For anyone who wants a boost to their general health. The suggested goals are:

EAT 10 PORTIONS OF FRUIT AND VEGETABLES EVERY DAY - if you don't usually eat much fruit and veg I would build up gradually or you could upset your digestion.

DO (AT LEAST) 10 MINUTES OF EXERCISE EVERY DAY - can be yoga, stretching or something more energetic. The plan is that the idea of doing 10 minutes is not too daunting, and having started you may well find you want to do more.

There are no restrictions on what you eat so long as you get your 10 fruit and veg as well. The focus is not on weight loss but on improving our energy levels and hopefully our general mood and well-being. Sign up below and post here to tell us how you're getting on and how you are feeling.

Basic guidance on what constitutes a portion of fruit and veg here and you can download more detailed information by following the link at the very bottom of the page.

You don't look in the least bit sensible, and there is a mysterious glow behind that looks like you are in an interesting place.

Boco - yes, I am, grudgingly though not as much as 100. I will poke you now.

TooTicky · 05/09/2007 23:01

PSW, I'm so glad your day went well. I was quite worried about you.

SK - at your fabulous schooling system. Perhaps Franny and I could come and live with you and bring our dcs.

Boco · 05/09/2007 23:07

toot, shhhh, dont' tell anyone my name, not sure if this will work anyway.

TooTicky · 05/09/2007 23:09

Bum. It wants me to sign in.

BBBee · 06/09/2007 00:15

hello

oh god it's late and I missed it all being facebook.

greengages (buy some if you can - they are aromatic lovely kind of plums)
tomaotes
grapes
dried apricots

oh no - that's it - how poor.

Will eat big salad tomorrow.

Off to find Boc's sleep thread...

BBBee · 06/09/2007 00:16

(in my defnse franny your honour it was about 8 greengages and I took a dog for a walk)

TooTicky · 06/09/2007 00:17

Mmmmmm, greengages are addictive.

BBBee · 06/09/2007 00:28

oh TT - thought everyone was in bed.

Still think about your fish you know. DS had an animal liberation moment by the live crabs at the fishmongers. He declares it the 'saddest thing he has ever seen'.

TooTicky · 06/09/2007 08:07

I remember ds1 being absolutely horrified when he found out what he was looking at in a shop was, "slices of pig". He's not so veggie these days but I have high hopes that he will return later. Or at least eat ethically produced meat.

MrsCarrot · 06/09/2007 08:09

Raspberry porridge.

They are in their new outfits and there is an air of resignation in the house. I have been foul to everyone as Lo's teeth are playing up again. Four poos, hours of grizzling/dribbling pulling hair and I feel like death. I might perform surgery on them myself to encourage their eruption. He, of course, is cheerful as ever.

zippitippitoes · 06/09/2007 08:43

on the facebook topic i just started a thread on this new sabout privacy here

FrannyandZooey · 06/09/2007 08:51

MrsC

TooT I forgot to say the fish thing was hysterical and awful at the same time. I liked him taking it out of the freezer and saying "I am too hard and cold in here."

Have had plums, pear, banana, raisins fr breakfast

That is worrying, Zippi. I actually don't like facebook either and keep meaning to cancel it but it seems rude when I've just added people as friends abd rude to ignore requests. It's a minefield. Scary though, how much of teir lives people put on it.

Aviatrix- You haven't been around much, have you got on with lots of work?

filthymindedvixen · 06/09/2007 12:35

I feel all left out as i am resisting facebook.

Boco · 06/09/2007 12:39

I like facebook. My friends are all in London and now i have far more contact with them and i like seeing what they're doing and we message each other lots and i like it.

I don't quite see the problem with zippis article, i mean, i'm in the phone book - if someone wanted to find out my address or phone number they could. If someone searched google for me and found that i had a facebook page - they couldn't see it, they could message me if they wanted, but if it's someone i don't like i can ignore them - they can't see anything about me - they'd find out more calling directory enquiries. NOt that i've actually got anything interesting to uncover anyway.

