For anyone who wants a boost to their general health. The suggested goals are:

EAT 10 PORTIONS OF FRUIT AND VEGETABLES EVERY DAY - if you don't usually eat much fruit and veg I would build up gradually or you could upset your digestion.

DO (AT LEAST) 10 MINUTES OF EXERCISE EVERY DAY - can be yoga, stretching or something more energetic. The plan is that the idea of doing 10 minutes is not too daunting, and having started you may well find you want to do more.

There are no restrictions on what you eat so long as you get your 10 fruit and veg as well. The focus is not on weight loss but on improving our energy levels and hopefully our general mood and well-being. Sign up below and post here to tell us how you're getting on and how you are feeling.

Basic guidance on what constitutes a portion of fruit and veg here and you can download more detailed information by following the link at the very bottom of the page

Boco...congratulations...not quite sure what you passed but it's good enough for me that you are so happy about it

Lullaby....oh lol at your ds....

Toot...sorry you are having probs

Well, I am feeling better today, so that is a start...not brill, but well, I got up this morning and actuelly felt rested....es back at school today....!
Well, called University earlier, as I still hadn't received the prospectus...hohum, apparently I wasn't in the system, so, if I can't pick one up at the Open day,I shall let them know and they'll send me one afterwards....
Been driving myself completely bonkers about all teh subjects I could take and the possibilities...and whilst I will still look at all possibilities, I have come to the realisation that I think Occupational Therapy would actually be the thing for me...it's kinda all the good things, that drew me into Nursing in the first place, without the bad bits of it....

Well, had carrots so far, plenty of them mind...but nothing else...well healthy things...had a chocolate bar though ...

How is it going for you all?

Lullabyloo · 04/10/2007 14:31

Have eaten a very large salad with roasted veg, feta & a lovely basil dressing
am contemplating the bar of crying chocolate from my wonderful parcel.............

FrayedKnot · 04/10/2007 17:40

Hi all

Congratulations Boco!!

Today I have had soup, salad, and am about to have watercress pasta again becuase I loved it so much the other night

DS & DH will be pleased

But my fruit intake is dwindling as we have low stocks. DS is eating everything we have

FrannyHasBeenBanned · 04/10/2007 17:47

Oh well done Boco!

Ds and I have been in the woods. Was beautiful day and we got some fab photos and gathered woohoo. I feel like Felicity Kendal. Which is a definite step up from Emma Bovary

FrannyHasBeenBanned · 04/10/2007 18:00

Does anyone know, when you get the chestnuts and they are not quite brown, but still white in parts (like conkers when they aren't really ready to come out), can you still eat them? Or are they unripe and will taste nasty or do us harm or something? We picked up quite a few that still have white bits on them.

FrannyandZombie · 04/10/2007 18:09

Oh and I ate hummus and raw carrot, broccoli and cauliflower, and a fruit salad thing from the supermarket. And I cycled 7 miles with ds in the trailer.

FrannyandZombie · 04/10/2007 18:11

I don't like this halloween name. I am sure the same thing happened last year and that's why I ended up with Frankendoodah again. But I am not doing it this year. Oh bother.

Feel free to just leave me here talking to myself, that's fine.

Boco · 04/10/2007 18:27

Why were you Franny has been banned?

I can't think of a halloween name. Maybe booco, but it's not very good.

I went for lunch with my dad to a nice village pub and sat in the sun and it was nice - then dd1 came home and rode her bike without stabilizers for the first time ever - after a huge amount of frustration at the weekend, so we went to the park to celebrate and she rode around for an hour and now is so tired that she's speaking in a permanent high pitched whine that is making me need to retreat to safe place in my mind.

I was trying to join in with the big girls' game.

No stabilisers! How cool.

Maybe you could be GobBocolinoTheWitchesCat

ahundredtimes · 04/10/2007 18:35

Boco - that place in your mind is where Avi actually lives.

We are doing a project on soundproofing and we are now going to 'decorate' two teddies on an environmental theme for tomorrow. Oh fgs. What do we do? DS2 says, make a sign saying 'Please recycle me' and I said 'Yes that's brilliant' and then we had a sort of stand-off, with our hands on hips both saying 'Go on then' to each other. I WON'T do it, he MUST do it etc etc ad nauseum.

Boco · 04/10/2007 18:35

Hey Dior, you know that you and me and Bee all have dds with the same name then? Isn't that funny - and i've never met another one, and now 3 on this funny mergy thread.

Boco is the name the one that I wanted for ds if he was a girl?

Dress the other teddy as Swampy.

FrannyandZombie · 04/10/2007 18:37

That's quite an outre name for a boy, Dior
