For anyone who wants a boost to their general health. The suggested goals are:

EAT 10 PORTIONS OF FRUIT AND VEGETABLES EVERY DAY - if you don't usually eat much fruit and veg I would build up gradually or you could upset your digestion.

DO (AT LEAST) 10 MINUTES OF EXERCISE EVERY DAY - can be yoga, stretching or something more energetic. The plan is that the idea of doing 10 minutes is not too daunting, and having started you may well find you want to do more.

There are no restrictions on what you eat so long as you get your 10 fruit and veg as well. The focus is not on weight loss but on improving our energy levels and hopefully our general mood and well-being. Sign up below and post here to tell us how you're getting on and how you are feeling.

Basic guidance on what constitutes a portion of fruit and veg here and you can download more detailed information by following the link at the very bottom of the page

Would it be a bad idea to eat 4 satsumas just before bed?

I've had 2 but want more.

I'm sorry Zippi, and Dior, you are both feeling horrible at the moment.

I do not know the backgrounds iyswim but hope you are both feeling better soon.

DS is 3 (due to start school Sept 2008) and I started having my first wobbly thoughts about it this week. Soemthing to do with uniform I think

Aviatirx, i too must depart, this 10/10 thread has been a pleasant way to leave, taking some amused memories with me and a definite shift in my eating habits for the better - many thanks for that Franny. Academic term starts soon and enjoyable though MNet is, for me these days it's just a way of procrastinating and I need to get on with real life (although it was a life-saver when DS was newborn, such a goldmine of useful advice and support). Your OU courses sound intriguing - what are they on?
I remain unrepentant about my browser box I love it and it will serve as an unbabyish-in-decor toy box for many years to come. After that, well, i am passionate about great design, I buy rarely but thoughtfully and for keeps, so it may metamorphose into an 'expensive magazine rack' but I'm someone who has just spent £300 plus on a William Wagenfield table lamp (Bauhaus) so it's of a piece with the rest of my home. Justification over, I'm happy, DS is happy
Boco, BBBee and 100x should BE a comedy sketch at the Edinburgh fringe, their collective wit is near genius.

FrannyandZooey · 21/08/2007 22:44

No. Leaving is not allowed. You did sign the contracts, ladies. Sorry. The island is cut off from the mainland, you know. Have you met Britt Ekland?

Ok today i have definitely reached 10. And the swimming. And i'm even taking borage! - found coincidentally that it's good for the weirdy eye problem. Which mn is not.

Franny can i have some kind of badge or something? Something for my lapel peut-etre?

has this turned into a dominatrix thread?

how enticing! [visions of frantically sweaty skipping mumsnetters with www cracking bullwhip]

SaggyPossum · 21/08/2007 22:50

ooh Aviatrix, very interesting topics, the sustainability bit especially, it keeps me awake at night, wondering what the world will be like when DS is thirty and pondering what we can do to stop it all going to hell in a handbasket.
I may well pop in now and then as certain Mnetters have been amazingly helpful and kind with support apropos DS's talipes and I'm sure I'll need to call upon their expertise at points in the future.
I don't think I'll ever be able to eat a mango again with a straight face.

Just checking in.

I don't really do [hugs] (can feel myself go a bit funny just typing it) but sending positive thoughts to both Dior and Zippi. Sorry life is hard for you at the moment. Hope it picks up soon.

Avi - don't go, real life is overrated! Seriously, who will I get my vicarious spending thrill from now? A pic would be nice of the kitchen....

Good lick in the sweetie shop tomorrow PSW. Have some of those lovely choc oranges for me!

Hello everyone else, hop eyou are all ok.

Done lots of walking today with the tank. It weighs 16kg without either child in it, so it must be doing me some good. Ate a pizza exp salad for lunch. And wine. Mouth still a bit sore but definitely on the mend.

Have got to go into work tomorrow, even though I am on ML, to pick up some stuff. Am teaching next weekend and am feeling rather wobbly. Some materials would help, but it might send me scurrying under a stone waiting in a blind panic. Kill or cure I reckon. See you tomorrw

SaggyPossum · 21/08/2007 23:10

oh, Avi, in response to your question, I like Alvar Aalto designed stuff - an entire shop of it in Helsinki, tooo tempting, later Art Nouveau (Wiener Werkstatte) and proper Art Deco as in Arts Decoratifs (not the later bastardised stuff) eg Ruhlmann.

SaggyPossum · 21/08/2007 23:13

I guess that sounds a bit mad and eclectic from an art historical point of view but I'm very lucky that my home is a mix of beautiful inherited stuff I couldn't relinquish out of sentiment and it all hangs together comfortably somehow.
I am off to eat some dried figs and then I will have made my 10/10.