I've had nectarine apple and banana.

filthymindedvixen · 06/09/2007 12:52

I'm sure I'd like it. That's what I'm afraid of...I have a tendancy to get addicted to things. And my life is too full of distractions already. I barely look after my children because of Mumsnet already...

MrsCarrot · 06/09/2007 12:54

Yes, I suppose people can only see the name and picture unless they are friends. I wonder about how much detail they put on about their lives, especially teenagers but it's the same with myspace

What I find tricky though, are the people who have looked through their friends friend list and thought, Oh I rememeber her or, haven't seen them for ages, or whatever, then you get the requests and it's AWKWARD ignoring them, and you don't really want them to be able to see your profile and messages/photos etc but they don't really know that you've groaned when you get the e-mail etc.

I have tried to ignore a few but when you see the faces beaming out at you every time you log on, oh I don't know. people have probably thought that about me. I just find it a bit awkward. 'So and so has invited you to throw food' well, I don't want to throw food, do I ignore request, do I seem boring, a spoilsport?

It is really great to ctach up with some people, but the whole thing, as a thing, makes me cringe a bit.

God, sorry, um since porridge, guacamole and crisps. Must try harder with lunch.

3andnomore · 06/09/2007 13:05

Hi All...
have eating all rubbish so far...well, the rubbish contained some fruit and vegetable, I suppose...but not sure if it counts, and how healthy they were, lol...had, so far, a big slice of lemon drizzle cake (went with ms to a near by Country park and the cafe sells far to delicious cakes, lol...and well, I hadn't had Breakie beofre I went, because I forgot... ) and they also sold some beetroot crisps and parsnip ones....so, I had to try those....were really yummy, too....muhc nicer then potatoe ones...but still non the healthier, I suppose, lol!

Sauerkraut, school there sounds even better then germany....! I think we got to move over there It's german speaking isn't it, so, I would be allright, lol! Dh...well, he would learn and so would the Kids, lol!

Possum, oh the Birth sounds perfect...I think, if ever we would have another Baby, I would go for a independent midwife, because I know that would be the only way I could overcome my fear from my last experience. Not that we are planning anymore Kids you know....shudder at the thought of it, to be honest....although...in a way I would love to be pregnant...if only there wasn't that Baby to look after afterwards, lol!
No idea about trees...but I do like cherryones Think the blossums are soo pretty!

Mrs. C....sorry to hear about your Teething nightmare...

Boco · 06/09/2007 13:25

I know what you mean mrsc - i now just ignore all the vampire and zombie and food fight stuff - that's fine, theres so much people dont care. I like it as a more colourful email, with pictures. Maybe i'm totally naive about privacy, i figure i only have people i like on there, so i'm fine for them to see pictures etc.
Did you groan when i added you as a friend? Well? Actually i think i heard you groan, you're quite local, i heard it.

3andnomore you sound the opposite of me, i wouldn't mind a baby but would hate to ever be pregnant again. I loved it the first time, and was sick every day and hated the second time - just couldn't do it again.

TooTicky · 06/09/2007 13:31

Oh, I love pregnancy and babies. But 4 is enough I suppose

Bit of apple, bit of salad.

Franny, I sent you an email just now - could you please let me know if you get it? Just that our email is not as it should be today.

And if any of you is called Carrie and has emailed me, could you do it again please as the message didn't show.

TooTicky · 06/09/2007 13:34

And who was it in E.Midlands who wanted a homoeopath recommendation? Was it you Wombling? I am so sorry, I am very confused. More so because everybody has an MN name and a real name. This is why I have the same password for everything I do, because my brain can't cope.

ahundredtimes · 06/09/2007 13:35

Isn't Carrie a MN HQ person? Perhaps you're about to get told off TT?

I'd like to brought a three year old - I mean my three year old - then I'd do it like a shot. Just don't much want to do the pregnancy/birth/feeding/first three years.

Have eaten two plums today. That's rubbish isn't it? Now dcs are back at school I seem to have stopped eating.

Boco, I have been thinking about your dp. Is his job stressful because it is a stressful job or because he hates it?
