its taking over the world. well, his foot anyway. doesnt seem to hurt him much but is ugly as hell and growing alarmingly and will no doubt spread to us all...

local gp 'verruca clinic' is sporadic. earliest time we are booked for is Aug 5th.

anyone done home freezing? do they work?

what about a chiropodist (dps idea) would they treat it for us?

Keep on trying, they just get worse. They can get so big that when removed there's a massive hole in the foot. It grows back, godknowshow, but don't faff around with bananas please . Arm yourself with toxic chemicals / acid / freezing guns.

TranquilaManana · 17/07/2007 17:39

righto. will do. sorry.

Also, if he's squeamish, bathe the foot nightly and give him something to rub it with himself (flannel / pumice). I didn't force mine into it but it's worth keeping trying as they get used to it after a while.

Sorry to be so extreme about it - but my dd missed PE for about 3 months and as a result got a bad report! She's the most athletic of all her friends so I can only guess that she was hobbling around on one foot during PE and looking rather pathetic.

we have purchased the scholl wart stuff. is packaged differently to that stuff you linked to cod, but i think is just coz that was a US site... assume is same stuff.

will attempt tomorrow i guess.

would before nursery/holiday club be a bit off, you think? or does it not really hurt?

update: (tranquilamanana is i)

the verruca is completely gone, thanks to cods tip of using the home freezing doobery. one treatment was all it took, and within about 3 weeks, tis gone without a trace.

marvellous!

conclusion: on the subject of verrucas at least, listen to the fishy one. she knows her stuff.

MorocconOil · 04/09/2007 20:46

I have tried the Scholl freezing treatment twice now on DS(5) foot. The verruca seems even bigger and has turned black, with whitish, dead looking skin around it. It's a bit alarming, and was I wondering whether anyone has encountered this.

NappiesGalore · 04/09/2007 22:03

yeah ds1's did that. leave it. its dying but it takes ages.

my money says that it will be gone in about 3 weeks time, max.

MorocconOil · 05/09/2007 09:15

Thanks Nappies. Have just made an appointment at GP for him. He's really limping with it, and says it's sore and itchy. They'll probably say what you're saying and that it'll take 3 weeks, but I don't feel I can leave him now it looks so awful. TBH I wish I'd left it well alone as it looks much worse than it was to begin with.

NappiesGalore · 05/09/2007 10:37

ouch . poor him... hope its all feeling better soon

MorocconOil · 05/09/2007 10:43

Just got back from GP and the verruca is infected and he's been prescribed antibiotics, and advised to stay off school until friday! I feel guilty as I kept dismissing his complaints of soreness, as he can be a bit of a drama queen. The GP said that scholl stuff is fine to use usually though.

NappiesGalore · 06/09/2007 18:20

oh dear!

he antibots should clear it up quickly then? hope so - if only to appease your (unfounded im sure) guilt
