For anyone who wants a boost to their general health. The suggested goals are:

EAT 10 PORTIONS OF FRUIT AND VEGETABLES EVERY DAY - if you don't usually eat much fruit and veg I would build up gradually or you could upset your digestion.

DO (AT LEAST) 10 MINUTES OF EXERCISE EVERY DAY - can be yoga, stretching or something more energetic. The plan is that the idea of doing 10 minutes is not too daunting, and having started you may well find you want to do more.

There are no restrictions on what you eat so long as you get your 10 fruit and veg as well. The focus is not on weight loss but on improving our energy levels and hopefully our general mood and well-being. Sign up below and post here to tell us how you're getting on and how you are feeling.

Basic guidance on what constitutes a portion of fruit and veg here and you can download more detailed information by following the link at the very bottom of the page

Avi - that is nicer than my actual kitchen

TT I am positive that nettle ale constitutes many green F&V tokens

Lentil weaver and nettle brewer...has a great ring to it...

ahundredtimes · 29/08/2007 21:13

TT - how exhausting. And you were tired before you even left. How was farmers market?

I left dd wailing on the floor saying 'I don't want to be left with him. He doesn't know anything'. Anyway by the time we came back it transpired he did know a very nice place to take her out for lunch .

Everybody came back here post picnic, and I was hostess to the First Bath Pokemon Festival. Was a big responsibility but apparently went swimmingly. Am obviously very proud. House is wrecked, which is annoying given I've now turned into Someone Who Cleans.

ahundredtimes · 29/08/2007 21:14

Oooh MrsC you're back. I'm pleased, I was missing you.

Guadalupe · 29/08/2007 21:14

Avi - very envious again of your space and lovely heuristic playthings. I can't justify them unfortunately as I can't fulfil the first part of the bargain and constantly waste money, therefore do not deserve worthy larger prizes.

ahundredtimes · 29/08/2007 21:17

FMV - well done. How exciting. I once spent a very good night in Claridges. The cocktail bar has (or maybe had) silk wallpaper. Was all very glamorous and fun. Gordon Ramsey STARED at me. He did. I don't know why. It might be because I wasn't wearing a hat.

Guadalupe · 29/08/2007 21:17

Did you miss me, 100x? How nice of you. I briefly read posts while away just the once, no time to reply but I tell you Hermione Lee's Virginia Woolf is well suited to stuffing in mouseholes, I would have liked to have done that with my copy. This may be sour grapes as I got a Very Bad Mark for that essay

Guadalupe · 29/08/2007 21:19

and my friend in Edinburgh knows the people who lived in the Withnail and I house coincidently, she was at school with them or something.

ahundredtimes · 29/08/2007 21:20

Oh yes, I missed you keenly. I even mentioned this once on the thread.

Lee's book was out because we'd had this discussion about hearing the R4 programme about Woolf and her servants, and I remembered how I kept starting the book and never finishing it. So I fished it out, but now it's stuffed under the dishwasher and I may never ever actually read it.

Guadalupe · 29/08/2007 21:22

yes, I think I talked about her servants, was all about The Hogarth Press, sigh. I got pregnant mid essay which never helps.

I am very pleased indeed to be missed. Sounds like you all had a very cosy time in bed though!

FrayedKnot · 29/08/2007 21:23

Hullo

Welcome back Mrs C and welcome Idris!

Where are Pruni & Jeremy Vile?

It's taken me ages to catch up which I admit to having been doing while I burn a CD and listening to DH having an ardous conversation with my DGM (DGM? Dear Grandmother) - she is 92 but talking to her at this time of night tests the patience of saints, and I am not one

2 apples
Big salad for lunch
Pasta sauce with toms, courgettes & brocolli

I need to top up with some fruit now.

No exercise really - I haven;t been on the rower for ages

Lovely garden man has been digging out my garden today with a mini-digger. I currently have 110 m2 of mud!

ahundredtimes · 29/08/2007 21:23

There was a small carrot shaped cold bit though.

Guadalupe · 29/08/2007 21:25

At that point I was standing underneath a suspended swimming pool watching girls splash and slide about erotically, though it looked painful, and all the men kept reaching up to them looking very excited and like all their Christmases had come at once.

ahundredtimes · 29/08/2007 21:27

You had the better gig I think. Boco wouldn't turn the light out and BBee wanted to read. WHAT was it? What was the best thing you saw?

Guadalupe · 29/08/2007 21:28

and we were herded around in the dark and when the lights came up, it was a rave and I was standing right in front of the decks and everyone behind me had their hands in the air so I had to join in and the DJ looked like Beethoven. There was a lot of stamping and people rolling around on the walls too.

Guadalupe · 29/08/2007 21:31

Oh, this was the best thing by far, it was extraordinary and I have not jumped up in the air like that after one measly glass of prosseco before. I have the cd but it's not the same, quite boring in fact without people jumping everywhere. Fuerzabruta

Guadalupe · 29/08/2007 21:33

It was lovely just wondering the streets too, the little shows are either glaringly bad or mostly very good, either case it was worth stopping to look.

Guadalupe · 29/08/2007 21:34

Frayed knot I thought you said welcome idiots at first

Where are you all? I am talking to myself.

Tatties · 29/08/2007 21:44

TT I bet you are drained after today, I think you deserve a drink

Avi, pics are lovely, but yes we want to see YOU TOO

I forgot Claridges was Gordon Ramsay, even more now.

Since last posting I have had raisins, plum, carrots, houmous, and leftover curry with kidney beans and tomatoes. I have had a splitting headache all day but feel great now after going to gym (10 mins cross trainer, 10 mins swim). Could do with a bit more fruit before bed.

Tatties · 29/08/2007 21:44

And where is Lionheart?

Guadalupe · 29/08/2007 21:48

was it you who asked about white tea, Tatties?

Boco · 29/08/2007 21:49

You should all make up a rhyme for the katie melua thread - found it very addictive today and did about 300. Go on try!

courgette
pepper
onion
tomato
mushrooms
strawberries
blueberries
dried apricots

Keep getting stuck on 8/10

FrayedKnot · 29/08/2007 21:50

Mrs C do you pronounce your name Guadalupe or Guadalup-ay

It is evry important for me to know.

Edinburgh sounds fab. I've never been.

Guadalupe · 29/08/2007 21:54

Boco - how do I pronounce my name?

Guadalupe · 29/08/2007 21:55

It is fab, Frayedknot, I am missing it and my friend very much.

FrayedKnot · 29/08/2007 22:02

Boco I have wailed with laughter at the Katie Melua thread. Am too tired to contribute tonight but v. funny indeed.
