For anyone who wants a boost to their general health. The suggested goals are:

EAT 10 PORTIONS OF FRUIT AND VEGETABLES EVERY DAY - if you don't usually eat much fruit and veg I would build up gradually or you could upset your digestion.

DO (AT LEAST) 10 MINUTES OF EXERCISE EVERY DAY - can be yoga, stretching or something more energetic. The plan is that the idea of doing 10 minutes is not too daunting, and having started you may well find you want to do more.

There are no restrictions on what you eat so long as you get your 10 fruit and veg as well. The focus is not on weight loss but on improving our energy levels and hopefully our general mood and well-being. Sign up below and post here to tell us how you're getting on and how you are feeling.

Basic guidance on what constitutes a portion of fruit and veg here and you can download more detailed information by following the link at the very bottom of the page

You think he was one of those golden shower chaps?

lionheart · 03/10/2007 21:15

What is wrong with people?

MrsCarrot · 03/10/2007 21:22

Ew... what a thought, wee in a tupperware box as a gift.

I had to go down an embankment once as we were stuck in jam for SIX HOURS on the way to a wedding at Leeds Castle. We got there just in time for food, which is quite a good time to arrive if you don't know the couple well. Miss out all the boring bits.

TooTicky · 03/10/2007 21:44

Hello everybody

Went to a wild party today where I ended up policing the trampoline.

Landlord says heating engineer will come on 19th Oct. When I tentatively suggested trying somebody who could come sooner, he said, "But this guy knows that boiler". Now, when a boiler can only be fixed by somebody who knows it personally, maybe it's time to upgrade... He may get somebody to look at the immersion in the meantime as that is supposed to be back up.
I am procrastinating over a sink of washing up. Cold water just makes it depressing.

lionheart · 03/10/2007 21:44

Weddings can be a trial.

FrannyandZombie · 03/10/2007 21:45

TooT you are RENTING and your landlord will not fix your hot water for TWO WEEKS?

Go to housing advice!

lionheart · 03/10/2007 21:45

You sound remarkably bouncy, TooT, under the circs.

lionheart · 03/10/2007 21:47

Hang on, I just noticed the renting part ... That's rather a long wait.

Tatties · 03/10/2007 21:57

LOL lionheart, dp did the cigarette thing once too

TooT agree with Franny, 2 weeks to get it looked at is NOT ON

FrayedKnot · 03/10/2007 21:58

Toot do you have a letting agent or just you & landlord?

We lived in rented for a while and our boiler went on lock out but they sent someone within a couple of days iirc.

3andnogore · 03/10/2007 22:21

I just had a brainwave

doesn't happen very often I know

I have thought of a proper good title for 10/10 (well I think so obviously)

in the smae theme as this one

Failure to blanche ( can you tell I was just watching Failure to launch yesterday or so, lol)

what do you think.....

any good?

lol

3andnogore · 03/10/2007 22:22

Oh and when I say proper good title, I didn't mean to imply that the other titles used weren't proper good...jsut that this is actually teh first one I thought off and thought...wow that is actually not bad at all....lol

FrannyandZombie · 03/10/2007 22:42

LOL 3and, I think it's very good and I also love your Halloween name

3andnogore · 03/10/2007 22:47

well, teh halloween name was a fellow mn'ers idea....as my origianl choice was just so boring and well...looooooooooooooong..........

ahundredtimes · 03/10/2007 23:09

My threeandnogore, you are playful tonight.

MrsCarrot · 04/10/2007 08:27

Toot!!!

That is not acceptable in any way shape or form. It is getting cold and you have four children. I know you know this but he needs to REMEMBER this. If that man can't come then someone else needs to spend a while getting to know your boiler, and if it persists in resisting friendship it is time to part ways.

Honestly - it's not on. I assume it's privately rented rather than housing association? I don't think you are allowed to be left with no hot water for three weeks. Find out. He's probably got garuntees for this one for parts or something, but that's not your problem. This isn't the dark ages. Our hot water is always blowing and I get someone that day.

I feel very annoyed about this. I expect your landlord is fat and is eeating a bacon sandwich and having a steaming shower. Ggggrrr

Morning everyone else!

IdrisTheDragon · 04/10/2007 08:36

Hello. There is a banana in from to fme. But I think it is someone else's.

I want to be back at home again. I am fed up of being a working mother. Bum.

IdrisTheDragon · 04/10/2007 08:37

"in front of me".

I can't even type this morning .

FrannyandZombie · 04/10/2007 09:05

I liked "there is a banana in fron fme"

I thought it meant FMV had sent you a banana as a present.

I have eaten apple, pears, plums, raisins.

I am in a pissy mood this week.

TooTicky · 04/10/2007 09:26

Landlord is in bed with flu apparently. He is a bit ineffective but he doesn't hassle. We have been paying the rent 2 weeks late (but regularly) for a while now. But the system costs us more than it should to use as (when it is functional) the water won't heat unless the heating is on, which is very wearing in the summer. And not at all green. We had a dripping tap once, for months... it dripped, then it trickled, then it gushed...and every so often the landlord popped over to look at it.

Am in foul mood anyway. And I can hear mummy cows bellowing for their babies and the babies frantically and high-pitchedly mooing back. Is depressing.

Food is low. We have no apples and no onions. This constitutes a crisis. And I can't make cake.

FrannyandZombie · 04/10/2007 09:33

I would phone him and say

"oh poor you, flu, well obviously you can't be phoning round about this boiler at the moment - so I will do it for you. We can't be left here for 2 weeks with no hot water! Ha ha! 4 kids and no hot water or heating in October, ha ha, you can imagine how the papers would love that! I'll get some quotes and let you know when I find someone who can come round this week. They can send you the bill. No really, don't worry, you concentrate on getting better and I will sort it all out."

Lullabyloo · 04/10/2007 09:43

Toot....
cold & cakeless.....how awful...
Shall I send apples & onions at once?
What can I do?

Lullabyloo · 04/10/2007 09:44

yes yes yes.....do as franny says......bully the mean chap

Lullabyloo · 04/10/2007 09:51

have taken ds to nursery.....late as ever
now it is darker in the mornings we just wake up later & later
They were playing at drawing shapes in squirty foam on the table.....ds viewed this activity from a safe distance with a very disgusted wrinkly nosed expression..when invited to partake he shook his head & said he didn't think it was actually a very good idea to play with horrid shaving foam & disappeared into the garden making wooooo wooooo train noises.
....oh well

He cannot understand why we had to return to Kent...he keeps saying he doesnt want to live in this home anymore & he wants to see boats & rivers & steam trains when he looks out of the window......
I know how he feels.....

Have just had warm berry compote & vanilla porridge...have to go into town & queue in ghastly long queue in p.o................grizzle
