For anyone who wants a boost to their general health. The suggested goals are:

EAT 10 PORTIONS OF FRUIT AND VEGETABLES EVERY DAY - if you don't usually eat much fruit and veg I would build up gradually or you could upset your digestion.

DO (AT LEAST) 10 MINUTES OF EXERCISE EVERY DAY - can be yoga, stretching or something more energetic. The plan is that the idea of doing 10 minutes is not too daunting, and having started you may well find you want to do more.

There are no restrictions on what you eat so long as you get your 10 fruit and veg as well. The focus is not on weight loss but on improving our energy levels and hopefully our general mood and well-being. Sign up below and post here to tell us how you're getting on and how you are feeling.

Basic guidance on what constitutes a portion of fruit and veg here and you can download more detailed information by following the link at the very bottom of the page

I don't know - was hard to ask anything really. Didn't want to seem in any way critical or like i was judging her for leaving - she's obviously going through hell - i'm guessing his parents, although they're elderly. Just can't believe it could happen.

ahundredtimes · 03/08/2007 21:56

No it's utterly shocking.

ahundredtimes · 03/08/2007 21:58

I bet the girlfriend feels guilty. I can't imagine what I'd have done in her situation. The same probably.

Boco · 03/08/2007 21:58

That would have been lovely 100. It was Portishead, which made it all far worse, no where to go and nothing to do while dp lay in bed moaning and groaning. I made lego houses for about 12 hours and came close to hurting my fil for making endless puns. me - can i have the mayonnaise? Fil - 'I can't believe my-own-eyes!!' etc etc etc for days and days and days.

We did have a great time at the wedding though, and stayed in nice bit of bristol with friends.

FrannyandZooey · 03/08/2007 21:59

yikes at puns

will look at your thread 100 but first I must do some work

Crikey. My FIL always calls me 'Butterfingers' because I once dropped a glass about 567 years ago, but everytime I pick something up he says, 'Oh look out butterfingers!'. I think I might hit him one day.

Portishead? Oh dear. I wish I'd been here. I'd have brough a picnic and champage and gorgeous throws and we'd have camped out on the Downs. DS2 would have poked his head out the sun roof when we arrived and shouted 'We're here. Quick run for it. Get in'. I know he would.

Oh god. Please go and stay there again so we can do this.

ahundredtimes · 03/08/2007 22:03

I wouldn't bother to be honest Franny, it's a bit boring.

Foxy was heroic and tried to help out, but it wasn't going anywhere.

ahundredtimes · 03/08/2007 22:04

WHY was Dp lying in bed and groaning? Was he hit by mysterious illness in his parents house? Hmmm. I know that one.

ahundredtimes · 03/08/2007 22:09

OH NO. Where have you all gone? I have to stay awake till 12 for these people coming to stay. Don't go orf. Otherwise I'll have to go and rustle up an opinion on the postal service, and I really haven't got one to hand.

lionheart · 03/08/2007 22:11

They are probably reading t'other thread.

Boco · 03/08/2007 22:11

I'm a bit unsympathetic and always assume that he's just a huge wimp if he says he's ill, but he really did go grey and sick and shivery, and stayed in bed for 3 very long days.

We went to Bristol zoo on a mammoth family outing with inlaws and sil and nieces, he nearly threw up in the twilight world - the thought of him dry retching in the darkness in front of fascinated children was quite funny. He dropped dd2 in front of the sloth and literally ran away.

We were supposed to be going home - and although i was desperate, the thought of him sweating and quivering behind the wheel of a car on the M4 was enough to make me endure the puns.

We go a couple of times a year, keep the champagne and throws handy.

pinkspottywellies · 03/08/2007 22:37

I've been meaning to post this for a couple of week because I seem to remember that some of you are closet twitchers. There's a black kite near me at the moment. There have been loads of people parked at the side of the road with cameras and binoculars and after a few days I had to ask someone what they were all looking at!

By the way, is MrsCarrot on holiday or something? I haven't seen her for a while.

FrannyandZooey · 03/08/2007 22:39

Yes I am missing MrsCarrot. Was going to scroll back - so many people are on holiday...

PSW at black kite. It was me who was swooning at the red kites near HC's house. They are so ruddy impressive.

ahundredtimes · 03/08/2007 22:47

pinkspottywellies · 03/08/2007 22:52

Sorry 100x. I shall desist immediately

BBBee · 03/08/2007 22:53

hello

feet have not touched the ground this week - have completely over planned my school holidays and have computer withdrawal.

Okay - have eaten well - farm course all week so lots of picnics and outdoors stuuf.

Am going to find 100x euro thread - what was it like really? we go on 12th - what shall I avoid and what shall I do? (it is like having someone go out and scout for me!)

boco - we are stilll off to nrfolk camping nest week if you fancy a beach soiree - we are crazily hectic but would love to meet you - we are there from mon to thurs next week - you around?

Boco · 03/08/2007 22:58

BBB dp has ruined camping plans by being ill all week so now has to work next week - so we'll probably go in a couple of weeks now. But in suffolk - so if you pass through in either direction and fancy a date in Eye then let me know.

ahundredtimes · 03/08/2007 23:01

Thank you for stopping the bird talk. I must say I have NEVER noticed any twitching on here before. I couldn't come if you all started on about wrens and cranes and the like.

OH BB come and talk to me on the thread, Yes please.

BBBee · 03/08/2007 23:08

oh curse your dh illness!

Know anything good we can do thre?

Will look at map and see if we go through suffolk (geography crap but is it south of norfolk?)

Boco · 03/08/2007 23:14

Yes, south of norfolk - we're just at the border, near Diss.

Anything good to do in my village? Umm, well, not really, only visit me. There's a ruined castle and 3 tearooms, lots of pretty little cottages and some woods. Don't know your route , but if it was through suffolk you could stop for a break and have a picnic?

BBBee · 03/08/2007 23:16

sounds lovely - will look at map - I am coming through Cambridge. You ahe=v two beautiful fairy daughters don't you?

I have a shy quiet 5yr old girl and an excitable and insane 7yr old boy.

Boco · 03/08/2007 23:19

I have a 5 year old girl who is sometimes quiet and shy and sometimes bolshy and cheeky, and a 2 year old girl who is always very friendly and bouncy. She'd love the 7 year old, she loves boys.
