For anyone who wants a boost to their general health. The suggested goals are:

EAT 10 PORTIONS OF FRUIT AND VEGETABLES EVERY DAY - if you don't usually eat much fruit and veg I would build up gradually or you could upset your digestion.

DO (AT LEAST) 10 MINUTES OF EXERCISE EVERY DAY - can be yoga, stretching or something more energetic. The plan is that the idea of doing 10 minutes is not too daunting, and having started you may well find you want to do more.

There are no restrictions on what you eat so long as you get your 10 fruit and veg as well. The focus is not on weight loss but on improving our energy levels and hopefully our general mood and well-being. Sign up below and post here to tell us how you're getting on and how you are feeling.

Basic guidance on what constitutes a portion of fruit and veg here and you can download more detailed information by following the link at the very bottom of the page

Avi,Bee,lionheart.....thankyou

Carotte · 15/09/2007 17:54

Oh, I'm so pleased, LL, it really made my day reading your post. I hope you enjoy everything.

Now, LL, I've just seen a Burberry ad with a little boy that looks remarkably like your ds??

I am wearing my boots, oh boy, they are nice boots, so furry and slouchy and scruffy and fun. I love them.

Lullabyloo · 15/09/2007 18:30

hmmmmmmmmmm.....no not ds
He once had a breeze doing a jojo maman bebe shoot in Rye & made front cover
Thankyou Mrs C....I want to (((()))) you all for being so utterly incredibly lovely

I want to send somebody a parcel......perhaps we could do a secret 10/10 christmas swap?????????????????

BBBee · 15/09/2007 18:37

I made these lovely things (oh look at me all modest) they are greek kind of filo pastry things with feta and spinach and cumin - they are very nice and very easy - I make them to take to parties and everyone does the 'oooh' thing. If we do parcels I will send evryone one in greaseproof paper.

MrsC - your boots are nice and I am a bit jealous because I don;t think I quite have the coehoels to carry them off.

DS is insisting we have a 'family film night' because a boy in his class does it. We are doing early bath and pyjamas and then having popcorn and watching film. I was thinking more 'chitty chitty bang bang' but we have ended up with 'garfield the movie' have to sit and watch am not allowed to read book or fold washing. Will be bonding won;t it? Would rather join the commune though.

BBBee · 15/09/2007 18:38

LL - was there crying chocolate?

Lullabyloo · 15/09/2007 18:46

there was Bee

film night sounds lovely....I cant wait until ds watches something other than Thomas,Rosie & Jim,Kipper or Brambly Hedge......not sure about Garfield though......

yum...parcels sound good...we made some similar pea & potato ones the other day.

I have a craving for garlicky mushroomy ones now

TooTicky · 15/09/2007 18:57

What are your boots like Carotte? Picture please.

LL, glad you have had a lovely day.
The Old Bear stories (Jane Hissey) are rather lovely on video if you're looking for variety.

BBB, I keep meaning to ask you about the Russian connection - your dh argues in it and there was something else, can't remember what.
I have a fascination for Russia I tried to teach myself the language when I was 15 - got bogged down in grammar after a while.

Lullabyloo · 15/09/2007 19:07

Toot.....we have those videos too.....he loves the books but out of choice prefers the ones I mentioned.
I used to have the collection of soft toys...my mother gave them all away ds would have loved them

FrayedKnot · 15/09/2007 19:37

The commune was amazing - so beautiful. They're almost totally self sufficient, they were milking cows and making butter and cheese, they grow everything, beautiful orchards and the most amazing vegetable gardens. It's in a huge glorious house - some of it was really beautiful, all high ceilings and grand, but alot really shabby and run down and actually a bit grim. First half of the day i was thinking i could really live here - you have your own self contained unit which can be quite big - and my friends was beautiful, like rooms from pride and prejudice, and the amazing sweeping gardens and little wholesome children up trees. We watched these two little boys with their hand made apple press making us fresh apple juice and drank it within half an hour of being picked from the orchard.

But then some of it looked like it was just abandoned and a bit bleak - communal areas that were so dusty and shabby and run down.

And of course there's the whole living with 40 other people who you may or may not loathe.

Oh but the little pigs! And watching the cows come home for milking - dds want to move in tomorrow.

Boco · 15/09/2007 19:48

Cod we don't eat fruit fgs! We don't even like it. Some eat chocolate soap, i like haribo, bee eats parcels.

can you tell i'm excited???????????????????

filthymindedbolshevixen · 15/09/2007 19:53

yeah yeah cod, we all ate fruit today...
were you lured in by my thread title or are you spying for Franny ?

Lullby - glad the parcle arrived safely and that we all chose well

A chrsitmas 10/10 secret swap is actually a lovely idea.

Boco - I am incredibly of your old hall connections. I saw a prgramme about it once and dh and I were packing our bags on the spot. I'm a teensy bit sure I'm made for communal living..really I am. As long there is is a private space to retreat into ocasionally. I think I am massively co-dependant . Or maybe just very sociable. I love cooking and eating communally.

Am shattered today as we have done a 6-hour round tri to MILs. We've been on the beach and MIL is doing very well. She even looks rather lovely in her wig

LL we went to Bedgebury not long ago and I saw the Lapland UK advert. Christmas seemed ages away at the time but I did make a mental note...

Filthy whens your birhtday? am sure am the oldest now..

filthymindedbolshevixen · 15/09/2007 19:58

OP posts:
lionheart · 15/09/2007 19:59

I couldn't do the commune thing.

I got booted out of a housing co-op/commune thing for not being, erm, y'know co-operative enough. Was a long time ago.

filthymindedbolshevixen · 15/09/2007 20:01

LOL. You anarchist!

OP posts:
lionheart · 15/09/2007 20:22

They were very civil about it. There were lots of houses that made up the co-op and one day when I came back, all the other people in the house where I lived said they were moving next door.

I can take a hint.

BBBee · 15/09/2007 20:36

cod is so sent here by franny - actually she is almost better than franny with all that bursting in and shouting. franny is too nice to us.

I would live in a commuine with you. LL does the cooking. Otherwise it would be a know. You remember that cataway programme? I thought that looked really good but DP said no way.

DP is not russian but he speaks it. He is from another ex-USSR country and speaks lots of languages.

LOL at lionheart not being allowed to stay in the commune - am sure there is more to it than that.

garfield was not as bad as it sounded really - but DP (grr) on instruction to by nice snacks bought just some Orville Redenbacher honey butter popcorn that was vile beyond vile. DD and I had some red grapes.

filthymindedbolshevixen · 15/09/2007 20:53

Oh! My dh can speak a little russian!
(He can sing Yes We HAve No Banana! in Russian. Which impressed me no end...)

I have a MN commune all sorted already. You're in BBBee. When I get that lottery win...

OP posts:
lionheart · 15/09/2007 20:57

That is impressive, fmv.

I don't think I could do the commune thing, well, apart from the grand historical mansion part.
