that's the whole problem, it's so difficult to explain this excersise....every woman who has ever had a child should have a friend called Phil who's a personal trainer....

ghosty · 01/09/2007 11:13

Both legs together ... straight ahead of you?

ghosty · 01/09/2007 11:14

hmmmmm, fit is he? this Phil???

zippitippitoes · 01/09/2007 11:15

oh right i had my arms straight..

fuzzywuzzy · 01/09/2007 11:15

yes yes bandofmothers that's it. Phil said I'd get a lady equivelant of a six pack. and dh was like 'bloody hell those lush creams really do work dont they', after about a week. A big deal as Dh never ever acknowledges that I have a deflated balloon for a stomache (it's not quite so bad now)

ghosty · 01/09/2007 11:15

Blimey, I am excited now ...
twice a day and results in a fortnight?

Does it matter that I have had 2 glasses of wine? Can I start now?

fuzzywuzzy · 01/09/2007 11:16

yes tottally ghosty, and short and dadlike!!! but the bod of a god. gotta go

BandofMothers · 01/09/2007 11:16

I can do it with my bum on the floor, but if I lift my legs my hips are not on the floor. It's sort of like I'm balancing on my bum

Does that sound at all right??? And have my elbows bent sort of behind me, forearms on the floor. That is the only way I can lean on them.

Bet you regret posting now don't you fuzzy.

Get in position, get someone to take a pic, then put it on your profile

zippitippitoes · 01/09/2007 11:17

oh yes a pic of you doing it please

OP posts:
ghosty · 01/09/2007 11:17

yes, I agree, get a photo fuzzy, please ..

You will have life long friends if you do [batting eyelashes]

BandofMothers · 01/09/2007 11:22

poop has she gone???

I think I have it. Does hurt the lower back abit. Can do about 5 each way.

ghosty · 01/09/2007 11:24

Owch
I did 8 one way and then collapsed then did 6 the other way before collapsing.
Am going to show DH.
Cool.
Will report back in a fortnight.

BandofMothers · 01/09/2007 11:25

well done ghosty.

Did it seem like you were balancing on your bum too???

BandofMothers · 01/09/2007 11:27

ooooooh. Did 10 each way. Could really feel it in the tops of my thighs too.

Hope I'm doing it right.

So what was it. 10 each way twice a day????

ghosty · 01/09/2007 11:31

No I felt I was on my hips ... more on my sacrum really (which isn't that great for me I have to say) ...I think it works if, when you are lying flat, you start with the small of your back pressed down, then lift up your back from the shoulders and then your legs, you will find your hips will feel that they are on the floor IYSWIM?

ghosty · 01/09/2007 11:31

And well done for managing 10
[impressed]

Aitch · 01/09/2007 11:36

okay, can someone re-summarise this exercise please? i have no idea what to do now, and i thought i did from the first explanation.

from the top...

Ulysees · 01/09/2007 11:40

fuzzy, could you put a pic on your profile to show the correct postition?

ghosty · 01/09/2007 11:40

Ok aitch.
Lie on your back
sit up a bit, and support your weight on your elbows ...
Lift up your legs so you are in a kind of shallow V shape ... keep your weight on your hips rather than bottom (so press the small of your back down)
circle legs in a clockwise direction 10 times
repeat in an anti clockwise direction.
collapse in a heap.

zippitippitoes · 01/09/2007 11:41

so it's not right if you start sitting and then lean back down onto your elbows and then raise your legs?

OP posts:
ghosty · 01/09/2007 11:42

ummm ... I suppose you could ...

zippitippitoes · 01/09/2007 11:43

so what is tyhe difference between your hips and bottom..i though your bottom just padded out your hips?

OP posts:
ghosty · 01/09/2007 11:44

Oh god

Where's fuzzy gone?

My bottom, sadly, is lower than my hips ...
rofl

zippitippitoes · 01/09/2007 11:46

we need fuzzy on webcam

OP posts:
ghosty · 01/09/2007 11:47

I guess you lot are thinking your hips where your thighs bones join your pelvis ... yes?
I am kind of thinking of the top of the pelvis ... those hips.

Can you tell I failed my Biology O Level?
