For anyone who wants a boost to their general health. The suggested goals are:

EAT 10 PORTIONS OF FRUIT AND VEGETABLES EVERY DAY - if you don't usually eat much fruit and veg I would build up gradually or you could upset your digestion.

DO (AT LEAST) 10 MINUTES OF EXERCISE EVERY DAY - can be yoga, stretching or something more energetic. The plan is that the idea of doing 10 minutes is not too daunting, and having started you may well find you want to do more.

There are no restrictions on what you eat so long as you get your 10 fruit and veg as well. The focus is not on weight loss but on improving our energy levels and hopefully our general mood and well-being. Sign up below and post here to tell us how you're getting on and how you are feeling.

Basic guidance on what constitutes a portion of fruit and veg here and you can download more detailed information by following the link at the very bottom of the page

Boco, dp says degunk it. Get rid of any superfluous programmes and defragment your hard disc.

Boco · 25/09/2007 13:16

You see, defragment your hard disk. I had no idea it had fragmented - how do i stick it back together? I don't know what this means. Oh dear. If i try to open another window or tab the whole thing freezes and won't unfreeze when i press the escape thing - i have to switch it off at the wall. That's not good is it.

NorthernRockCod · 25/09/2007 13:16

100 i am watchign you

IdrisTheDragon · 25/09/2007 13:18

Hello cod .

ahundredtimes · 25/09/2007 13:19

Oh I don't know if you would like it MrsC.

Is a private school, very, very straight, rather academic and very stuffy with merits and house points and all that. But that is because I went to a mad school with no rules, and am OBSESSED with proper, formal education as a result. It gives you choices.

Also, I suppose I think that mine are all intrinsically rather marvellous, lightly eccentric and a bit odd and I don't think school changes that one jot. They can be creative and have weird interests with a latin o'level that's all.

ahundredtimes · 25/09/2007 13:19

lololol.

Carotte · 25/09/2007 13:20

It's alright, 100x, you are safe here.

That sounds like a school I would have enjoyed, I liked Latin. Does sound a bit strict for ds1 though.

Why is cod watching you 100? Do you like it?

ahundredtimes · 25/09/2007 13:27

I love Cod.

Hmm. It took me a year to work this school out, and then I realized it's like a 1950s school. Is very learning led, not particularly pastoral I don't think.

I went on a y4 trip. The teacher stood and explained how the canal worked, on and on he went, entirely directed at learning. And then lots of boys and girls listening, and boys with things in their pockets, and someone else goofing about in the nettles and someone else with some beetles in his pocket.

DS1 likes it because nobody asks him how he's feeling all the time, or tries to press him to their bosom and 'talk things through.' And I quite like that too. Strangely, because it is so learning led there is masses of scope for bad behaviour and downright eccentricity in the margins.

Does that make sense?

lionheart · 25/09/2007 13:27

Poor MrC

lionheart · 25/09/2007 13:31

DS1 has a lovely school.

He thinks some people in the world can be recycled, having learn about global warming and multi-culturalism on same day.

He is peeved I didn't have the good sense to be born Hindu.

ahundredtimes · 25/09/2007 13:31

Also it's not posh, which is good I think. I don't like the pish posh private schools.

Sorry. Right, your breasts MrsC.

GO AND GET ABS FGS.

TooTicky · 25/09/2007 13:46

Right, Boco....
go to start menu
click on all programs
accessories
system tools
disc defragmenter
and follow instructions, he says.

It's all to do with getting your blue stuff in the right place. It is supposed to sort of congregate on the left.

Boco · 25/09/2007 13:56

Sorry, I have no idea about Macs. Actually I have no idea about PCs either. All my expertise is borrowed.

ahundredtimes · 25/09/2007 14:17

Boco - there is a swanky, swoonworthy Apple shop in Bath. Is gorgeous.

I am on first name terms with the lovely men in there - they all wear black v-neck jumpers and jeans - tell me what the problem is and I'll go and ask them. They do this for free - then I'll write it down and tell you.

FrayedKnot · 25/09/2007 16:13

Hullo

I've had dried fruit, a bowl of fruit salad (melon, kiwi, strawb, grapes), a carrot with some hoummous, and just contemplating supper.

Does anyone know what soup counts as? is it one portion or if you eat laods, is it two?

I am furiously downing echinacea as I fear a cold may be lurking.

lionheart · 25/09/2007 16:24
