I had it more mildly yesterday and Friday, but it's really bad today, what could it be?

Greeny?

NorbertStanleyFletcher · 23/07/2007 21:08

I had real bad pain about oh 6 years ago. I thought that I didn't need medical intervention, and ended up being blue lighted late at night. DH was working away, and I ended up having to leave my (sleeping) 2 year old with his 13 year old big bro while DH was on his way home. When in Hospital I asked them to please turn the fan off. The nurse said "oh no - your temp is so high and I don't want you to start fitting"

It was my appendix, and your pain prob isn't, but really, if the pain is so bad that you can't walk, and you are already on meds that are not working, then you need to get it looked at.

FennelpolyjuicedintoMandrake · 23/07/2007 21:10

Greeny how's it going? have you gone to the walk-in centre yet (wherever that is). Let us know if you need any babysitting - we are around. The sooner you go the better you'll be by the time you look after the friend's dd tomorrow.

DumbledoresGirl · 23/07/2007 21:10

The fact that she hasn't posted for 75 minutes is probably a good sign and she has taken our advice.

Either that or she has keeled over....

All the best Greeny. I hope you are getting some sooper dooper ABs down you even as I type.

NorbertStanleyFletcher · 23/07/2007 21:12

greeny - shit woman - let us know you are OK

(OK OK I know we are the last thing on your mind at the moment )

greensleeves · 23/07/2007 21:17

shit sorry, didn't realise people were worrying!

I have rung NHS Direct and spoken to a doctor, told him my temp has come down (which it has) but I am still having pains/nausea. They said to keep taking the antibiotics but take paracetamol/ibuprofen as well, to reduce inflammation and temperature. Then if I am not significantly better tomorrow, definitely come in to A&E (next to the walk -in centre). Which I will do, if I am not loads better tomorrow.

Sorry, didn't mean to worry people and then disappear!!

FrannyandZooey · 23/07/2007 21:19

of course we are worried you silly mare

so will you go down there BEFORE looking after this child, if you are not recovered in the morning?

NorbertStanleyFletcher · 23/07/2007 21:19

OK - as long as you are not keeled over - how is the pain now? Really. Honestly?

greensleeves · 23/07/2007 21:23

Yes, if I am still in pain tomorrow I will go in a taxi on my own, dh will have to have our kids so he might as well have the visiting child too. Gallingly enough I do feel a bit better since taking paracetamol and ibuprofen and another AB.

Sorry! I am a bit thick about this sort of thing, didn't realise people would be worrying!

pain still quite horrible but temp better and dizziness much less bad. I'm hoping a night's sleep will help.

FrannyandZooey · 23/07/2007 21:29

oh right, well the rest of us LOVE them of course

Tatties · 23/07/2007 21:30

I had this once, didn't go despite taking ABs, turned out what I had was resistant to the ABs I was given... It started to improve quickly once I was on the right ABs. I would DEFINITELY get seen to, it can get very nasty.

FennelpolyjuicedintoMandrake · 23/07/2007 21:31

Shock news, greensleeves has a stubborn side

greensleeves · 23/07/2007 21:32

FrannyandZooey · 23/07/2007 21:35

and ruddy come and post in the morning and tell us what's happening!

NorbertStanleyFletcher · 23/07/2007 21:37

Oh yes - you had better let us know how you are tomorrow, or we will all be swearing better than you do

We have the right to nag you know

Seriously - we will all be thinking of you all night and worrying about you in the morning

francagoestohollywood · 23/07/2007 21:40

Stubborn and Stoic. In no way I'd suffer for four days in silence...

NorbertStanleyFletcher · 23/07/2007 21:57

Well it is surprising what you will suffer (thinks back to appendix)

I went 3-4 days with appendicitis trying to hold out until hubby got back at the weekend!
