Be strong today OJ. It might help Steve face up to things after speaking to the oncologist today, however it's very coomon for patients diagnosed with cancer to be in denial at first especially when they don't feel unwell. You just need to support him through it as best you can , i hope you get the date for treatment today. Am thinking of you and wishing you both strength to get through today.

Hi OJ - hope you got some answers fromthe dr today. Only just seen your question about the mask. DH's is clear plastic (he brought it home when it was all finished LOL). It has little coloured triangles and lines all over it which they used to make sure the radiation was hitting the right spot. No need for tattoo as it was all on the mask.

Thinking of you. DH is in a right arse today. HE's dropped his steroids down and it makes him like a bear with a sore head. Other than being really really tired, and the crazy patchy hair, he hasn't had many side effects from the treatment. And like steve, he isn't actually poorly from the tumour. Weird isn't it.

Pennies · 15/08/2007 19:34

Thinking of you - hope it went ok.

What a rubbish day, saw the top oncologist no less.
Steve has a Glioblastoma grade four.
they are going to do radiotheraphy and chemo (temozolonide] at the same time. He said the purpose of treatment was to gain time and not a cure
we are numb steve has had to make a very diificult phone call to his mum (on her holidays) and to his twin brother.
this is just to sad, how are we gonna cope

So sorry to hear that, OJ. Sending you strength and hugs.

popsycal · 15/08/2007 20:00

OJ - I have been looking out for this all day.

Easter 2005, my godmother was diagnosed with lung cancer which had spread and give 6 months to live at the most. She is still with us and has gone back to work! I hope the treatment can be as successful for Steve. You need Martianbishop.

I am thinking of you all
