For anyone who wants a boost to their general health. The suggested goals are:

EAT 10 PORTIONS OF FRUIT AND VEGETABLES EVERY DAY - if you don't usually eat much fruit and veg I would build up gradually or you could upset your digestion.

DO (AT LEAST) 10 MINUTES OF EXERCISE EVERY DAY - can be yoga, stretching or something more energetic. The plan is that the idea of doing 10 minutes is not too daunting, and having started you may well find you want to do more.

There are no restrictions on what you eat so long as you get your 10 fruit and veg as well. The focus is not on weight loss but on improving our energy levels and hopefully our general mood and well-being. Sign up below and post here to tell us how you're getting on and how you are feeling.

Basic guidance on what constitutes a portion of fruit and veg here and you can download more detailed information by following the link at the very bottom of the page

shame we can't wash our consciences clean while we are at it

lionheart · 21/09/2007 09:04

Tongues are another matter.

Carotte · 21/09/2007 09:08

Oh we can wash those too in the Carraunderette.

Sat hello to your tongue. Oh, you can't, wave then, ha ha ha.

Carotte · 21/09/2007 09:09

Does your mane need a scrub, Lion?

lionheart · 21/09/2007 09:12

No, but the tip of the day said something about shaving bobbly, loved things, didn't it?

FrannyandZooey · 21/09/2007 09:13

[tries to wave, fails, shrugs instead]

while you are on a roll I have a very dirty mind

[heh]

must go and make buckets of playdough

lionheart · 21/09/2007 09:15

Must go to work. Humbug.

Carotte · 21/09/2007 09:29

I must go and attempt take 2 of the check and send passport fiasco.

Carraunderette will reopen later for foul scrubbings.

IdrisTheDragon · 21/09/2007 09:45

Morning.

I am trying to combine turning messy house inot somewhere where mothers and toddlers will not feel afraid to ocme this afternoon (Alice's party) with a 2 year old who is in a grump, depsite staying asleep all night. I will see if grapes help the situation.

Tatties · 21/09/2007 09:54

Good morning everyone

Franny you are most certainly not the only control freak here

I want an [eek] emoticon. I am always wanting to do something a bit like this :-I

I am sorry that people have been feeling sick and ill I have also been feeling quite tired (PMT looming). I went to the gym the other night and instead of energising me it left me feeling like a wreck I didn't overdo it either. What's that all about?

BBBee · 21/09/2007 10:12

I am doing work but I just popped in to say that PSW has mortally offended me by not responding to my post about baking powder how very dare she!

I am flouncing off and will only come back to flounce again.

TooTicky · 21/09/2007 10:33

MrsC, can you do my feet please? Have just realised I forgot to wash them after dd2 wee-ed on them last night. And that was BEFORE the playmobil robber fiasco. Which didn't affect my feet but was jolly stressful all the same.

TooTicky · 21/09/2007 10:34

Lionheart has fleas

TooTicky · 21/09/2007 10:35

MrsC has carrot fly. She needs some onions to move in next door.

FrannyandZooey · 21/09/2007 10:37

TooT

what has got into you young lady?

TooTicky · 21/09/2007 10:40

fruit deprivation yer honour. Only 2 bananas with brown bits in the house. Oh, and some overly elderly grapes. And Riverford won't be here for another 3 hours or so.

FrannyandZooey · 21/09/2007 10:50

My veg is here. Tons of good stuff, plus we have 4 fruit bowls in the house and they are all full Cooking apples too! Ds is delighted, we can make another crumble

IdrisTheDragon · 21/09/2007 11:03

I am obviously worried and distressed that no-one is concerned about my trying to tidy house which is partially working.

Or possibly not .

BBBee · 21/09/2007 11:04

we hear you idris - we just have no advice to offer. My house looks like it has exploded.

IdrisTheDragon · 21/09/2007 11:04

None of that makes sense. Oh well .

DD is now playing with wooden blocks. I feel a sense of happiness, or at least relief that she is not wailing about a disaster (such as grapes refusing to go where she wanted to have them in the doll's cot at the complicated matters of life as a 2 year old).

IdrisTheDragon · 21/09/2007 11:07

Thank you Bbbee. My house always looks like an explosion and I don't normally care. This means that when other people are coming round it is more stressful. Only people who normally come are family and luckily I don't get so stressed then.

We also seem to have no toys that 3 and 4 year old girls play with. What do 3 and 4 year old girls play with? I am only knowledgable on 3 year old boy and 2 year old girl. And both of them happily play with random things that you don't generally expect other people to paly with (ice cube tray anyone?)

Argh am having verbal diorreah (sp) rather than ac tually getting on with what I am meant to be doing....

TooTicky · 21/09/2007 11:08

4 full fruit bowls

We keep a large vegbox which we fill on a Friday. It disappears v. rapidly in this house though.

Am eating (homegrown) cucumber. Might go and check apple trees...

TooTicky · 21/09/2007 11:09

Wooden train sets are excellent Idris - even the most girly can ghenerally enjoy it.
