For anyone who wants a boost to their general health. The suggested goals are:

EAT 10 PORTIONS OF FRUIT AND VEGETABLES EVERY DAY - if you don't usually eat much fruit and veg I would build up gradually or you could upset your digestion.

DO (AT LEAST) 10 MINUTES OF EXERCISE EVERY DAY - can be yoga, stretching or something more energetic. The plan is that the idea of doing 10 minutes is not too daunting, and having started you may well find you want to do more.

There are no restrictions on what you eat so long as you get your 10 fruit and veg as well. The focus is not on weight loss but on improving our energy levels and hopefully our general mood and well-being. Sign up below and post here to tell us how you're getting on and how you are feeling.

Basic guidance on what constitutes a portion of fruit and veg here and you can download more detailed information by following the link at the very bottom of the page

you don't need to go to SN (unless you want to). I don't even belong on here and I feel no qualms .

In all honesty ahundred, it just sounds worse and worse. Are you planning on taking it up with the head? I know you haven't asked for opinions, but I think you should. I think that is entirely inappropriate behaviour with a child, especially given the circumstances. (I know you'll have to hear his side of the story).

What did dh say?

lionheart · 10/09/2007 18:52

Right, that should provide some light relief.

lionheart · 10/09/2007 18:53

TolockyBoss is fmv?

Filthymindedvixen · 10/09/2007 18:59

Not any more...

Filthymindedvixen · 10/09/2007 19:00

It was a spoonersim of my favourite RL expletive.

FrannyandZooey · 10/09/2007 19:01

Yes vent here as much as you want. This is really just a thread for kindred spirits as we all know, but we have to pretend it is actually about eating vegetables or something to avoid clique accusations

On which note I am going to the gym. I don't want to, but have cunningly booked myself in for a review so I have to. Better go.

ok franny

Enjoy the gym! You are very brave to go for a review!

Boco · 10/09/2007 19:56

Please vent 100x, i don't want to be the only one on here doing the non-veg venting. This is totally the Right Place. And i agree with Foxy, you should def go to the head - it's crap behaviour.

I just had this huge smoothie, with nectarines, plums, apples and banana - which tasted ok, but it was kind of grey, and the girls wouldn't believe that it wasn't a cup of porridge, so refused to drink it.
Green beans and curly Kale and carrots for supper.

I like Joni Mitchell very much.

pinkspottywellies · 10/09/2007 20:27

I had greengages for breakfast and now we've changed the thread
Today I've also had raisins, juice, had broccoli, peppers, onion and mushrooms with pasta, raspberries, spinach, onion, green beans, tomato, sweet potato (but I've just looked and it doesn't count)
I'm just looking to book my train tickets for the meet up.

IdrisTheDragon · 10/09/2007 20:29

Both my children are in bed .

I am tired. It being a day when I work and therefore have to get up horribly early and then do work and come home and pick up children and cuddle them and put them to bed (which takes a while).

DS has just discovered he can dress himself, which is lovely. But he had a shirt with buttons on today and couldn't undo the buttons (I presume DH helped him to put it on this morning) and didn't want me to help and then DD weed everywhere and I got cross and shouted . Not good mummy behaviour. Even worse was DS telling me "that wasn't a nice thing to do Mummy".

Oh well, tomorrow isn't a work day. I will have my (continual) hope that DD will stay asleep all night .

I like the duvet cover and pillowcases I bought at lunchtime . And a set of pillowcases arrived from ebay (I have separately got the duvet) and I like them too .

Is it OK for me to waffle on like this. I do eat some F&V I promise .

FrannyandZooey · 10/09/2007 21:16

"that wasn't a nice thing to do Mummy"

this is a GREAT thing for him to have said Idris! He is spot on. If he kind of cowered and blamed himself then you would have problems, IMO.

Ok my personal trainer is an evil sadist who just happens to look like Owen Wilson. He has ripped up my nice safe routine and put in bad and mean things called the Plank and Intense Cardio Bursts. I am not sure if I am his friend any more.

I wonder how ZIPPI is getting on? [pleasurable nail biting emoticon]

Thank you Franny - I think I did know it actually was good that DS said that - and it definitely stopped me being shouty (which is ).

I too wonder how Zippi is getting on.

Does Green and Blacks dark chocolate with cherries in count as a portion [hopeful emoticon]?

o.k. have had apple, banana, orange, raisins, mange tout, strawberries and grapes, mushrooms, leeks. Eightish for today.

And I quite often forgett the 10/10 part because the kindred spirit stuff makes digression easy.

FrannyandZooey · 10/09/2007 21:23

I only went looking for pictures of him out of the goodness of my heart, for you Avi

I don't know Owen Wilson either, but I assume that to be a good, if somewhat distracting thing.

RustyBear · 10/09/2007 21:28

Sorry to hijack, but I do love your titles - do you have a list of past ones?

I love Owen Wilson very much. He's made some toss, but also some really funny films, like bottle rocket that made me laugh a lot, and the royal tenembaums, and my absolute favourite film, The Life Aquatic. Ned was fantastic.
