I know it's a little 'in yer face' but i felt we needed a huge reminder everytime we posted each other!

Fresh start for Monday then!!

okay actually, but as you said, that thought of the occasional fag is a pleasure is ALWAYS in my head and tbh i'm not entirely sure it will ever go. the important thing is to remember that it's never that ONE it's always that TEN/TWENTY.

i've got the worst back ache in the middle of my back from the whole sleeping thing. our mattress is from ikea and instead of one big one, they make it two singles so i get lumped in the middle between ds1 & ds2 and that's where the saggy bit is!! sitting here is not helping either! do you find yourself slumping then shooting up when you remember it hurts then slumping then etc....iykwim i look so silly - up down up down....

don't look like a tortoise with the neck stretching tho fg

I am a slumpoholic and because we spent a measly 50 quid on a double mattress its like soooo lumpy you CANT sleep on it. So we have a double duvet then a sheet to give us a wee bit of comfort.
I sit erect here hwn typing and slump when im reading so up down up down, yes! I do too!
Hmmm, well at least its not just me. I suppose if we think to ourselfs, we are adicts and we were smoking, but now we are not because we dont want to, but we will think ohhh id fancy one because that is the nature of the drug to make us want to think that and ACCEPT that then we should be ok.
I thinks its because I would like to be free of those tempting thoughts.
I also feel im failing because I do want one, you know? Even though I havent had one.

Oh and while im here an update on Tanyas chest, she had started the cough again so I took her to the doctors this morning and hes gave me a big thingy and some inhaler puffy stuff for her to have 3x a day. Does this mean she has Asthma? I dont know!!! he said it would help but TBH since having a puff of it shes coughed MORE?????

Poor tanya, hope the inhaler does help her, maybe yo need another chat with the doc about what she actually has cc? V V proud of your strong resolve, pls don't be hard on yourself for yearning for a puff, you too mm, of course you want one sometimes, would be v weird to quit & not crave... but you are both DOING BRILLIANTLY! I wanna be in your club!

Yeah I do link fags with pleasure but also hate them with a vengeance and myself for succumbing. Am actually sicking myself & looking forward to giving up, honestly.

We had a terrible mattress that eventually had me and dh walking around with our heads at an odd angle - it was from ikea, pretty cheap, was bloody useless, got a new one from J Lewis and what a difference that made to our sleep & aches & pains, she says, sounding about 107 years old. xxx

Hello Fiona, glad you are still posting. I know exactly what you mean when you say you are sickening your self of fags thats what I have been doing for these past couple of years, not smoking feeling good, having one leading to a weeks worth, hating them and me and then again and again and again...
Need to read that THERE IS NOTHING TO GIVE UP chapter.
Not smoking though so need a pat on the pack. Am also going swimming tonight for half an hour when dd1 has her lesson and that will be half an hour all by myself sigh...lovely...

whilst i don't enjoy swimming except when i'm on holiday (think i was traumatised by 'test week' at school), swimming must be one of the most relaxing things to do, and makes you feel so healthy! good for you cc!

poor tanya. when i got pregnant with ds2 i started having difficulty breathing clearly and kept wheezing. the doctor said i had asthma and gave me an inhaler. i think it is so common that sometimes it's not worth the worry as there are so many levels of it. it depends how bad tanya's is? still, i also think the gp should give you a clearer picture of what's going on. and if the inhaler's making it worse, then you should def. ask them about it!

nice to see you back fg, we miss you loads. i still haven't finished your book though i try, as i only get to read it before sleeping and then that's when ds2 wakes up so i have to turn the light off for him to sleep!! thinking taht i will have an early night to devote myself to it, it's great fun to read! i actually put ds1 in a modelling agency but then his eczema flared up for ages, so we didn't actually do anything in the end. PUSHY MOTHER oh and isn't it funny how the us edition has to change the spelling of words? they don't do that to uk eds with us books do they?

Swimming was good, 5 mins nearly killed me though, and I lost my nose stud and I was ultra paranoid coz i sneaked in without paying Well its 3.50 and i was only gonna be in there for 30 mins...

bloody hell, just read that entire post on smoking in the garden and was thinking about adding but it all got a little heated in there nice to come back to this safe haven!! smokers/non-smokers can really rub themselves up the wrong way can't they?!!

I remember when my nephew was born..hes 15 now and i was 9-10 and my mum and my sister sitting smoking with him sitting in thier knees and me, because I was learning about it at school, saying you shouldnt be smoking near him , its really bad, you know having a baby sitting with fag smoke curling around him and it really used to frustrate the hell out of me that i couldnt get them to listen
Mums excuse nowadays is we didnt know back then, but thats rubbish because I knew and im sure my sister did too.

Yeah I read the fagging in garden thread too, was also gonna post... but was too scared to. My mate george (dd's pal's dad) smokes in garden all the time around our kids, prob did so at dd's party (which was in the garden!) - am so used to him being a smokey person it didn't even register.

If my kids see him smoking they go, 'ew, yeuch, you smoke!' And have had to point out that yes, smoking is foul, bad for us etc, but it's not really their role to be hectoring a 47 yr old man!!

I know this is dangerous territory and am prob gonna get shot down in flames. scared face...

btw I did love someone's post on that thread, saying what a great party, with fags and pissed adults!!

mm pls don't feel obliged to race through book! It takes me about 6 months to read a book. My mind is too steeped in Heat magazine.

Yeah some conditioner and a nit comb. She just had eggs and only a few, but where she had had her hair up id spotted them and said OMG!!!
Dont even know if they do shampoo for them any more....my dd1 has had then about 10 times from her friend whos friend never gets rid of them or from school. We had a lovely summer holidays nit free where we didnt socialize!!!
I have used the mousse, but you still need to comb anyway so it seems silly to spend 10 quid when your gonna have to spend time combing ANYWAY. I check my dds once a week even if they havent got them, just so I will catch any stray ones before they become colonys!!!!

May as well confess to my [anger] All it is is that I live next door to a pisshead and I suffer from the nicotine addiction myself and I dont think either is particularly attractive or a very good example at a kids party, I mean its not the end of the world, but puffing smoke up your own or other kids noses is not funny, or clever and I dont think mothers being half cut at partys is very nice either. Thats all. BTW

Oh and my [anger] was because 25 years down the line of a few fags and a few drinks is a possibly shortened life by loads of complications due to the old fags and beer...but noone thinks of that at the time its all party party party.....

And if I remember correctly, after being Allen Carr brainwashed because Everyone else is doing it with no apparent ill effects is what makes us think we will be ok too...and look at us 3 or 4 massive threads and 2/3 months down the line ...
