you are feeling.

Basic guidance on what constitutes a portion of fruit and veg here and you can download more detailed information by following the link at the very bottom of the page

Yep.

Bocoreepy · 31/10/2007 22:56

My friend spilled red wine on my carpet last weekend, and then threw salt on top and said 'there, it'll be fine, you just add salt' and the next day i shoveled off all the malvern sea salt and the stain was just glowing redly underneath.

Should that not be spilt, is spilt a word, it isn't is it.

TooTicky · 31/10/2007 22:57

You'll have to spill some more - nice regular, arty splodges.

SauerKraut · 01/11/2007 07:54

Firepit sounds great! I threw dressed-up-and-rather-niftily-face-painted dcs out wth dh for trick or treating and bogged off to a Very Serious band rehearsal. I'm sure dh had more fun. In fact I know he did Sorry to hear about your boob problems, MrsC. I wish I could send you some quark... And it's great that the Boco household can consider rubbing the cross off the door! TT, you make me feel a bit more normal- there are loads of people I can't invite to my house before having a major tidying session, so they only come about once a year!

FrannyandZooey · 01/11/2007 08:32

this is terrible, am missing out on all fun and interesting conversations every night and am going to be pariah on my own thread

(you HAVE to let me hold on to the misconception that this is my thread)

Hello. Somehow I went to bed late and missed the talking on here. Gah.

How bad would it be to take part in my company's Bikes at Work scheme given that you are meant to use it 50% of the riding time for going to work and I would be very unlikely to ever do that (although possibly my total riding time would not be that great anyway [hhmm].

(I live 50 miles away from work, and go by train. Could pretend to cycle to the station I suppose. Or even actually do it (the website says this is All Right).

Am eating museli. Fruit salad to follow. This is a good thing about work - if you get in before 8:30 you can have subsidised food (£1.75 worth) which means I can have museli and fruit salad for 50 [hsmile].

Got very cross with myself this morning when I couldn't make the car go into reverse. DH had to get out of bed and come and help. It is new (to us, last weekend) but felt silly. Bother.

I too just seem to waffle on to myslef on here and try and join in with others but seem to fail dismally. Bother again.

Our carpet has about a million stains on it. This is a conservative estimate. One day, when DD can be relied on not to wee on it, and when there is some chance we will all stop throwing food around, and when theresome amount of money floating around, we will get a new one. The chances of these things happening in the next few years is hopefully slightly likely.

I am procrastinating. Museli finished, fruit salad next.

FrannyandZooey · 01/11/2007 08:34

Bother again. The halloween smileys don't seem to work anymore .

I have done duff smileys in the above message .

IdrisTheDragon · 01/11/2007 08:36

And I get the food for 5p. Not 50. I have no typing abilities today.

Franny, this will always be your thread .

FrannyandZooey · 01/11/2007 08:41

I have eaten pear and banana and melon and raisins and an orange and soya milk and oats and ground almonds

I need people to come and say I am eating good things

I will have to join WWW's thread if people don't butter me up a bit more, I am exponentially more attention seeking and needy when pg

Idris you witter beautifully, I think this thread is all about the art of the non-linear witter, isn't it?

IdrisTheDragon · 01/11/2007 08:41

at RL friend. I have people in RL who are sort of friends in that they are the mums of people who have children around DS's age. But they are really friends. Not sure DS is that bothered with the children either . We are going out tomorrow night though (to a Mexican I think).

FrannyandZooey · 01/11/2007 08:42

sorry you said waffle

the non-linear waffle then

zippitippitoes · 01/11/2007 08:42

i went to bed terribly late and i am skiving off today

i only talk to and about myself so the meet up should be interesting...i'll have my own table by the toilets i think

IdrisTheDragon · 01/11/2007 08:43

You have eaten a wondrous (is that a word?) amount of food already today. I am very impressed.

(I remember having excellent intentions with both pregnancies, especially DS where for about 2 weeks I was a paragon of virtue). Then "morning" sickness happened and I just ate boiled potatoes for weeks.

IdrisTheDragon · 01/11/2007 08:43

I witter as well as waffle. If I am feeling really inspired I wiffle as well .

FrannyandZooey · 01/11/2007 08:44

zippi we will pass you around the table like a mascot

ds and I are going to a nature craft / story time thing

then the library, then cafe at the art gallery

we are so ruddy wholesome it is not true, I may have to go and sniff some glue afterwards to counteract the goody two shoes ness of our middle class existence

OP posts:
zippitippitoes · 01/11/2007 08:45

oh and i haven't eaten anything yet or last night either..i am totally not worthy and if i was good i would have a confession to make too

FrannyandZooey · 01/11/2007 08:45

Ds just said "mummy you have done so well I think you should have one of my halloween chocolates"

there is so much wrong with that sentence that i don't know where to begin
